CityPass denied publishing below review.
We visited Newyork during last Christmas, 2019 and bought Citypass for 4 Adults. Due to overcrowd we could visit only 4 out of 6 attractions. Even in the 4 attractions which we visited we could not visit 1) Ellis Island 2) No City view in Empire state building 3) Other Museums we could only see 20 to 35%. CityPass allows 9 days to use. However, how many visitors will stay for 9 days in a City ? Even after being a repeated customer, CityPass denied the refund request which is unfortunate. Either City pass should add clear warnings during Holiday season or should be flexible in partial refunding. I would not recommend to buy Citypass if you don't stay for atleast a week during Holiday season. You can plan to buy separate tickets during this season rather than CityPass which will save you lot of money.

If you truly value your vacation time, buy tickets directly from the museums websites. When you go to the Met or the Museum of Natural History, they will make you get in line to scan your city pass and then give you a printed ticket. On a busy day at the museum of natural history, that could cost you two hours. If you buy tickets online from the museum website, you can skip this . We waited two hours to simply show our city pass at the ticket desk , when had we had tickets from their website we could have gone on in after the security screening. It ruined our experience there; felt tired and rushed. The savings is not worth it. Buy tickets directly from the websites and either download tickets or print them.

It is a scam! Stay away! The refund policy is a joke!
I bought a NYC C3 city pass for 3 attractions for family of 4 and paid $475 CAD for it. We had reservations for all the attractions in advance but due to bad weather one of the attraction i.e. cruise to statue of liberty was cancelled and we didn't get any other time slot for any other day during our stay in NYC which is not our fault.
So, I raised a partial refund request and was hoping to receive a third of money back what I pay for but to my surprise the refund policy is a scam. They charged me the door price for the two attractions we visited while calculating refund and additional $50 for handling fees and I just got mere $47 CAD as a refund.
And I agree with some of the reviewers that you have to wait in line for hours to enter even though you have reservations in advance.

We are very sorry that the original refund amount was miscalculated. The amount has been corrected, and the refund has been processed.

Purchased 2 CityPASS tickets which had stated that we would receive 5 attraction in Atlanta that had to be used in 9 days and when we called to make reservations we were told that nothing would be available till April after we had already flown up from Ft Lauderdale Florida and were at our hotel. We found out that the ones that needed a reservations were not available through CityPASS but were available for full price at each attraction. That only 100 CityPASS holders can enter these attractions where 1000s attend. All we were offered was a refund which stated would take up to 15 days, and no compensation for our inconvenience and ruined our vacation.

We bought a CityPass each for our week in NY, as we had already decided which attractions we would like to go and see, Once we had purchased the pass, at the Top of the Rock ticket office, the first one was the Top of the Rock.
After that, it was easy to book the various other options using the app on the mobile phone.
The only negative was that we had to queue for the American Museum of Natural History to compete the issue of tickets although it only took 40 minutes and we had budgeted several hours there, as it was our last day in the US with an evening flight out.
It certainly saved money, and also made us put a bit of planning into the holiday?

You book your time slot, you turn up and you queue- you queue for hours… absolutely pointless when you can book without the pass…. The only thing it does is give you a small discount perhaps. We turned up at the 9/11 museum and just looked at the queue and didn’t bother. We were fed up with our whole holiday in NYC being just one long queue dictated by the city pass activities, so we looked at the9/11 pools without queuing and got lunch

This was good value but also become a bit annoying. Circle line make it easy as you can book directly using the pass barcode, the museum allows you to book a reserved time, then you still need to queue for tickets. everywhere else involved turning up first, hoping there’s availability, queuing for a ticket, then queuing a second time for entry. It made the trip not as fun as it could have been a took up valuable time. Hopefully they may rectify this so all attractions can be booked directly online with the pass barcode. I wouldn’t use it again as having freedom around the city seems more valuable in NY. The way the pass currently works feel restrictive.

I wish I could give zero stars! These don’t help you skip any line, they actually double your wait times and guarantee they get paid for it even if you can’t get in or decide not to spend an entire day waiting to see one attraction. My friend bought these passes and boy did he get (all of us) duped and ripped off—because they are NOT passes and they EXTEND your wait time to attractions by HOURS. This is a voucher, not a pass. At every attraction, you have to wait in a LONG line to redeem the voucher for a ticket to come back at a later scheduled time—that means after 1-3 hours in line for tickets that you already thought you bought online, you’ll have to wait another 1-5 hours for the next available entry time to that attraction! We tried multiple attractions and saw none bc the wait times would have entailed one entire day of waiting for one attraction. So literally, we saw no attractions with our 3-attraction passes. What a racket!

I had bought City PASSes for our trip to Seattle and enjoyed their value and convenience so much that I decided to do the same for our NYC trip.
Since we did not use all 5 of our options in Seattle, and since we were not particularly interested in some of the options with the NYC pass (I really do wish these were more flexible) we went with the C-3 pass and used them for the Empire State Building, the Circle Line Landmark cruise, and the MoMA (the latter not being an option with the full pass.)
Not only did these passes save us money on these attractions, it also kept all of our tickets together in one place, sent directly to our phones. I was also able to reserve our seats on the Circle Line cruise ahead of time using the link that City PASS provides which enabled us to skip the queue at the ticket counter. Just remember to print your cruise tickets and have them with you when you go.
All in all, these tickets are a great value and very handy.

We got this ticket as recommended by friends. It was easy to use and most of the attraction we booked in advance. I agree with reviews regarding the Natural History Museum, as although time slot allocated you still have to queue to get the ticket with the bar code (tells you when you reserve your time slot).
The rest was pretty good, we saved the intrepid for "emergency" and used it during rain, booked the ticket whilst queuing. So made use of all options. Would have liked to have the MOMA included though as we didn't fancy the Guggenheim. Next time.
Extra hint: When vising the Empire in the morning you can come back after sunset! Worth the view!!!

Hi, my situation was different as have elder children so can't comment on your specific question.
Looking at the NY City Pass website they do provide the details that attractions decide the age limits for different tickets. So it really depends on which attractions you would like to take.
You may want to get in touch with the CityPass team for specifics. Hope you have a great trip.
We are going to New York at Christmas time and I am looking at buying the NY city pass but was wondering when you can Pre book the tickets for the excursions. Thanks.

children under 6 do not pay? If I do not purchase a ticket for my 5 year old, will he have to pay separately for any of the tickets?
