Firstly I have to say that the One Day Walking Tour was cancelled on the planned morning. This was due to the tour guide unfortunately being in a road traffic accident. Whilst we were disappointed, this is out of anyone’s hands. Dara was in touch early that morning and was hugely apologetic and arranged for a prompt refund of the fee.
As a compromise we were offered the shorter Fisherman’s Wharf tour FOR FREE. Our guide was Robert. He was very knowledgeable on the area and offered a witty and informative tour. This was really enjoyable and gave us a good introduction to the area.

It was a great pleasure for my wife and I to spend 5 hours walking around a few of the neighbourhoods of SF with our tour guide. Eric is a many generation SF devotee with lots of very interesting stories to tell about a city he clearly loves. We would strongly recommend seeing SF with Eric on this tour - you’ll be enriched by the experienced.

The walking tour is amazing. You go walking most of the day and then take the cable with your guide. The group is small, going at a slow pace and stopping for coffee and lunch. John is an amazing guide, he shares historical facts in a funny and entertaining way.

We did this tour on the first day of our first visit to San Francisco and it was a great Introduction.
The walking tour lasted 6 hours. Our guide, Dara, kept it interesting, which made the time fly by. We started on Fisherman's Wharf, by the cable car turntable and finished at Union Square, where you are given a ticket for the cable car (an absolute must), back to Fisherman's Wharf. In between we did North Beach, Chinatown, the Financial district and The Embarcardo. Caught the Metro to the Tenderloin, then a tram to Union Square.
We really enjoyed it. Dara was an interesting guide. Would highly recommend this tour.

We did this tour during COVID-19 and it was perfect! So happy that Dara was willing to work with our family of five. We walked and drove our car instead of public transport. We felt completely safe. The tour was so informative and fun! I made a huge list of museums to visit when they all open up again. I would have never found all the little stores and learned the rich history on my own. Definitely a memorable tour during a memorable time. Thank you Dara!!

Fabulous tour and overview of San Fransisco. Chet is an amazing tour guide. Informative and knowledgeable. He is upbeat and fun. Chet keeps the tour flowing with stops to keep the group revived. I would recommend this tour if you are going to be in San Francisco. He helped us get back on the Streetcars and stayed with us until we were in the vicinity of where we needed to be. Chet is fantastic!!

This is the ideal way to start a visit to San Francisco as a first time visitor. It was a very comprehensive and detailed walk (and some ride). Dara was a very enthusiastic and informative guide who covered the history and background to San Francisco very well. Make sure you have good footwear as you will be walking a fair way. Highly recommended.

best place to park & getting back to my car?

There is plenty of parking facilities along the waterfront, particularly Pier 39, which is near the start of the tour. The tour guide can help you tailor the tour so that it ends near to the car park if that helps, or direct you to the appropriate tram which will take you back to the car park.

Do we walk all the time or use transportation also

Walk mostly. We took a streetcar on the last part to get us back to Fisherman's Wharf. You have a short break for a quick brunchish bite to eat about 10:30am for about 45 minutes. You have about an hour and a half for lunch in the middle of the day. Wear good shoes. It is a great Tour.

We stopped in Chinatown to make a fortune cookie. You can eat lunch in Little Italy if you want.
