Overview
Explore Old Charleston Jail, one of the city’s paranormal hot spots, during this guided night tour that takes you back through its history from 1802 to 1939. Hear tales from your guide about the ghosts that allegedly haunt its halls. Prebooking means you can visit on the day and time you’d like, and since this tour is less than an hour long, it’s easy to fit into your busy schedule.
What to Expect
Meet for this guided tour at the Old Charleston City Jail, and get ready to explore its haunted jail cells. Since it will be nighttime, prepare to get even more spooked.

As you walk the hallways, your guide will tell you all about the city’s most famous criminals who lived and died there. You’ll enter the actual cells that held notorious prisoners, such as Lavinia and John Fisher. See if you can catch sight of Lavinia’s ghost, who has been said to still haunt the halls. Some tourgoers have claimed they’ve seen objects move on their own.

Your tour ends back at the entrance of the prison with plenty of time to go out afterward to recover from your eerie adventure.

Scary.

This was a wonderful and scary experience. The jail walk through was barely lit and I definitely don't recommend it for those who easily frighten.

Worth it

This was a good tour, I would recommend taking it. Didn’t see any ghosts lol, but we did see a lot of bats outside before the tour started. I would recommend going at dusk to see the bats. We felt it was worth the cost.
