It's brilliant when you end a vacation on a high note! Booked a tour of the Louisiana bayou with Louisiana Tour Co. and went on an adventure through several swamp ecosystems, saw a bunch of wildlife (even in January!), educated on the perspectives on the effects of hurricanes, conservation and general conditions of the day from a local perspective. There really isn't anything like riding in a flat-bottom airboat, weaving through channels of swamp at a good click and coming upon an 8' alligator sunning themselves on a mudflat cypress grove! Our tour guide Jason was an excellent pilot, experienced and informative and good on pacing the ride experience with stopping and sighting wildlife. If you read my other posts, I write glowing posts, mainly because I want to cite tours/guides and/or places that merit it ! This tour/experience will take you a total of 4 /5 hours out of your day including the ride from New Orleans. I came away smiling, wondering why I don't do more of these type of guided experiences when I travel. If you visit New Orleans, even for a weekend, a swamp tour is a must; Louisiana Tour Group is a great company that believes in sharing the beauty, wonder and culture of this part of Mississippi Delta!

This was a more reasonably priced tour and the fact that they pick up and drop off is a bonus! We weren't sure what to expect after seeing a tour depart because they didn't look like they had a good time. The captain of that tour was available for our time but we ended up on a different boat...and what a blessing it was. Our captain was very knowledgeable & personable and made for a great experience. He twice pulled smaller gators into the boat for us to see up close as well as had babies on board for people to hold.

A MUST DO - the one tour everyone loved, especially teens. Stunning views of the bayou, friendly, fun and knowledgeable tour guide. Super easy pick up/drop off and the smaller group size (6-9) on the airboat was fantastically fun. 100% top of our list - we fell in love with the swamp and it’s critters, and left with a deeper appreciation for this part of the country. An absolute blast!

The pontoon boat tour of the swamp was excellent. Dewey did a great job of educating us about the swamp in a very entertaining way. Dewey’s passion for this swampland (where he was raised) was obvious and made the tour enjoyable. The round trip transportation from our French Quarter hotel was perfect.

We were picked up our hotel by Alert transportation and driven to the swamp boat loading area with rest rooms and gift shop. As it was pouring rain we bought $3.00 rain ponchos. The boat had covered seating and rest room. The captain was great! He is a native to the area and knew everything about the bayou. It was easy to hear him anywhere on the boat. We saw quite a few alligators as they like to get the white marshmallows he threw. My daughter even got to hold a baby alligator. Very enjoyable tour! The bus then took us back and dropped us off at our hotel. Highly recommend tour!

We had a great time!! Very convenient with the hotel pick up. We signed up for the last tour of the day, were picked up at 3pm, the tour lasted 2 hours, lots of awesome alligator sightings and fun info form the guide. We were dropped off at our hotel around 6:30pm. I highly recommend the trip!

My family travels a great deal and we love doing fun activities and tours while adventuring. This was an absolutely terrific Swamp Boat Tour! Our captain, Matt, was informative as well as funny. As a lifelong local, he could speak with personal knowledge about the effects of storm damage and how Louisiana is losing her wetlands. He was absolutely fearless in engaging with the local alligator population, giving us many photo/video opportunities. I think we saw at least 20 of these prehistoric creatures while on the tour. The covered boat was comfortable; I especially appreciated the protection from the sun.
Pick up and drop off was right to our hotel providing us with literal door-to-door service. Transportation was a on comfortable, coach style type bus.
We all had a great time and it was a nice, laid back sort of adventure, making it a solid antidote for the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter. Highly recommend this company for a swamp tour!

The whole experience was awesome. The driver who picked us up from French Quarter was very cordial and practical. They called to walk us one block to canal so that can save lots of time and anguish from other passengers. Makes perfect sense !!!
Captain Reggi was phenomenal! His unique way of narration was very much enjoyable - and guess what we get to hold a baby allegator in hand !!! And he even put him on my daughter’s head 😳😳😀😀
Overall - loved it every bit

The tour it’s self was great and the boat driver was very friendly and full of information. However our bus driver was rude he put us out 15 mins away from our hotel along with serval ours before there stop because he was running behind than begin to catch attitude and use profanity when I called the company to explain what happened I was told a supervisor would call me back which never happens. That tells me this happens all the time for that reason I would never use the company again!

There is no swamp tour. All what you get is a canal tour and nice stories from the guide( Capitan). This is a big scam. Read the small print Final sale, non refundable.
After the tour I asked for a nr where I can talk with somebody about the tour and they don't want to give it to me.

Thank you for your feedback. We offer swamp tours surrounding the Bayou Barataria, Intracoastal, and Lake Salvador. You opted for the tour boat, which is a big pontoon boat that can only surround the swamp, as it's not possible to go through it due to the shallow waters and trees/tree stumps. However, the airboat is smaller and is operated by a fan, which can go deeper into the marshland and canals, giving you a closer experience of the swamp. So, I would recommend you take an airboat next time if you want a closer experience to the swamp.

The tour duration is 2 hours.
Is that the time on the boat or does it include the bus to and from hotel pickup?
Where is the pickup location?
