    What to Expect
Treme' (pronounced Tre-May) sits adjacent to the French Quarter and is the oldest African-American neighborhood in the United States. Treme' is a vibrant area steeped in music and culture. Come explore this iconic gem and revel in New Orleans Jazz history with its roots in Congo square and Storyville, the birthplace of such Jazz greats as Alphonse Picou and Trombone shorty.

Treme' was originally settled by Free People of Color; often referred to as Creoles, whose unique experience helped shape the civil rights movement. It is the hallmark of African-American history not to be missed. Today, Treme' is home to artists, musicians, and craftsmen and is a living, breathing, joyful piece of New Orleans history.

THIS... was everything and our Tour Guide, Dartanya Croff was knowledgeable, passionate and humorous. The down pour of rain seemed to reflect the cries of the ancestors. The tour was heavy in content yet informative and thought provoking. Great walking tour.

The best tour I took and I took some pretty good ones. The history of Treme is amazing and our tour guide from French Quarter Phantoms was knowledgeable and passionate. I can't say enough about her. You really must take this tour when in NOLA.

When in New Orleans, my wife and I decided to take the 2 walking tour of the Treme' neighborhood (the oldest African-American community in the USA). Our guide was fantastic! I think her name was Tamica. She was very personable, knowledgeable, and just had a great personality!

We had a private walking tour of the Treme with Malikah as our guide. She was knowledgable, engaging and adjusted the pace for our multigenerational family reunion group. We loved it and learned a lot. We would do it again!
