A Mountain Bike Tour As Sensational as the Scenery!
Apr 2021
I can't imagine there is another mountain biking tour company near Moab that is better than Rim Tours. They were that outstanding! I spent a fair amount of time researching activities for my visit to Utah, and I scheduled a mountain biking tour with Rim Tours for my 23-year old son and me on the Dead Horse Point single track. Every aspect of the tour was top notch. The communication and reservation process with Rim Tours was simple and helpful. I really wanted to try the Dead Horse Canyon single track because of the spectacular scenery I had seen in photos. However, I was concerned that never really having tried mountain biking, I would spoil the experience for others if I participated in a group setting. After consulting on the phone with Rim Tours, I decided on a private tour--which was WELL WORTH IT. I would highly recommend it if you are new to the sport! The bikes were in perfect condition, which made the tour more comfortable and enjoyable than I anticipated. Jeff was our tour guide and he was absolutely stellar! He provided just the right balance of instruction, helpful guidance, positive reinforcement, and fun! His love of the sport and his knowledge and respect for the region just emanated from him, and after spending the day with him, it felt like we had known him for a long time. This tour is really a "must-do" experience in Moab and I would highly recommend Rim Tours based on my experiences. I echo the comments from other reviewers and repeat what they have said: "Thank you Jeff (and Rim Tours) for an experience that my son and I will always remember! (Read the review titled "10/10 Half Day Dead Horse Canyon". I had the same exceptional experiences as that reviewer!)

10/10 Half-Day Dead Horse Tour with our guide, Jeff
Apr 2021 • Couples
Prior to our Utah Trip, I spent a good amount of time researching an adventure for our weekend getaway. I came across an overwhelming amount of positive reviews for Rim Tours mountain biking on various travel sites, and decided to book a tour based on the phenomenal experiences shared by others. Because there are so many positive reviews already, there is no need for me to write another one that echos other’s... which brings me to my point, that this tour is 100% worth taking the time to add another positive review to the pile!

#1. The office staff had great communication. I booked our tour over the phone and they helped me decide which location to choose based on our desired outcomes for the trip and our skillsets. Booking was easy (thanks Beth!). Received a confirmation e-mail right away, and then multiple follow-up e-mails as we got closer to our trip. Additionally, another staff member recognized that I might have misinterpreted an e-mail and IMMEDIATELY called me the morning of our tour to clarify and confirm our meeting location. I really appreciated that Melissa called to assure a smooth pick-up the morning of.

#2. The full-suspension Santa Cruz bikes were awesome! So much so, that I’m considering purchasing my own Juliana or Bronson. I forgot to pack my mountain bike gloves and was concerned that I’d develop blisters on our tour... but was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the foam grips. I had no issues or discomfort during our half-day trip.

#3. Views at Dead Horse Point State Park are jaw dropping. If you’re looking for views, the loop won’t disappoint. La Sal provided a beautiful back-drop. I’ve only mountain biked twice in my life, and found the trail to be a little challenging but super rewarding!

#4. This company is environmentally conscious and knowledgeable. We learned to protect the biological crust and to be aware of where we were riding/stepping. They also did an awesome job with COVID-19 protocols and health precautions.

#5... which should have been written as #1 was our personal guide, Jeff. He was extremely patient, positive and encouraging. Jeff always gave us advanced notice before approaching big features and took the time to coach us on technique so we were adequately prepared to take them on. I struggled with one section and Jeff allowed me to try it as many times as I wanted while providing me advice so I could hopefully conquer it. Jeff was nonjudgmental if there were intimidating features I wanted to skip and walk the bike over. Though Jeff was knowledgeable and informative, we liked that he was not TOO serious. His light-hearted personality and wit made him enjoyable to spend time with (so much so that we would have loved to extend our tour just to have more time with him). He is full of rich life experiences, which made conversation with him thought-provoking and enjoyable. It was evident that Jeff is passionate about delivering quality mountain biking skills instruction. He did an outstanding job tailoring his coaching to me and my husband’s differing abilities. Though I was more of a novice rider, he provided equal attention to my husband’s more advanced skillset and even took the time to teach him a few tricks in the parking lot. Jeff went above and beyond providing water & snacks for us, capturing our picture at scenic viewpoints and pulling off the road to show us some petroglyphs. THANK YOU, Jeff, for an unforgettable Utah experience! We hope to cross paths with you again!

Great mountain biking trip!
We had a blast on this half day outing. Our guides were Ezra and Bryan and they were great with our total group of 8. Both guides were knowledgeable, very helpful and outgoing. We would highly recommend this trip. We booked a date in late March 2021 and it happened to be windy and chilly in the morning with some ice in a few of the rock potholes that had water in them when we started but as we rode a bit more into the trees, there was less wind and it warmed up. If you go in the morning on a chilly day, I suggest you wear gloves and wear a hood under your helmet to help keep your head and ears warm. We all had hooded sweatshirts and jackets. Dress in layers. The bikes were really nice full suspension bikes that were perfectly sized for each of us and the trail/ride was beginner to intermediate as advertised. The views were outstanding and we all made it to the end of the ride, including my 9 year old daughter.

This was the best part of our trip! Karl and Sam were our guides and they made the trip even more fun. We had different levels of riders in our group so we were able to split up in order to meet everyone's needs. I highly recommend this tour and company. The equipment was outstanding. The guides were so fun, experienced and knowledgable. We all learned a lot from Sam and Karl. Great day!!

My daughter and I did a private tour with Don up to Dead Horse Point and he did an amazing job! We are both new to mountain biking and Don helped us feel comfortable and provided much information about the area. I highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again. Thank you for making our trip to Moab memorable!

Two great half days mountain biking with Rim tours. Day one at Dead Horse Point and day two at North Klondike Bluffs. This was a great plan for our kids 15 and 12 and they had an absolute blast. Guides were great, trails were so fun. Wonderful communication with the office and everyone super friendly and helpful.

Excellent company and experience
Jul 2020
These guys were great from start to finish. Very easy to work with on the phone. When they arrived they had top notch dual suspension Santa Cruz bikes with lots of water, a free water bottle and snacks. but, the best part was Sam, our guide. he made sure we found a trail that was fun for us but also pushed us a bit. And, when the teenagers in our group wanted to do a bit more, he found small technical patches that they could "session" with him over and over while the others watched. Sam actually rides professionally so was able to give real tips. Even small items like the rack they have on their roof made it easy to get started quickly and kept standing around to a minimum.

We liked it so much that we adjusted our plans and went back with Sam the next day and did it again. Great experience start to finish.

Totally awesome mountain biking in Moab!!
Jun 2020
We had such a fun and challenging adventure mountain biking at Dead Horse with our knowledgeable and cool tour guide, Sam. He was the perfect guide for those of us in the group who were experienced mountain bikers to those of us who were beginners. Sam is a very patient teacher and cheered us on the whole way! He was so much fun to spend the day with! My teenage boys had a blast. The vistas and look outs were amazing, the bikes fit perfectly, the trails were beautiful and also challenging, and we couldn't have had a better tour guide than Sam. This was my 15 year old son's favorite tour in Moab. I can't recommend this bike tour highly enough!

Mountain Biking in Moab

We had a great time on our mountain biking guided tour with Rim Tours. Brian was our guide and he was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. Booking the ride was easy and communication was great. We were fairly new to mountain biking and Brian did a great job setting the pace and keeping us comfortable on a beautiful trail that was just challenging enough for a 14 year old and 12 year old. He was a real pro!
