We expected more
We like the Oak Alley but expected more historical information about the slave people who lived there. That part is barely mentioned in the tour at Oak Alley. There is only a few houses whit poor information and there is no guides talking about it.

The boat is just ok, nothing you must to do. We saw just a little aligator.

Dear Client, We do apologize for the Plantation experience. We do offer Oak Alley and Destrehan Plantation on a daily basis. We do not have any input into the plantation experience. Our job is to provide round trip ground transportation, prepay your entrance fee and give you all the info necessary to spend about 2 hours on the tour and self exploration of the grounds. I assume that you looked at Oak Alley's web site and determined that it was the best tour option for you, coupled with the swamp tour boat. The Swamp Tour is now in our winter tour experience. Unlike a zoo, gators are subject to hibernate beginning in October, with colder weather. Our captains attempt to make sure that they find a gator on every tour. We are sorry that the time of year is not easy to find multiple gators. Our captain works very hard to enlighten and entertain on every tour. We are sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations. Maybe had it been during a warmer time of the year, you would have seen many gators on our tour and had a better tour experience.

An alright tour
Oct 2021 • Family
We were supposed to do the plantation first but they said the schedule got messed up so we did the swamp first, which was a great experience and so much fun! The swamp tour was definitely the best part. However, the bus they take you on to get to and from the plantation/swamp was so awful. If you get car sick easily I would reconsider this tour, the bus ride made me so sick and it definitely needs some upkeep. The emergency exit window was partly broken so made an annoying noise the whole hour and a half ride, and the AC in the bus hardly works so it was terribly hot in the bus. And you feel every single bump it was lifting everyone off the seat most of the time, it kinda ruined the whole tour for us. By the time we finally got to the plantation we didn’t have much time because we got there in the afternoon, it was upsetting that the schedule wasn’t like it normally would be. We also had a family with small children in our group and it was awful, especially at the plantation. We could not hear a single word the guide was saying. This is definitely not a tour for very small kids that get bored easily.

We are sorry to hear about your experience to and from the plantation. We are glad to know that you had a great experience with the swamp tour. Our company does not own Oak Alley, we only provide the transportation portion of the tour. We do apologize about the air conditioning, but it should have been working or at least it should have been switch out for a bus that works. As for the conditions of the road, we do not have any control over that. I would agree that the roads could use some repair. Overall, we appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

Swamp/Plantation Tour
Captain Reggie was great! Very easy going and a great sense of humour. We saw plenty of gators and even held a hatchling. The plantation was beautiful and the gift shop had plenty of unique souvenirs.

Great Time!
Jul 2021
Barbara was our bus driver to Oak Alley and she was amazing. She told us all about the history of New Orleans and different areas, along with her experience during Katrina. She made the hour drive go by fast. Oak Alley was interesting and a beautiful site. The swamp tour was by far my favorite part of the whole trip. We had captain Dewey who showed us a ton of gators and we even got to hold a baby one. I would go back to NOLA just for the swamp tour.

Favorite part of our trip to NOLA!
Jul 2021
Definitely the best part of our trip to NOLA! My husband wanted to see the plantation and we did the swamp tour for our teenage boys, but all three generations LOVED the day trip. The bus ride to Oak Alley was about an hour but a bonus (we didn't have a car) but the history and amazing oaks were worth the trip. And we loved every minute of the swamp tour - we saw more than a dozen alligators, and spent some quality time with a sweet 11-footer (yes - SWEET! Who thought an alligator in the wiled could appear "sweet?") who was happy to swim over for a chicken neck and a marshmallow. He was even nice to the FOUR other alligators who swam over to see what the fuss was about! Our guide was amazing, the speedy airboat tour was so fun, and the quiet trip through the cypress swamp was so memorable! Oh, and never once were we afraid...in case you're concerned about taking small kids on the trip! The boat is fast but entirely under control, and the gators are curious but not aggressive at all!

We enjoyed the tour guide and the grounds of the plantation. Long bus drive out to the plantation but it is nice to sit back and enjoy the scenery through the swamps.
