Our guide Brian was absolutely fantastic! He made our tour with his knowledge and humour, he plays videos on the journey there and back to help you understand the history and current events at the park.

We went end of March on our tour and the weather was absolutely perfect, we had lots of cloud and mist at first which made for really good atmospheric photos, then we had some sun which was really nice and on the way through the park we had some snow! During the tour we managed to see a bear and Brian did his best to swing the van around so we could get a good look at the bear, Brian also packs binoculars, telescopes and a great camera which he used to take some photos of the Bear and he sent them to us a couple of days later.

The van that we had was a Mercedes sprinter type tour bus, the seat space isn’t the greatest in all honesty but the scenic route and entertainment from the driver and the DVDs are enough of a distraction and isn’t a deal breaker.

On the way we stopped off at a retail park where there is a supermarket that sells everything including some sandwiches and pastry items with a coffee bar… so don’t worry if you can’t get anything before the journey as you stop there and can stock upon supplies. It was at this stop that Brian advised we got some travel sickness pills just incase as there is a bit of a winding road up the mountain, so that might be something worth packing to take with you from the start.

Unfortunately the giant sequoia tree route has been closed off by the park, completely out of the guises hands due to safety, which just meant we got to stop off at more vista points and spend more time there.

If you’re spending time in San Francisco, if you have a day free and if you even remotely like nature and mountains then do not hesitate to book on this tour the company was fantastic their communication was spot on. Brian would email a day before to confirm if you’re still coming and if you’re still staying at the same place… after he’s heard back from all the guests he then gives you an ETA which was spot on.

We did the Yosemite tour and I can't say enough good things about our experience. First, we originally booked for a Saturday and a few days before ran into some scheduling issues and I thought we were going to have to cancel. I spoke by phone with Phil who went above and beyond to work things out for us and shifted some things around so we could still go. So already I'm amazed by this company. Then on the day of the tour, our tour guide was Brian. He was a phenomenal tour guide. Not only is he knowledgeable and excited about Yosemite, he has excellent people skills and is great in front of groups. The day started just before 5am when we departed an hour earlier to avoid lines at the park and were picked up by Brian at our hotel. Midway through the drive up, Brian stopped at a grocery store so we could pick up breakfast/coffee/lunch for later in the day. The whole drive up Brian showed various Yosemite videos as well as sharing photos to prepare us for what we would see. When we got to the park, Brian stopped at key points and assisted with photos. Midway through the day he stopped in an area where we had free time for lunch and to explore things on our own. Later in the day we stopped by El Capitan where he had binoculars and a telescope so we could try to find people climbing on it (we learned a ton about rock climbing today too). Towards the end of our Yosemite visit we stopped by the Tuolumne sequoias. We went on a hot day, and Brian had plenty of cold water available in his cooler and offered it to us regularly throughout the day. On the drive back, Brian stopped at a farm stand as well as a grocery store. We would definitely book a tour with this company again - thank you Brian and Phil for a fantastic experience!

Absolutely the best tour we have ever taken! The scenery was magnificent, but our tour guide Brian made every part of the trip phenomenal!! His ability to engage, entertain and share his knowledge made the trip worth every penny. I would definitely go again.
Just a heads up though, the hike to the sequoia 's was tough for someone out of shape 🙄

Because car rentals are now a Premium, I sought an excursion out of San Francisco that would take us to Yosemite National Park. Tour guides, Brian and Phil, made this a very good decision on my part. They went out of their way to make the trip happen, having realized a lack of AC on one of their smaller buses and having labored to secure a larger bus that accommodated our two smaller groups. Brian picked us up (and later dropped us off) at our hotel at 6:00 am and took us to the larger bus where Phil was waiting to accompany our tour. He provided good information en route and stops along the way—including a food store where those who wished could buy a picnic lunch rather than having to take time in the Park’s cafe. Phil also had good suggestions for best time usage around Yosemite Falls and the Sequoia Grove. Our time in the Park made for a wonderful day, and we were back at our hotel by 9:00 pm. If a day seeing highlights in Yosemite is on your bucket list, I recommend this tour!

