Lovely time whale watching
Jun 2021
I have done several whale watching cruises overseas but this was our first trip in Australia and it was equal if not better than the overseas ones. We where fortunate to see a whale as it’s a bit hit and miss if the whales are sighted. Not only did we see a humpback whale but also saw pods of juvenile seals and common dolphins. The staff on the boat where very helpful with information about the area and the wildlife we saw. It was cold but you could stay inside until the wildlife was sighted. Morning tea and a light lunch plus tea and coffee was included in the ticket. If you have any dietary requirements if you advised these when booking they where catered for. I had a lovely time and would highly recommend this cruise.

Should have cancelled
Aug 2019 • Couples
It's more my fault for not cancelling as I had been watching the average weather forecast for days in advance. I have no issues with the company or the cruises and have been on two other seal cruises in the past (even one that was extended an extra hour due to bad weather and having to leave from San Remo instead of Cowes). My partner & I had such wonderful times on both seal cruises that we decided to go on the Whale cruise but could only advance book at the end of the season which was sad. I wish I could say that I had a great time on the Whale cruise but it was so rough that I missed an hour & a half wishing I was at home instead of feeling horrendously sea sick & freezing wet/cold. I know it was the end of the season and whales were scarce at this time (in a way it was good we didn't see one as I was unable to look up or move around so it would have been even more disappointing not to see it), however, my recommendation for next year's season to the crew to perhaps once there are more than 10 people suffering motion sickness, that the captain could be informed of increasing numbers and the boat should be directed back towards the more sheltered coast instead of further out into Bass Strait where the swells increased. It won't put me off going on another cruise (well, not another whale cruise) but I won't be booking in advance again.

Hi Frankincense, Thank you for taking the time to send in your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your cruise. We always try to advise passengers ahead of time so they are prepared. Unfortunately some times the sea conditions are worse than forecast. It is often a catch 22 booking early to avoid sold missing out or booking late to avoid the bad weather. We will take your feedback on board and we do hope to see you on board again with us on a much nicer day. Kind Regards,

Humbled, energised and honoured for the experience.
Jul 2019 • Solo
We saw one whale towards the end of the trip. It was a magnificently humbling moment. It didn’t bother me if we never saw a whale I was just glad to have the day off work. The Captain and crew were fantastic professionals, accomodating even waiting an extra 10 mins for guests who didnt turn up, I wouldn’t have waited. The boat is comfortable and clean, warm inside or fresh and invigorating outside while listening to the engine humming away. A nice hot cup of soup, bun with real butter and savoury muffin served while you are relaxing enjoying the views. Help yourself to tea and coffee. Throw a cool Antarctic blast in now and then and it was the most awesome relaxing day I’ve had in a long time. I’ll be doing this cruise again next year with all my family. Thank you Captain and Crew, thank you Miss Whale and thank you playful Seals. Highly recommend.

Whale of a birthday
Jul 2019 • Couples
A fabulous experience on a lovely boat crewed by real professional whale enthusiasts. We saw Fur Seals, and two amazing Albatross at very close quarter but the highlight of the 4 hour trip was when our magnificent sea host, a young whale appeared very close to the boat, close enough to see its eye, and gave us a show of blowing, breaching and a couple of tail slaps. What a birthday present from mother nature, a birthday I will never forget.

No whales 🐳 still had a great time
Jul 2019 • Solo
After the weather having my tour postponed the past 2weeks the season is finished at the end of the week, but the tours the past few days still saw whales, unfortunately we did not, however I had a wonderful day, saw heaps of seals, the commentary was amazing and informative. Staff were just a delight Mel is so friendly and approachable. Lunch was lovely nice and warm after the fresh ocean breeze. I look forward to doing another tour and hopefully spotting the whales next time.

Amazing wildlife, great crew, comfortable boat
Jul 2019 • Family
Fantastic cruise - we saw our first two humpback whales within 15 minutes of the boat leaving the dock, and another two later on. We were also taken to visit a seal colony, and some of the seals hopped in the water to get a look at us. The encounters with wildlife were amazing, and I really appreciate the fact that this operation doesn't 'chase' the whales once they're spotted, but leaves the level of interaction up to the animals. The captain's commentary throughout was very knowledgeable and informative, and the crew were fantastic. The boat had comfortable indoor seating and plenty of outdoor viewing so you can warm up inside between sightings without having to worry about not being able to see. Morning tea and lunch is included. A great trip!

The seals are so cute and playful and it's great to see them in their natural habitat, it's a different perspective seeing the island from the sea, isn't it? Our Captain and crew do love to share their knowledge of the wildlife and the area and take alot of pride in respecting the wildlife, we're glad that you enjoyed it. We hope to see you on board again, Kind regards, Briony
