Overview
Avoid the hassle of making parking reservations—and the chaos of the parking lot at Muir Woods—with this tour that includes round-trip transportation from San Francisco. Leave the navigation to someone else as you relax on a comfortable ride to Muir Woods National Monument. You’ll explore the old-growth redwood forest before driving through Sausalito or stopping at the Golden Gate Bridge on your way back to the big city.
What to Expect
This Muir Woods tour picks up from Fisherman’s Wharf, unless you’ve made other arrangements for pickup from your hotel or the airport.

Once you hop aboard your comfortable air-conditioned coach for the day, sit back and relax on your way over to the national monument. Take in views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the surrounding scenery. Your guide tells you all about the San Francisco Bay Area on your drive.

At Muir Woods, get dropped off right out front of the entrance and avoid the chaos of parking. Your admission ticket is also included. Spend time admiring the 1,000-year-old redwood trees that are native to California.

Afterward, on your return drive to San Francisco, pass through Sausalito for more views of the ocean. If you're on the 4:30pm tour, you'll skip the drive through Sausalito and stop at the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset instead. Your Muir Woods tour ends back at your departure point.

LOVE this place

So quiet and peaceful. Love that is is part of the national park system. Clean and quiet and would go back and spend more time.

Beautiful but was expecting more

The redwoods and the forest are beautiful and worth the visit. But don't expect to see 20ft diameter trees or a gazillion feet tall. I suspect those may be elsewhere in the forest that visitors might not be able to a access....but it is a...More

Short but sweet tour of Muir Woods

On our last day in SF we had a morning open and decided to try to head to Muir Woods for a half day adventure. We found Tower Tours from another tour group who wasn’t running a half-day tour on the day we needed it....More

This was our second time visiting Muir Woods and it was just as amazing as the first time. Our driver/guide, Willie, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He picked us up at our hotel, though you can also make your way pretty easily to their offices...More

Ours was 3 hours. One hour drive time to get there. 55 minutes actually IN the park, and another hour drive back... It was a huge disappointment. Just drive yourself and not use the tour company. Being in the park was... More

The first part of the path from the parking lot is a fairly level wooden boardwalk with trails that fan out and up dirt paths. You could walk about a half mile to The Cathedral Grove and see the huge redwoods and ground... More
