Hi Odyssey 140621,
My husband and I have ridden segways multiple times in multiple cities (including San Juan, Puerto Rico and Costa Maya, Mexico). It is the best way to see a city, because the tour guides always give a great audio history lesson as you are riding along. Most places do NOT allow you to wear flip-flops during the segway tour, because it is too dangerous. Segways are super easy to learn and use.... but if you have to step off quickly, flip-flops are just not reliable.
The segway tour of the New Orleans French Quarter is one of our favorites. My husband and I highly recommend this fantastic tour. Everyone should go do it, if they have the chance. The tour guide was extremely informative (through the ear plugs provided), and the segway is the perfect way to navigate the area efficiently, and the multiple stops at strategic places allows you to take pictures, ask questions, etc. Perfect!
