On August 26th August we participated this tour led by Andrea. She did a very good job telling different stories with a lot of enthusiasm. During the tour she kept alert that everybody was close enough to hear what there was to tell. If you have a couple of hours to spare, do not hesitate to join on this tour as this gives you another insight in the earlier times of New York. As promised, Andrea mailed the picture she took from the group the very same night. Unfortunately, she was not on the picture.
Greetings from the Netherlands!

The tour was fantastic- full of history and facts. Not too much walking and great pit stop mid way. Our guide Liz was really excellent- amazing how she quickly knew everyone’s names, was funny and flamboyant in a good way. I had two teenagers who really were not sure on doing this but afterwards said how much they enjoyed it. I would recommend to take tour as to just visit area by yourself you don’t not see half of what the area offers.

Our tour guide, Andrea, was knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. She provided many interesting tidbits about the neighborhoods we visited and gave us good tips on how to manage the rest of our day. She even got us to the subway - not an easy feat for out of town visitors! She handled a disgruntled local "Karen" who was not very receptive to our tour professionally and with grace. The only comment I would make is that we would have appreciated more time built into the tour to get a bite to eat. If you like a bit of history and don't mind walking in a group on the crowded streets of Manhattan, then this tour is for you.

Joker is a Belgian tour operator. We organize adventurous and sustainable group tours worldwide. We've been a pioneer in sustainable tourism since 1981 and our efforts have been valued in Belgium (5 x "Best Sustainable Tour Operator") and internationally (Travelife label).

It is our strong belief that small groups (5 to 14 people) are the best way to explore the world and engage with locals. This is also the reason why we did book a private tour with ExperienceFirst. I must admit that Lauren did a splendid job in explaining the "ins & outs" of this marvelous part of New York. She made sure to interact with the full group and did use her tablet in a very smart way. I can only recommend her as a guide in New York and did receive the same feedback from my participants.

The Tour was amazing! Not only did I learn quite some interesting things about Soho, little Italy and Chinatown, but I also got great recommendations regarding restaurants or other sights to visit after the tour. Laura was a wonderful guide, very kind, welcoming and fun. She had a lot of information and recommendations for all of us and was always open to answer questions or just talk a bit even between the stops. We also got the chance to grab a drink or a bite to eat during a short break in the middle of the tour. The tour was amazing and I absolutely recommend this if you want to learn something about the area. It’s also great for solo travellers who want to meet new people or just don’t want to explore that area on their own.

Liz was such a great tour guide. She showed us some really cool areas of the city and was passionate about the information she shared. She made the tour fun and enjoyable for our entire group. She also made sure to try to interact with everyone in the group while walking between destinations. Would definitely recommend.

Our tour guide was Michaela (sorry if I spelt that wrong). She was passionate and spoke very loud and clearly to the group, which helps when on the side of a busy pavement. We enjoyed the stories about the areas that we walked along and it was nice to have a little break in little Italy, we stopped and had a cannoli from cafe Palermo which was a good recommendation. It was very hot and we were all slightly tired but Michaela was enthusiastic throughout

This tour was a quick way to show you around 3 popular areas of NYC, but not really for the actual history or any unique history. Our tour guide was great, and very friendly, but it was hard to hear him over the crowds and street noise. I would recommend a microphone if possible or headsets. The tour did a great job orientating you and showing you all the key areas in Soho, Little Italy and China Town, but it wasn't a rich with history tour. For the price we could have walked the route ourself. I think for the level of info given on the tour, the price should be half the price we paid.

Hello, thank you for your review of our tour. We do recommend and encourage our guides to use headsets when leading larger sized groups. We'll be sure to investigate this further - your feedback is invaluable for our continuous improvement.

What a great tour of these 3 iconic NY neighborhoods. Many people walk these streets without knowing the history or noticing the big and little details. But Jonathan was the perfect guide and amazing story teller, adapting to the pace of every participant and making sure his point was well understood by a multicultural attendance. We highly recommend!
