The highlight of Tour Charleston's Ghosts of Charleston Tour is entering the lush, spellbinding Unitarian Church Graveyard built in 1772. Real time hauntings occur only a handful of times a year. However, since 1996, when we started what is now Charleston's oldest ghost tour, spirits in the Unitarian Church Graveyard have reached out to many people on our tour in visual, tactile and auditory ways.

Highlights
  • Get special after-hours access to the haunted Unitarian Church Graveyard
  • Hear supernatural tales of Charleston you wouldn’t hear anywhere else
  • Your guide knows their way around the city—even in the dark
  • Choose a nighttime departure time that best fits your schedule
What to Expect
Your Charleston ghost tour meets near the city center. Set out with your guide as you stroll, and bring a small flashlight for ease of navigation. Try your best not to get scared as you listen to stories about ghosts, and the city’s eerie past. Go by buildings, squares, and landmarks where former city residents used to hang out, and if you’re careful, you might notice that they’re still there—in spirit. The main highlight of your tour is a trip to the Unitarian Church Graveyard, which is known by locals to be haunted by people who have been buried there in tombs or graves. This graveyard isn't open at night, but your tour gives you special evening access to explore. Your tour ends at the departure point. Make sure to check in with your guide before you part ways if you aren’t familiar with the area.

Greg was our guide and was so informative with history and storytelling. We took the tour late in the evening so that made it more spooky. Would definitely recommend this activity while in Charleston. This was a trip with me (grandmother), daughter and teenage granddaughter.

We took the ghost tour night time walk and Simon was our guide. He was so good!! His knowledge and the overall way he told the stories was just mesmerizing. His British accent and calm voice just made the entire thing. Cannot recommend the tour with Simon enough!! Thank you!!
