Recently went sailing with Captain Greg and had such a great time. Laughed and loved learning about the area. Greg is well informed about the area and reads his audience well to make the trip very memorable.

Such a great experience! Super accommodating in booking at the last minute, affordable, and flexible in sailing where we asked to see the San Diego downtown skyline and Coronado bridge! Our out of town guests said it was the best part of their entire vacation! Jared made the trip so fun with his easygoing personality & snacks. His skill in single-handedly manuevering, let us sit back, enjoy the sun, relax and know we were safe. He provided some interesting facts along the way that taught us a lot we locals did not even know about San Diego. Definitely will be doing this again!

We were scheduled for a whale watching tour but the weather decided we were not going. Cal switched us to the afternoon group sail and even though the waters were choppy Capt' Jake sailed us up close to a docked aircraft carrier, docks with many seals, and very close to the San Diego shoreline to see the city from the water perspective. It was completely different than the other two previous sails I'd been on with Sail San Diego. It was a perfect delight and we loved it. Once again, cannot wait to go back.

My husband and I booked this excursion during a recent trip to San Diego and we couldn't have been more impressed. There was one other group of 3 people on board with us so only 5 passengers plus the captain in total. It was an absolutely incredible experience. This was our first time on a sailboat and Captain Frank was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions we had and also offered some fun facts and information as we sailed along. This was our absolute favorite thing we did on our trip. It felt like a really great value given the fact that there were only 3 other passengers on the boat with us, making it feel almost like a private tour. Highly recommend this excursion!

We had Captain Greg on our tour and it was a fantastic time. My wife and I were paired with another couple and their adult daughter. The man from the other couple steered the boat most of the trip as he was a sailor and had requested to do so.

It was a great trip as Greg kept it lighthearted and assured us that tipping over was virtually impossible.....at least with the weather we were having. The galley was well stocked with snacks and drinks and there was a very small head to use.....although we could not find paper towels.

The trip left on time and we sailed out until we were getting notices on our phones that we were in Mexico. There was a "beanbag" seat for two in the front and several of us tried it. We also were offered princess chairs in the back to get an elevated view. The day was beautiful and it was a good day for sailing.

Greg allowed me to to steer for approximately half an hour and it was fun to steer and make turns in a 42 foot sailboat for the first time. We arrived back just after 3 hours and were all happy we went.

I would highly recommend this excursion.

We have sailed with them before. We’ve done the sunset sails and the day sails. You couldn’t ask for a better place to grab a sail! This trip we had Captain Jack and the next time Captain Rhys…both knowledgeable about the area and willing to do what it takes to make it a great time on their boat.

Happy Captain Greg was the consummate tour guide. His dry wit and knowledge of the area kept us all entertained and interested. After the wind blew my hat off and into the water, Greg did not hesitate to demonstrate his skills in retrieving it, much to the delight of the passengers. SSD is a very well run and laid back tour company with a fine new fleet of boats. I'll be back again next year!

Our work team enjoyed sailing as a team building event. There were 9 of us so we split into 2 boats. The first half of our trip was a race between the 2 boats and the second half was a leisurely sail through the bay.

Our team liked getting to help with the sailing. Theo was our boat’s captain and he did a good job teaching us about sailing and making it a fun experience for our team.

Boat Captain asked what our group of 5 wanted to see. We agreed to head out of harbor a few miles past Point Loma. The captain did a great job explaining the naval subs, the dolphin training and all history in the area. We would not have gotten that on a trip around the harbor. Best 3 hours on on vacation. Thanks sail San Diego
