Combine cool city sights from the water with a boatload of historical facts during this Charleston history cruise—a great way for first-time visitors to orient themselves. An easy-to-find meeting place takes the stress out of navigating a new area, leaving you to sit back and enjoy your guided tour on the Charleston Harbor.
What to Expect
Meet for your Charleston Harbor cruise at Charleston Maritime Center on Wharfside Street in the city. Turn in your voucher at check-in, and board your sightseeing boat.

When you board, find a spot you’d like best for this guided tour. If you’d like you can purchase drinks on board the boat (own expense) to sip on while you sail.

Your guide starts right away telling you the history of the city as you pass by antebellum houses and pass under bridges. Follow the Cooper River all the way to the Fort Sumter National Monument.

Your guide tells you stories about the Civil War and WWII, and you might even catch sight of wildlife as you cruise, including dolphins and pelicans. See Fort Moultrie and Fort Johnson, along with St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.

Your Charleston tour ends back at the place where it began on Wharfside Street.

Very Enjoyable

We enjoyed the history and humor of Capt. Tripp. Would definitely recommend. Even with the warning, the horn scared me to death. The echo effect was really cool.

Capt. Andy gave an engaging yet concise history of Charleston from the water perspective while adroitly navigating the harbor to avoid big boats and small. Well done!

Thanksgiving Trip 2018

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Very entertaining and knowledgable. All of the crew did a great job. Would definitely do it again. Captain Erin knew her stuff and had us laughing.

We started at the back near the kite type roof, but moved to the front as it was a very very hot day and the breeze at the front provided relief. We saw more dolphins following at the back, though.

Our tour was 90 min. But has refreshments and restrooms on the boat.
