Summary: This is a great scenic and informative tour if you don't have a lot of time (or your own car) and want to experience some of the beauty of Oregon not far away from the city! Worth the price for sure!

I didn't have my own car while visiting Portland, but I still wanted to see some of the beautiful outdoors not far off. After researching my options, though I don't often do tours, I signed up for the Gray Line half-day tour of the Falls and Gorge. It helped that one of the pickup points was very convenient to me, since 8:30 is painfully early when I'm on vacation.

The bus was clean, comfortable, and perfectly air conditioned for the summer weather. Our tour guide Brian shared great history and also took great pics!

I would have loved to have more time to do a longer hike, but this tour was a useful introduction so I know what's worth coming back to!

We were vacationing in Portland and took a popular Gray Line half-day tour through the Columbia River Gorge. Picked up at Pioneer Square at 8;15am, Tour driver/guide Brian was very entertaining and knowledgable. Tour finished at 1:15pm, giving us the rest of the afternoon for more leisure activities.
Highlight was the magnificent & majestic Multnomah Falls. Awesome!!
Only downside to this tour is that it is on a tight schedule and time is limited at each scenic stop.

Going out to the gorge & multnomah falls is a must if you are in Portland, it really shows off a beautiful part of the area. There are obviously lots of tours that go out there and I’m sure most do the same route. I think what sets any apart will be the driver/tour guide & ours was superb. Brian was a wealth of information & provided some really interesting facts about the area. All in all a great half day tour which I’d definitely recommend. Note it is a bus not a small tour van but we were lucky enough to only have 8 on the bus the day we did it which was great. Brian was also an excellent driver & even though I don’t usually like bus trips I felt safe and at ease. They also offer a phone charger which is an added bonus.

Our Greyline bus #41 audio system was not working properly. The tour guide was very kind and knowledgeable but we could not hear a word he was saying from the very beginning of the tour. We told him know the audio was extremely muffled however he was unable to fix it as he was driving. At our first stop he made some adjustments but the system still was not projecting his voice. It was very frustrating as we all we’re looking forward to learning about the history of the area. We gave up complaining because was not his fault, the system was broken.

The PA system was operating correctly, the driver forgot to pickup the correct microphone so made do with an incorrect one. Additionally he choose to mask up that day due to developing a cold. We have refunded a portion of your tour fare.

This is the way to go if you have 5 hours. You see some beautiful scenic country side. Mae was our tour guide and she was fabulous. She had info about everything you can think of. It was such fun and didn't want the day together to end. This is worth the money. Love it

Great tour at a great price! Brian was our driver and guide. He was informative and helpful. He even offered to help take pictures. The bus has a small charging station for a few phones. Comfortable seating. Windows could be cleaner (water stains on glass). Overall, worth the time and cost. Would recommend.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Portland! Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went out of his way to make the trip enjoyable. The falls we visited were beautiful and the other sights were great as well. The motor coach we traveled in was very nice and extremely comfortable! Would definitely do this tour again!

Brian Sweeney was very courteous, helpful and friendly. The tour bus was clean and the seating comfortable. Most of all, however, was the knowledge base of Brian. He knew every little detail about “everything” - the city, weather, demographics and every important detail about the tour. Where to stand for the best view and what to look for at each site. Amazing! You want be disappointed. If you have the opportunity to ride his bus, don’t hesitate. Be sure to leave a generous tip, it was worth it.
