Our guide, Nicola (sp?) is one of the most personable and knowledgeable educators on the importance of wolves in our ecosystem. I sometimes find my mind wandering during lectures but she kept me engaged the entire time. Afterwards, we toured the sanctuary and were able to see all 6 of the majestic wolves in their habitat. She has spent a lot of time with the wolves and was able to relate cute anecdotes on each and every one. Needless to say, I am now a supporter of wolves and will highly recommend this place to everyone I know. There isn’t much advertisement so I hope these wonderful reviews of the White Wolf Sanctuary will help raise support and love for the Wolves.

The educational talk is under cover, so for at least that part you won't have to worry about rain. The walking portion of the tour going by the enclosures could be a little damp and chilly so bundle up as you are on a mountain. The drive up is through a locked gate that your guide will let you through and the road isn't paved so you may have some potholes and slippery bits to contend with depending on the time of year you visit. It was pouring rain when we were making the climb, but our mini van made it fine. The talk was great and very educational. I have visited several sanctuaries and I still learned a few things I didn't know. It is clear this little out of the way sanctuary is a labor of love and seems to be a bit of an overflow place for older non breeding wolves or rescues who were never part of the wild populace. It is nice there are places that will allow them to live out their lives in relative comfort. It is great to see each of their unique personalities and if their enormous feet and golden eyes aren't enough to enchant you their song will do the trick. We had a chorus going on at several different junctures and that is such an amazing experience. It is a call that hits you in the soul.

This was an awesome experience! We were staying in Eugene and made the 2-hour trip in the rain to get there and it was so worth it. I learned so much being there and getting educated on the history, migration, mating, ecosystem and lives of wolves—I am forever grateful for the time they took with us. We were able to hear all 7 wolves howl together and it was incredible to get to be there for that. Howling is guaranteed, but we got lucky! I fell in love with these sweet creatures and they have a permanent place in my heart now. We couldn’t touch them, but they were close through the chain link fence so it was up close and personal. My reluctant (to learn anything new) teen even loved it. Im so glad I dragged her there because she got to experience something she’ll never experience in her like again. Im so happy we did this tour and recommend 5+++ stars anyone who can do this tour to do it. It’s been a major highlight of our Oregon trip, and honestly a highlight of my life. Thank you all for your dedication to these beautiful, misunderstood, majestic animals. ♥️

This was an absolutely enchanting and highly educational adventure that a friend booked. Every moment, from the Jurassic Park vibes of the drive in, to glimpsing the wolves from the gravel road, to learning (to my shock and pleasure) that we are approaching 200+ wild wolves in oregon and learning all about their history, seeing the size of their feet, and finally walking around to meet each wolf, learn their story, and (lucky us) hear them howl—wow. I heartily recommend booking this adventure to everyone and have been telling my friends and family who love the oregon coast that this is a must-book private tour. I wear my wolf shirt all the time now, too. Thank you so much to the wonderful volunteers and conservationists whose work and care made this experience possible.

This was a fantastic experience. Very educational--I even learned (or perhaps, relearned) a few things. There was such a wide age range of participants as well, from seven years old to well over seventy.

My daughter wanted to have a real-life wolf visit for her birthday and this was a great option. We turned the whole thing into a day trip to the Oregon Coast, in early September when the weather is still nice.

Nicola was a great guide, and she even drove us in her vehicle because ours would not make it up the road. She was pleasant and personable and even gave us a restaurant recommendation that we later dined at and loved.

Our daughter wants to return soon! Not surprising that some of the others on the tour were on a second visit as well.

My family and I recently did the wolf experience, and had a fantastic time. Our guide, Nicole, was wonderful and very passionate about the wolves. She shared so much information about the wolves and their current state in America, and my family learned a lot from her. She made sure to answer any questions we had completely, and made the experience exceptional. She was also accommodating with my daughter who is disabled, and made sure she had a great time as well. The wolves at the sanctuary look very healthy, and it seems that the sanctuary cares about them a lot. We plan to come back in the future, and definitely recommend experiencing the wolves as well!

The tour started with a presentation brimming with valuable information before the walk-about happened. They did an excellent job of explaining the way their enclosures worked and demonstrated their humane treatment of these beautiful animals. To get to see something so rare up close was thrilling. Definitely worth checking out if you love visiting rare species!

Highly educational and enjoyable afternoon. We were met at a parking area by an abandoned gas station by our guide who put us in her vehicle to take us to the unmarked (due to security concerns) sanctuary. We had a thorough orientation to the extensive facility, wolves in general, their wolves in particular, the issues with wolves (protection) in various states, etc. There were helpful learning aides (a clump of wolf fur, imprints of tracks, etc.). Well presented with lots of opportunity for questions. We then took a tour of the outdoor facility and met the wolves, each of whom had a very distinct personality. It was a memorable opportunity to be so close to wolves and learn of the good work this group is doing. I highly recommend a visit.

Important notes: You MUST make reservations ahead of time. There is no chance to ‘drop in’ and check it out. Time is outdoors (the talk was while we were seated, and they had blankets for us) and uneven and sometimes steep grade (although we had one person on the tour in a wheelchair who was able to complete the tour with help from her family).

Our visit to White Wolf Sanctuary was a truly amazing experience. We learned so much and we were able to see 5 out of the 7 wolves that currently live at WWS. Our host Nicola was so welcoming and knowledgeable. In seeing how the wolves interact with her, it is obvious how well she treats them and how fond they are of her.

My family of 4 (husband, 19 year old son, 19 year old stepson and myself) all agree that this was BY FAR the highlight of our Oregon Coast vacation, and well worth the cost.
