Sunny day in Stonehenge
Apr 2020
It's a sunny day in April, I was exploring the ruins Stonehenge with my brother and his girlfriend, including my other brother and younger sister. We were at Stonehenge to try out a skydiving session. Me and my brothers, we all did skydiving of the plane. I was cool but at the same time, I was shook!!

Beautifully preserved extraordinary monument
Jan 2020
After hearing and reading about Stonehenge for so many years, the reality of the visit was even more amazing than we had anticipated! We were lucky to see it on a rare sunny day (along with several thousand of our closest friends), and we were really thrilled with what we saw and experienced. It has obviously been lovingly cared for and preserved to make it as close to the way it was as possible, and it's challenges your mind to see how it was created and used thousands of years ago. I'm sorry that visitors are not allowed to go up to the rocks directly as they were for many years, but maybe it's better that you can see them standing alone without people infecting the landscape. We really enjoyed and appreciated the videos and explanations in the visitor center, and the gift shop had some nice books and souvenirs (in addition to an opportunity to taste some nice wines and meads.) We also enjoyed some delicious soup and pie in the cafe. Our experience there made us want to join the English Heritage group and see a lot more of their great sites.

Stonehenge - so worth it!
Nov 2019
We were lucky enough to have passes but would have been happy to pay the entrance fees. Quite busy considering it was late November so can imagine in Summer it is super crowded. We went mid morning, beautiful setting as the sun was sitting just above the stones. Be patient waiting to get a good photo with noone in the way. And be prepared to not be as close to the stones as you think, the pathway is a good few metres away but great to ensure this landmark is preserved. The museum was very well laid and out and informative. Staff helpful.

Thanks so much for your review - we're really glad you had such a memorable time at Stonehenge. In terms of getting close to the stones, you were as close as 5m from them when you were on the visitor path!

Great Tourist place. Pre Historic
Stonehenge is about 2 hours drive from London Victoria. A prehistoric monument which has large stone
slabs laid in a pattern of concentric ring.It is presumed that the Stonehenge was the work of Celtic priests.

Visit number 6 and counting
Aug 2019 • Couples
I can’t seem to visit this site enough. I visit Stonehenge using the after hours tour, smaller group and a chance to get photos without anyone in them. I am not a huge fan of what’s been done to the area or what is planned but I still visit and enjoy the site. We always have a rental car so we drive all the surrounding countryside to see as much of the site as possible. I love talking to the guards, yes there are guards on site, because they can give you insight and point out marks on the stones. Really Christopher Wrenn! Do you see the face? Yes I did sunrise. No wonder some think it’s a ritual setting. Shout out to Time Team.

Stonehenge, 'tis a magic place
Jul 2019
I traveled to Stonehenge with my wife and two children (14 &10 year old's). I purchased our tickets months in advance from the English Heritage Website. The tickets are sold by date and time of entry. We purchased a later entry 3:00 PM. We did not buy the bus tour. I did not think it was worth the money or the time (I hate schedules) . I rented a car from Enterprise Brentford and drove about an 1hr 1/2 to Stonehenge. As you enter Salisbury the traffic becomes very heavy and you realize the traffic is because people are slowing down as they pass Stonehenge (Easily Visible from the Road). The visitors parking is very big and there was plenty of parking. From there its a short walk to the visitor center. It was very easy to get your ticket to board the bus to the site (you can also walk (20 min). The shuttle takes about five minutes. I would recommend using the restrooms before you take the shuttle (no restrooms that I saw at site). I also suggest visiting the Museum before going to the site to get a better understanding of Stonehenge and the area. After the shuttle drops you off you walk about five minutes to get to the outta circle of Stonehenge. There was plenty of room to take photos ,but once around is all you need.
I recommend checking out the café (yummy scones and soup). We were there in July but felt like March. I recommend bringing a light jacket and an Umbrella.

Unbelievable
What an amazing feat of engineering. I wasn’t that excited about going but once you see it I soon changed my mind. It’s a pity you can’t get a little closer.

Must see!!!
Aug 2019
Great to see, you can walk around the site (but cannot get close enough to touch), also the barrows nearby are interesting.

BOOK THE TICKETS IN ADVANCE ON LINE!!! - we had the Heritage overseas family pass and used this to book the stone hedge visit

If visiting from abroad get the English heritage and National trust tour tickets - will save you a mint as its free to get in to all these sites
