Pack in 300-plus years of pivotal American history on this walking and mini-coach tour of charming Charleston. You’ll take advantage of a panoramic overview, seeing more than 100 historical points of interest, while experiencing other sites up-close, with photo opportunities and historical lessons. While saving time by letting a guide take you on an educational itinerary, stop for scenic views of Charleston Harbor and Fort Sumter. After exploring Charleston’s Historic District, you can include a visit to Joseph Manigault House with an upgrade.
What to Expect
Head to the Charleston Visitors Center, where the tour begins. From there, you’ll make your first stop at Charleston’s former city walls and Battery. As you walk around Charleston’s historic district, take photos of the harbor and Fort Sumter to the southeast.

Afterwards, see some of Charleston’s most important historical sites while a guide helps you learn about their role in American history. You’ll pass Rainbow Row, the longest cluster of Georgian row houses in the United States, and move to highlights like the Old Exchange Building, one of South Carolina's most historic buildings.

You’ll also see the Historic City Market, a 200-year-old market four blocks long. By tour’s end you’ll have seen more than 100 historic points of interest.

Your tour ends at the starting point, though you can easily upgrade to include a short visit to the Joseph Manigault House, an antebellum house

Second time touring, better than the first (which was great too)

We have been to Charleston twice, and both times taken Gray line tours. The first year we did a city tour and a harbor tour. This time around the harbor tour wasn’t running (January Weather) so we did the city tour and Joseph Manigault house....More

Difficult to see things from the bus

The view from the bus is really bad. I was able to see a few things, but my husband who was seated on an aisle seat saw very little. It was a terrible waste of money. Next time we will do a carriage tour so...More
