Our tour guide, Sully was the absolute best!! Our party of 6 truly enjoyed our day walking part of the Freedom Trail and Boston’s amazing North End on the “Food to Freedom Tour” with him. It was a great value for what we received (I did a LOT of research to pick the best tour for our money) and we unanimously gave it a 5/5!! Sully is incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and is easygoing and passionate about his job. He is very respectful of the Bostonians going about their daily lives, speaking loud enough for us to hear, but not obnoxiously loud (with microphones and bullhorns!) like other guides. Sampling the many delicacies found in the North End was the highlight of our day (included in the ticket cost). The freshly baked bread, affogato (a genius blend of espresso and vanilla gelato), cannoli, pizza, Italian subs, and Sam Adams specialty brews left us happy that we also got some exercise! I believe the tour is limited to 12 guests, which was really nice, as we were able to see more hidden gems due to our smaller group size. After the tour, Sully sent a summary of our adventures, which was an added touch that we appreciated. Definitely highly recommend!! (After the tour we had dinner at Carmelita’s (I booked our reservation 2 months in advance because they fill up fast) and had a fabulous and filling meal!! The Sunday Macaroni was a table favorite-so good!!). Great end to a great day!!

Tours like this differentiate by making you think beyond canned history facts. Allison's excellent delivery did a nice job of showing how the Boston water line has changed over time and its direct impact on historical events. Allison was very knowledgeable and quickly adapted to our line of random questions. Of course the food choices make for a wonderful way to learn about the North End. While there is a lot of walking, it was a reasonable pace.

I thoroughly enjoyed this small group tour. It was relaxed and informative. Our tour guide Dillon, clearly knows his history and interesting nuances of Boston. Adding his unique flavor of humor, he expertly guided us through an interesting tour and introduced us to some wonderful places in history connecting history to local bakeries, restaurants and shops. I enjoyed is to much that I scheduled another tour in a few weeks when my boyfriend can be here. If you're looking for something interesting to do and want to sidestep the mainstream large crowd tours, I highly recommend this tour.

This walking food and history tour was so much fun. Our guide, Campbell, was knowledgeable, entertaining and kept us fully engaged. We had a total of 7 in our group which made it easy to get in and out of these small and out of the way Italian bakeries and cafes. He even sent out a detailed email following the tour which was basically a reenactment of everything we did incl lists of the restaurants and bakeries, landmarks and the many other features of the freedom trail. I had run the Boston marathon the day before so a walking tour was a great way to recover.

This was a great way to spend a day in Boston and see as much as possible. Nabil was a great guide, very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the city. I even mentioned at the start of the tour that I wanted to see some snow in Boston and he made it happen before the end of the tour (joking!). I have been to Boston before and walked around but this tour helped me to see places I would never find myself and allows you to understand the true culture of the city.

This walking tour was phenomenal. The guide, Sully, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and fun! The food we ate was delicious. If you plan on doing this walking tour, which I’d highly recommend, bring a water bottle and good walking shoes, especially if you’ve been walking around the city for a few days already. The tour is a decent length— around 5 miles. All in all, so happy I went on this tour!

Nabil was our guide and he was wonderful. Nabil was charismatic, funny and knowledgeable. He really made the tour feel personal. Their were only three of us for the North side then two others joined us for the Freedom trail portion. I was on the tour alone and a little nervous about not knowing anyone. However, all three of us woman in the morning were traveling alone and I immediately felt welcome and part of the group. As we walked around we saw several other tour groups with countless people. Too many to go into many of the spots on the North side. This tour maxes out at twelve. Nabil knew many people personally on the North side. This added to his charm. We visited a bread bakery, a cappuccino and pastry bakery that took us back in history. My favorite stop was a pizza and bakery that has been passed down for generations. One of the family came out and talked to us. For the second part of our trip Nabil spent extra time with our group sharing interesting facts about the places we visited. The next time I'm in town I will be requesting him personally. Nabil also sent us an itinerary of places we visited and suggestions on places to visit and explore on our own. This was an amazing day, and now when I return to Boston this summer I know exactly where I need to go.

We spent 5+ hours with Keith aka Sully visiting restaurants that only a local would know and hearing history of the people and city of Boston. Sully, clearly a history buff, seemed to know the history of every building, park and graveyard in the city. In fact, he was delighted to indulge with detailed answers to frequent and sometimes random questions from our small group tour (10 people). Great sense of humor and very helpful in providing recommendations and directions for future destinations in Boston.

My husband and I received this food walking tour as a gift from our nephew and his girlfriend. We chose a Saturday in July to attend and we had a lot of fun with Conner Bourgoin as our guide! Even though we have lived in the Boston area for 30 years, we still learned a lot on this tour about different historical bits and some 'hidden' food secrets! Always nice to see Boston through a fresh set of eyes and discover new things. We had cannoli and cappucino at Cafe Vittoria, pizza at Pizzeria Regina (the original!), an Italian sandwich and Caprese sandwich at Salumeria Italiana and fresh baked bread from Bricco. Can't wait to go back and explore some of Conner's recommendations that he gave us along the way! Highly recommend for foodie out of towners that want a 'real' taste of the Boston's North End!

An excellent tour of the city with plenty of both historical and fun facts. I highly recommend this tour for your first day in the city, as Bob took us to places “only the locals will go to,” but also pointed out the well known restaurants and attractions. The tour is the full five hours, so I would not suggest this for children.