The tour is well conceived and executed. Best bay area yours and our guide Phil are the best in organising and ensuring that smallest details like bringing a big telescope to view the rock climbers at El Capitan is taken care of. He would wait for the last guy to return patiently..his narrations and selection of songs through the whole day are world class. Onenof my best lifetime tours. I really recommend this to all.

As east coast residents, trying to find the perfect Yosemite day trip in San Fransisco almost feels impossible with all the options presented to us. However, by some stroke of luck, we had the most incredible day trip with Brian from Bay Area Best Tours. Not only did he make communication leading up to the day simple and easy to follow, he also had the rare talent of being a fun, informative, enjoyable tour guide. Many times when booking a tour like this one, the guide can either be exhausting or leaving you wanting more. Brian did an excellent job teaching us about the history of Yosemite, keeping the energy high (with a 6am start and 9pm finish, that alone is impressive), showing us how to get the perfect pictures, and taking the perfect pictures of me and my husband throughout the day. We really felt like he enjoyed our company, and we certainly enjoyed his. If you have the opportunity to go to Yosemite for one short day while you’re in San Fransisco, we couldn’t recommend Bay Area Best Tours and their guide, Brian, more. Thank you for the most wonderful day of our vacation!

A truly fantastic trip to Yosemite made even better by our wonderful guide Brian!

I'd highly recommend this trip - it's a long day you're starting it starting before 6am but it's totally worth it for the incredible views and sites that you see in Yosmite. We were on a small mini bus that made the tour feel very personal rather than being on a big crowded couch and we had plenty of stops for bathroom breaks food and drinks.

Even though it's a long drive (approx. 4hrs each way) Brian kept us truly entertained with his passionate knowledge of the parks and the fantastic documentaries about the history of the park and about the climbers who've scaled it's peaks over the decades.

The tour itself has all the best bits of Yosemite. We had time exploring the park & lots of time to take photographs and just savour the fantastic views. The only thing we didn't get to see was the giant sequoias but Brian and warned us at the beginning of the trip that this probably wouldn't be possible due to snowfall in the area in the recent days beforehand.

If you're thinking about doing a trip to Yosemite I'd highly recommend this one, had an absolutely phenomenal day and I will definitely be back!

Also I was a solo traveller & Brian was super helpful in offering to take pictures for me, which I thought was really kind.

What a tour! Yosemite is beautiful beyond words and did not disappoint. Though a (long) day trip, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who's short on time in San Francisco, and having lived in SF for six years myself, part of enjoying the bay is exploring the amazing and scenic backdrops just hours away. On top of the serene and surreal magnitude of Yosemite, our tour guide and driver, Phil, was probably the best guide I've had on my worldwide adventures. He really goes the extra mile to ensure you see the most you can during your time there, even bringing his own binoculars & telescope so we could see climbers free climbing. The small group tour, multiple outside stops, and Phil's attention to disinfecting surfaces inside the vehicle, made this a great & safe covid excursion.

Great day! Although it was long, it was well broken up. We stopped at a great family market that had fresh fruits and other yummy unique snacks. Loved the push pin maps for customers to place a pin to represent where they were from.
Yosemite is beyond words, just stunning! Our tour guide Victor was comical and shared fun facts along the way making this long day more bearable! I will admit it was a narrow and curvy road getting close to the park. We did do the walk to the Sequoia’s but only part of the tunnel tree remains and unless really fit would suggest skipping that part of the tour and visit Muir Woods instead (close to San Francisco).Overall, would highly recommend this tour and don’t forget to tip your driver.

This was an amazing tour! Best Bay Area Tours managed to deliver a fun, activity packed (but not too packed) day at incredible Yosemite. Guests on the tour ranged from age 4 (ish) to seniors and everyone had a great time. Our guide Brian clearly loves his job (he worked at Yosemite a few years ago) and managed our tour from every angle. He made sure we arrived before the traffic jam at the entrance (due to the park's new reservation system) which meant we were able to avoid lines and crowds; took us to so many beautiful vantage points, gave us a brief history of the park and answered any and all questions--while making sure we had adequate rest/souvenir/food stops and free time to explore on our own. I was originally booked on an overnight Yosemite tour with another company that canceled with little notice (and they were rude about it to boot), but it turned out for the best since I'm certain Best Bay Area Tours provided a much better tour and showed me as many sights in the one day. I'm already trying to book another tour with them on my next trip to SF!
