About the operator
- 752eithner00Highly recommendedThe guides were well organised and very good. It was a wonderful experience. We saw deer and I learnt more about the myths relaingvto Glendalough
- Backpacker10000Amazing tour done solo with a lovely intimate group and two fantastic tour guides!I saw an ad for this tour on insta and I'm a big fan of glendalough but this seemed like a unique opportunity to see it in a different way. I booked to go alone and the tour group were lovely as were the guides. The opportunity to go and see Glendalough in daylight through to sunset, dusk and then darkness was amazing. You do need to be prepared for a hard slog....I've never hiked before so was able for this no problem but need to be prepared for uneven ground and concentration required esp towards the end as the ground becomes more uneven and the darkness has completely fallen. At one point towards the end I did wonder why I wanted to walk round in the dark when I couldn't see anything but when you get to the lakeshore and stop to take in the breathtaking view of the starry sky, its all worth it!! Absolutely cannot recommend this enough, would definitely do it again!
- Journey6656235547400Need for more attention to safety in the mountainsThe idea of the night hike and the route chosen was really good. The historical and environmental information given by one of the leaders was interesting. However, the information about the challenge of the walk was not sufficient. It was 14k and 400metre elevation and we were only told this when we arrived. One if our group did not have enough experience and especially at night to manage this and became unwell. As there was only two leaders for a large group, there was insufficient contingency. When our friend had to leave the walk ,one of the leaders would have allowed her to return alone. I went back with her and the rest of our group continued. In fairness they thoroughly enjoyed the walk. However if the leaders had good mountain leader training they would have done more to ensure that people coming on the walk had the capacity for the challenge and there would have been a better contingency plan. I would not recommend the company unless they put more emphasis is safety in the mountains.
- leggslanigan00Highly recommendFantastic tour from start to finish with historic and nature facts along the way. Plenty of stops along the way for snacks and photos of the fantastic scenery
- patriciahD1195UP00Glendalough at night. Breathtaking!Amazing tour! Reese was an excellent guide and extremely knowledgeable and so friendly. I will definitely be joining another event at Wild Summits. Highly recommend.
- jansredmond00A hike well worth doingThe Wicklow night hike is an amazing experience. The scenery and atmosphere set an unique experience. The hike was a challenge but my group all felt amazing that we had completed it. Our guides were very knowledgeable about the area and made the information interesting and funny.
- Dave B00A night to remeberMyself and my 16 year old son went on the night hike last night and have to say it was an amazing experience. The guide Reece is a fantastic guy and not only a skilled climber but also a brilliant history guide. He made it an amazing experience for us. Hike took approx 5 hours and the group was about 20. A diverse group of family, Couples and single individuals. Very safe at all times and there was no pressure with the priority being safety first. Will be doing another hike with these guys.
- razziledazzile700Great hike! What an incredible hike. It was EXTREMELY difficult. I would consider it more than moderate level. BUT it was an awesome hike and I pushed my self harder than I ever have. Be sure to dress appropriately. I wore lined pants because I thought it would cool off after it rained and I was drenched in sweat. The guides were knowledge and very helpful. Great hike!!
- EireGiGi00Hiking and Camping in the Comeragh mountainsThanks to Mark for a wonderful trip and knowledge filled experience in the Comeragh mountains. Mark was very organised and a pleasure to deal with and to be around for the duration of the trip. We would highly recommend this trip for those who enjoy a challenge in the mountains and want to get out and experience nature. This is the second time we have booked with Wild Summits and would not hesitate to do so again in the future. Best of luck to Mark and the Wild Summits team for their future adventures.
- mcbroisin00Glendalough Night Hike 5*Mark was an amazing guide. I hike Glendalough a lot but have never done a night hike. I would highly recommend this tour. Really fantastic experience!
- Excursion17968500Magical evening in GlendaloughAbsolutely magical hike. It's a stunning location but having the opportunity to experience it well into the evening is absolutely unique and unforgettable. The animals become more active and relax as the evening sets and you really feel one with nature. Mark & Reece were brilliant with their commentary, support and encouragement throughout the hike. I went home with such a happy feeling, I would do this again in a heartbeat.
- enaud1700Glorious Glendalough!A fantastic way to see Glendalough & its’ wildlife up close lead by very experienced & knowledgeable guides. Thanks Mark & Reece!
- Des-soon00Great trip!Great experience and well taken after from the trip! We had a great time! Thanks to Mark and Sam for being great guides!
- G5852ZUmariar00Hiking & Camping in the Comeragh Mountains with Wild SummitsThis is the second time we do join Mark on an activity, and like the first time, it didn't disappoint! We got to learn a few things about map reading and how to guide yourself in the mountain that I found really interesting and helpful. I love how he adapts the trip to the weather and the group, because of this we would quite probably do it again since every trip is going to be different. Mark and Sam (the second guide) were really nice, always willing to help, answer questions, and have fun. The dinner at the campsite after the long day hike was exactly what we needed and we got to unwind around a fire which was the cherry on top. Would recommend 100%, you need to be in good shape to do it, but it's pretty doable.
- ashc92900Hiking & Camping in the Comeragh Mountains with Wild SummitsAmazing first experience of the Comeragh Mountains with Mark from Wild Summits. We had a beautiful sunny day and amazing views over Crottys Lake and Coumshingaun. The hike is advertised as difficult but Mark was great at setting a comfortable pace for everyone and making sure all were okay. He took the time to teach us some navigation skills during the day too which was really helpful. At the end of our long hike, we came back to a beautiful campsite and Mark made sure we were well fed! A toasty campfire was the cherry on top! All in all I really enjoyed the entire experience and I’d definitely join Wild Summits for future adventures.

I went on this guided tour with my partner in April for my birthday. Mark and Dave were lovely guides. I got to learn so much even though I visited Glendalough a few times before! They were very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The pick up from Dublin was great as we wouldn't have been able to go otherwise. Great experience overall and looking forward to going on more tours with this company.

This was a great day trip to Glendalough and I really recommend it. If you are visiting Ireland, it is definitely a good way to get out of Dublin and Wild Summits make the whole experience so easy with the organised transport. The guides are full of information about the old monastery and the history of Glendalough and I learned a lot throughout the day. Without a doubt, spending a day this way is not to be missed.

How do I sum this experience up without writing paragraphs upon paragraphs!
In short this is a hassle free way to visit Wicklow, the transport was well organised and afforded us time to check out the stunning scenery along the way. The tour itself is probably one of the best tours I have been on. I am not usually one to book onto a guided tour but this experience has changed my mind on that. Mark was our guide on the hike and was full of energy, humour and in depth knowledge of the area both in terms of its human and natural history. Mark made everyone feel welcome and ensured the group were moving along the trail at a pace that suited us all. The highlight for me was learning about the different types of woodland we travelled through and of course the amazing view from the ridge where we stopped for a break. Thanks again Wild Summits, I will be back again soon.

I took this trip in April as a solo traveler. The meeting point is super handy and the guides are sound.
Glendalough is a stunning place . I hadn't done the spinc before, the start can be tough but the views are worth it.
Great for solo traveler or those without transport.

This was our second tour with Wild Summits. We were lucky enough to have both Mark and Dave on the tour.
They are great guides and have a fantastic knowledge of the area. The bus pickup was only 15 minutes on the luas from Heuston station which helped avoid the Dublin traffic getting out .

Are hiking boots necessary for this trip? I will be traveling from the US and packing light--I will have good supportive sneakers but not my hiking boots. Will that be enough? Thank you.
