Watch Sika deer graze as the sunsets, stargaze as we pass through the miners village and travel through the 6th century Monastic site in darkness. On top of this, your guide will entertain you with all the culture and history that this amazing place has to offer.

Spectacular Views, Knowledgeable Guide & Convenient Transport
Want to hike the gorgeous Glendalough Valley while staying in the Dublin area without a car? This experience is the only bus tour that allows enough time to hike this spectacular part of the Wicklow Mountains. The pickup/drop off was conveniently located at the Red Cow Luas Station (the red line Tram that runs east-west through Dublin). As an avid hiker, I usually don't hike with a tour guide, but with a valley that is so steeped in history, I really appreciated having Mark as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the land and the rich history of the region. I went on this tour with a group of 8 hikers with varying levels of experience. Mark did a fantastic job keeping the group together by going at a manageable pace and taking regular breaks to allow the slower hikers to catch up and take a breather. I highly recommend this hike, just be prepared for Irish weather and dress in layers! During our 4 hours on the trail, we had hot sun, cloudy skies, drizzle, and steady rain with wind.

Hiking and Camping in the Comeragh mountains
Thanks to Mark for a wonderful trip and knowledge filled experience in the Comeragh mountains. Mark was very organised and a pleasure to deal with and to be around for the duration of the trip. We would highly recommend this trip for those who enjoy a challenge in the mountains and want to get out and experience nature. This is the second time we have booked with Wild Summits and would not hesitate to do so again in the future. Best of luck to Mark and the Wild Summits team for their future adventures.

Hiking & Camping in the Comeragh Mountains with Wild Summits
This is the second time we do join Mark on an activity, and like the first time, it didn't disappoint! We got to learn a few things about map reading and how to guide yourself in the mountain that I found really interesting and helpful. I love how he adapts the trip to the weather and the group, because of this we would quite probably do it again since every trip is going to be different. Mark and Sam (the second guide) were really nice, always willing to help, answer questions, and have fun. The dinner at the campsite after the long day hike was exactly what we needed and we got to unwind around a fire which was the cherry on top. Would recommend 100%, you need to be in good shape to do it, but it's pretty doable.

Hiking & Camping in the Comeragh Mountains with Wild Summits
Amazing first experience of the Comeragh Mountains with Mark from Wild Summits. We had a beautiful sunny day and amazing views over Crottys Lake and Coumshingaun. The hike is advertised as difficult but Mark was great at setting a comfortable pace for everyone and making sure all were okay. He took the time to teach us some navigation skills during the day too which was really helpful. At the end of our long hike, we came back to a beautiful campsite and Mark made sure we were well fed! A toasty campfire was the cherry on top! All in all I really enjoyed the entire experience and I’d definitely join Wild Summits for future adventures.

      Great experience
I went on this guided tour with my partner in April for my birthday. Mark and Dave were lovely guides. I got to learn so much even though I visited Glendalough a few times before! They were very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The pick up from Dublin was great as we wouldn't have been able to go otherwise. Great experience overall and looking forward to going on more tours with this company.

      A night to remember!
How do I sum this experience up without writing paragraphs upon paragraphs! In short this is a hassle free way to visit Wicklow, the transport was well organised and afforded us time to check out the stunning scenery along the way. The tour itself is probably one of the best tours I have been on. I am not usually one to book onto a guided tour but this experience has changed my mind on that. Mark was our guide on the hike and was full of energy, humour and in depth knowledge of the area both in terms of its human and natural history. Mark made everyone feel welcome and ensured the group were moving along the trail at a pace that suited us all. The highlight for me was learning about the different types of woodland we travelled through and of course the amazing view from the ridge where we stopped for a break. Thanks again Wild Summits, I will be back again soon.

      Great Guides and Easy Transport!
This was our second tour with Wild Summits. We were lucky enough to have both Mark and Dave on the tour. They are great guides and have a fantastic knowledge of the area. The bus pickup was only 15 minutes on the luas from Heuston station which helped avoid the Dublin traffic getting out .

What an amazing and beautiful area it was and to do it in the dusk light was sensational. The expert guide, Declan Faulkner was informative, knowledgeable and friendly I enjoyed the narration and expertise, that he gave to my experience. I would recommend him as a guide to complete anyone’s hiking experience.

I went on the Glendalough night tour during the middle of the Summer. Watching the sunset over the lake was truly beautiful, I learned a lot about the history of the area, and one of the tour guides was an expert in ecology, so we learned about the animals of plants in the area. It was a feast of knowledge and beauty. Turning on the head torch as night descended is an interesting experience too. I'd definitely recommend this tour.

Really enjoyed the night hike in Glendalough with Wild Summits.
I'd never hiked before so I didn't know what to expect, our group was a mix of experienced hikers and all age ranges. Some people joined in groups and some came alone (good way to meet people). The rain was so heavy when we arrived that we thought we might have to cancel the whole thing at one point but our guide Simon was able to rearrange the route to ensure we had more tree cover and give us route options as we hiked so we could choose what to see and how much exposed to the elements. Our guide Simon was really knowledgeable, he knew the history of the place inside out, he also had alot to tell us about the local wildlife and what was growing there and edible. Simon gave us lots of good tips about equipment. As a novice I felt very safe with Simon guiding us. The atmosphere was good in the group too, everyone was there for a good time. It was a great experience, I will definitely do the night hike again.

Absolutely magical hike. It's a stunning location but having the opportunity to experience it well into the evening is absolutely unique and unforgettable. The animals become more active and relax as the evening sets and you really feel one with nature. Mark & Reece were brilliant with their commentary, support and encouragement throughout the hike. I went home with such a happy feeling, I would do this again in a heartbeat.

I would be a fan of hiking around Glendalough so when I saw an ad for the night hike, I decided to give it a try. This was a brilliant experience and I am so glad I did it. You learn a lot about the history and habitat of the valley. Once the sun went down and the head torches came out, it was a very peaceful and atmospheric vibe. Would highly recommend it! Many thanks to our guides Mark & Dave who were excellent.

What an incredible hike. It was EXTREMELY difficult. I would consider it more than moderate level. BUT it was an awesome hike and I pushed my self harder than I ever have. Be sure to dress appropriately. I wore lined pants because I thought it would cool off after it rained and I was drenched in sweat.

The guides were knowledge and very helpful. Great hike!!

The idea of the night hike and the route chosen was really good. The historical and environmental information given by one of the leaders was interesting. However, the information about the challenge of the walk was not sufficient. It was 14k and 400metre elevation and we were only told this when we arrived. One if our group did not have enough experience and especially at night to manage this and became unwell. As there was only two leaders for a large group, there was insufficient contingency. When our friend had to leave the walk ,one of the leaders would have allowed her to return alone. I went back with her and the rest of our group continued. In fairness they thoroughly enjoyed the walk. However if the leaders had good mountain leader training they would have done more to ensure that people coming on the walk had the capacity for the challenge and there would have been a better contingency plan.
I would not recommend the company unless they put more emphasis is safety in the mountains.

Absolutely brilliant way to spend an evening. We did the History Tour and Night Hike last week, and our guide Simon was great craic. The tour is really informative, well organised, and the walk is done at a pace that suits everyone. We were lucky enough to see lots of deer and bats when the sun went down. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to do something a little bit different for a night out.

Really enjoyed our night hike around beautiful Glendalough. The weather was nippy, but we got great information about being well wrapped up in advance. I have done this walk before in daylight but the information shared by our guides made the hike so much more enjoyable. Our guides were brilliant, really friendly and knowledgeable. It was great to see deer scampering around in the dusk and hiking down in the dark was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend this tour
