I was a little apprehensive having read some of the reviews about not being able to book some attractions in advance. We had no issues. While it's true that One World Observatory and the 9/11 museum cannot be pre-booked with the Pass, we went early and there were no queues. For the Circle Line tours, we went to the pier to book tickets for the following day.

We found the Pass to be very good value, but it takes planning. Planning each day and booking in advance really pays off. You can easily fit in 2 or 3 attractions per day. We bought a 4-day pass and went to 10 attractions (Empire State, Natural History Museum, One World Observatory, 9/11 museum, Madame Tussauds, Ghost Tour of Chelsea Village, Bus Tour of The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, The Ride, Catacombs by Candlelight, Harbour Lights Boat Tour), which individually would have come to 454 dollars per person. The Pass cost 249 each, which saved us 205 dollars each.

The Pass also allowed us to do things we wouldn't have paid for separately, as they are way overpriced. The Ride, for example, is a fun hour of silliness but not worth 79 dollars a ticket.

We bought a CityPass each for our week in NY, as we had already decided which attractions we would like to go and see, Once we had purchased the pass, at the Top of the Rock ticket office, the first one was the Top of the Rock.

After that, it was easy to book the various other options using the app on the mobile phone.

The only negative was that we had to queue for the American Museum of Natural History to compete the issue of tickets although it only took 40 minutes and we had budgeted several hours there, as it was our last day in the US with an evening flight out.

It certainly saved money, and also made us put a bit of planning into the holiday?

We spend a week in New York a family of 4 with this Pass we went to
Empire State Building regular $156 plus tax
9/11 Memorial Museum $82 plus tax
Rockefeller Building $140
Statue of Liberty $71
American Museum $72

And i only miss a museum.

For $450 with no problem at all. You save some cash buying the city pass.

If you truly value your vacation time, buy tickets directly from the museums websites. When you go to the Met or the Museum of Natural History, they will make you get in line to scan your city pass and then give you a printed ticket. On a busy day at the museum of natural history, that could cost you two hours. If you buy tickets online from the museum website, you can skip this . We waited two hours to simply show our city pass at the ticket desk , when had we had tickets from their website we could have gone on in after the security screening. It ruined our experience there; felt tired and rushed. The savings is not worth it. Buy tickets directly from the websites and either download tickets or print them.

CityPass denied publishing below review.

We visited Newyork during last Christmas, 2019 and bought Citypass for 4 Adults. Due to overcrowd we could visit only 4 out of 6 attractions. Even in the 4 attractions which we visited we could not visit 1) Ellis Island 2) No City view in Empire state building 3) Other Museums we could only see 20 to 35%. CityPass allows 9 days to use. However, how many visitors will stay for 9 days in a City ? Even after being a repeated customer, CityPass denied the refund request which is unfortunate. Either City pass should add clear warnings during Holiday season or should be flexible in partial refunding. I would not recommend to buy Citypass if you don't stay for atleast a week during Holiday season. You can plan to buy separate tickets during this season rather than CityPass which will save you lot of money.

Purchased 2 CityPASS tickets which had stated that we would receive 5 attraction in Atlanta that had to be used in 9 days and when we called to make reservations we were told that nothing would be available till April after we had already flown up from Ft Lauderdale Florida and were at our hotel. We found out that the ones that needed a reservations were not available through CityPASS but were available for full price at each attraction. That only 100 CityPASS holders can enter these attractions where 1000s attend. All we were offered was a refund which stated would take up to 15 days, and no compensation for our inconvenience and ruined our vacation.

We were given a two day pass for New Orleans, a kind gift for our anniversary, however because Covid hit the world we didn’t take out holiday. However we’re now in New York for a week and they are now refusing to transfer it.
They expect me to purchase a new one around $390 and then they say my New Orleans pass will be refunded.
Sadly I can’t trust them to do that.
So basically we’ve lost our anniversary present from our children.

This is an excellent value. The only people who didn't like it were the ones who didn't plan it out. Plan it out ahead of time and you'll have a great time and save money! CityPass sends you an email where you can reserve individual attraction times. Do this AHEAD of time! We had our entire itinerary planned out and it all worked out fine. Check the weather! You don't want to go up the Empire State Building or Top of the Rock on cloudy days when the clouds come down over the buildings-you can't see! I didn't see a contingency plan for Empire State but Top of the Rock gave us another return time (time of our choosing) and we got to come back the next day. Just plan your trip out, give yourself plenty of time to get to your attraction on time and you'll be fine. We even got to some early, asked if we could be let in early and they worked it out for us.

This has been on my bucket list for a while, no longer do I have to envy colleagues who have visited. Having a family with growing children meant that considerations were made for our family holiday and often that meant a resort in the sun. This year, despite the children being grown they still enjoy the theme parks of Florida, however, this year we added a trip to New York.
The city certainly was a Wonderful Town and lived up to our expectations. It doesn't have the historic beauty of most European cities, however, it does have it's own beauty and charm. Although we were there for 5 days we did not get to see everything and all the family intend to return. The City Pass was really helpful in not only providing access to some wonderful experiences it helped in finding them. Brilliant.
My only issue was in getting the pass with my voucher. Our hotel was near the Empire State and as were not intending to visit it that day, due to the weather, we wanted to exchange our voucher for passes and the offers within. This proved to be an issue as we had to queue and go through security and the lower exhibition before getting to the ticket counter. Not a major issue but a wasted hour on a busy visit. Better access please.

We went to New York for new year 2019 and knowing we wanted to experience as much as possible while we were there, we purchased the City Pass.
Having the ticket vouchers already paid for and in our bag meant less time spent queuing and more time to enjoy our trip.
We were in NYC for 5 days and we used all of the vouchers except one, which was only down to not feeling 100% on New Year’s Day.
If you’re going and especially if it’s your first time, I can not recommend this City Pass highly enough.
I would suggest trying to plan your activities so that you can do ones near each other on the same day - Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island and 9/11 memorial and museum are all located within a ten minute walk of each other.
Any time we visit another city I will be checking to see if City Pass have a booklet for their too.
