Dustin was a young and enthusiastic guide. He took myself and son around some of the more interesting sights of Portland and some great donut/coffee spots off the tourist path

We had an amazing time! We were afraid about how rusty we were as we hadn't ridden bikes in ages and my kids weren't super experienced bike riders either but we got the hang of it fast and our tour guide was so patient and helpful. This tour is a must do if you want to see Portland like a local and get a great overview of the city on your first day in town so you know where you want to go back to later in your trip!

I was doing a tour of the Pacific Northwest and had just completed a bike tour of Seattle before making my way down to Portland. Bike Around Portland did not disappoint. After visiting the Portland Aerial Tram I took the streetcar over to the east side of the river where Michael met me along with one other participant. Michael quickly got me sized for a bike and we were on our way.

We first checked out a planned neighborhood directly east of the starting point. There were a ton of roses and Michael provided a great history of how this neighborhood was planned. We then stopped by a great ice cream shop.

We saw some great murals on the way to our first bridge, a new transit-only one, which we crossed. Michael stopped us at the viewing platform and gave a great history lesson on how Portland became a city of bridges.

We then made our way to the poetry beach which was very interesting.

Sadly there’s a terrible chapter in this country’s history when it comes to Japanese internment during World War Two, focused on the west coast. Michael took us through the memorial for this with incredible knowledge of the history. We took some time to walk this incredible monument.

We crossed the Steel Bridge and made our way back to the starting point. Michael showed us a great flea market which only takes place on Fridays along the way.

I highly recommend this tour. Stop and (see) the roses!

Great way to see the city - Brian was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. All very relaxed and time to take in many sights. Sociable too, especially if you're a solo traveller, as I was, and want to share the experience with others. Highly recommend.

It was a great tour.

Sarah the guide knows Portland inside out. We visited a lot of places, the Saturday market, voodoo donuts, Portland State University, Powell’s bookstore, the Providence Stadium, rose garden, etc.

I know a lot better about the culture, history, fashion, and the pulse of Portland through Sarah’s introduction. It felt more personal and intimate witnessing her interaction with acquaintances we met in the markets.

Highly recommend the tour.

I had a friend visiting from out of state and wanted to do something outdoors, fun and unique. The Bike Around Portland tour was exactly what I had in mind, so glad I chose it! I was impressed with every part of the tour. The pacing was fantastic and enjoyable, the route felt safe yet exciting. Our tour guide Vincent was wonderful. He knew so much about the city that even I, a resident, didn't know! Vincent offered food and sights suggestions and recommendations throughout the tour, he was helpful and communicative at all times, and he made sure we felt safe and secure on our rides. I will definitely be taking friends and family on tours with Around Portland again!
