Whenever we travel to a new city we take a hop on/hop off tour. It is a great way to get “the lay of the land” and then we can choose what parts to explore further. This was one of the absolute best tours we have been on! The drivers were amazing in all that traffic and small roads. The guides on the buses were entertaining and informative. I highly recommend the 2 or 3 day pass…it is a great way to get around and these tickets provide walking tours of the Garden district and the French Quarter in their price. While everyone we came into contact with on the tours was great I have to give a huge shout out to Chris. He was our guide for the walking tour of the French Quarter and he was amazing! He is a great storyteller and he was very attentive to each member of the group. We had such a good time with him that no one wanted to leave the tour! All around a terrific experience.

I have been to NOLA the third time, but am I glad we did the City Sightseeing hop on and off bus. We opted for the 2 day which was a great value and came with French quarter and Garden District walking tours apart from the double checker bus that was quite nice to do and informative. When we bought our tickets on March 17th the lady that sold the tickets was very warm and informative. The tour guides on the bus were very good as well and a wealth of information. Our 3p Garden District walking tour guide was very enthusiastic and nice. I dont remember his name, but we did the French Quarter tour on March 18th at around 11am and he was simply the best and super funny and once again a wealth of information about the city. I highly recommend doing this tour. Worth it and great value.

We are very grateful we started our trip with the bus tour and added the walking tours (2 day option). The bus tour was a great way to get our bearings of the city and decide what we wanted to explore further, especially since parking is kind of stressful and expensive in the busy places. Chris led us on the walking tour of the French Quarter and was a highlight of our trip! He was a joy to be around and was extremely knowledgeable and factual.

On March March 14th 2022 we booked 4 one day tickets for the New Orleans hop on hop off bus. We showed up at stop number 18 at 9:30. We waited almost 45 minutes for the first bus to come. We thought it is the beginning of the day and even if the person at the company mentioned a bus every 25 minutes we went along with the longer wait. We boarded the bus and got off at stop number 9 to go to the superdome. Thirty minues later we were back at stop number 9 to hop on to our next stop, number 12 in Garden District. At stop number 9 we waited close to 75 minutes . When the bus came in we were lucky to be able to board as the bus was almot full. Other people wha had arrived at the stop a few minutes after us could not get on. S we were going to Garden district the bus guide offered 12 complimentary spots for a walking tour in Garden district for the inconvenience of waiting, he said. We took it and left with the guide for 45 minutes before coming back to stop number 12. There we waited for another 60-65 minutes before the next bus arrived There we understood why the complimentary tour was offered to us: because you were freeing 12 seats for the many people waiting at the stop. Again we were lucky enough to board it as a lot of people were left at the stop. This second wait, over an hour each, ruined our plan to visit New Orleans with your service. When you have almost 3 hours of waiting in an schedule window of 8, it does not take Price Waterhouse to figure out that this is a failed approach. Since it was then 3pm we decided that instead to go to Frenchmen we went back to our hotel to prepare for the evening. We could not afford to loose another 60 minutes plus of waiting of the bus.
In the past we used the hop on hop off tour many times( New York, san Francisco, Madrid, London,etc) and it was always good. The one in New Orleans is a disaster and reading from past comments it seems that it is the case for a long time, at least back to 2019. In America when you cannot manage a business, you get the hell out of it and give it to someone who can. We did not make any comments to the guide or bus driver because we knew it was not their fault. It is a business that is certainly run by incompetent people who could not care less about their customers. I will post my experience wherever it is asked to do so, because I want to share how this business in New Orleans is poorly managed but also to say that it is not the case elsewhere in America or in Europe.

Very disappointed in our Hop-on-Hop-off experience. We were in New Orleans for Christmas, and had booked our tour for Christmas Eve which turned out to be a very cold and windy day. When we got to the stop by our hotel we saw a notice that we had to go to an alternate stop. We waited a very long time at that stop for a bus that was very crowded but we did manage to get seats. Our plan was to ride to Stop 1 or 2, and get off for a visit to Cafe du Monde, then continue on the circuit. When we got to Stop 2, there was a sign announcing that the last bus at that stop would be at 2:00 p.m. It was 1:50, and we waited for 30 minutes, but no bus. We decided to walk back to Stop 1 to get information, only to be told that yes indeed we missed the last bus. The employees there told us that it would be easy and best to walk to the Basin Street streetcar stop and catch the streetcar back to our hotel on Poydras Street. On that mile long walk, in the cold, in the wind, with our canes, we saw at least 6 buses; no idea what was going on, but what I do know is that we two senior citizens were provided with very poor customer service and very poor information. On the plus side, the few blocks we got to spend with Chris were very informative, enjoyable and we highly recommend him as a tour guide.

for the money i would never do this again. our guide on the bus spoke more about food, the kind he liked, and not much about history or the people. he also told us really corny jokes the whole time. it was tiring after a while. we took the garden district tour, the guide was not very inspired by his job, just went through the speeches at each place. it would be just as easy to do your research and take the streetcar for three dollars for a 24 hour pass, one dollar if you are a senior. also includes the ferry to algiers island. you can cover just as much ground. also the bus is included.we actually did this the day after our hop on hop off, and had a wonderful day. i really think the hop on hop off is a rip off. i think it would be better to pay for a city tour perhaps.

The bus tour is worth the price to get a general idea of New Orleans and then decide what specific areas you want to visit in depth. The buses do tend to be somewhat crowded most of the time.
But the reason for my review is to congratulate Zelda the tour guide, for her great job explaining historical facts of the City but also for making the trip so joyful with her sincere and funny comments.

This tour is expensive, but can be a good way to get around the city for 24 hours if you plan things out and want to reduce walking for a full day of sightseeing. We had a real varied experience of the guides. Our first guide really put us off, saying things that we found offensive and mostly only pointing out places to eat and drink (we wondered if he gets kick backs given how hard he pushed certain places). When we hopped back on later, other guides were better, more culturally aware and pointed out art, architecture and history. If you are looking for knowledge guides and/or prefer businesses that hold perspectives other than “white guy good ole’ boy”, this may not be the best choice for you. If you are looking for a party bus with whitewashed perspectives, you might enjoy this way to see the city.

We purchased the hop-on, hop-off city tour two day pass and it included the French Quarter Walking tour. Money well spent. Our guide Mary was incredibly knowledgable and gave us a fantastic tour of the quarter. We gained knowledge about history, art, culture and much more.

This was the best and most informative thing we did on our trip to New Orleans. It was so easy to use. The stops get you really close to sites around town with very minimal walking. The staff was excellent! A shout out to our bus tour guide no lines Linda for pointing out places that were alternatives and just as good to eat or see as the places with the lines! Zelda was another guide we had on the bus a different time that was so informative and engaging she also remembered us being from Kansas City the next day. The three day package with the guided tours were an amazing deal for very little added cost. Clarence gave us a very interesting tour of the garden district and Alan walked us through the French quarter both guys did a excellent job and answered questions with ease! Lots of historic things to see in New Orleans these folks do a great job of getting you close to seeing them and teaching you how and why they are historic to the city and the country!

There is also a dedicated app for the city sight seeing. It lists all of the stops on the route and an ETA on the next bus coming to the stop you select. Very handy.

No, not for tour bus. Mask was required to board. We rode on to deck, outside and removed mask.
Some bars and restaurants posted "proof of" requirements, but just as many had mask only to enter.
