Thank you kindly for this positive review from your recent River and Rainforest journey on board, we are really pleased that you enjoyed the experience and grateful for the feedback given here. Our Raft and Steam journey is a popular one combining the two experiences into one and we hope that you may be able to return one day to experience this one also :) Thank you again for your suggestions and for joining us on board, it was a pleasure.

I wish to acknowledge your review and also appreciate you taking the time to contact us via email. We appreciate you acknowledging the friendly staff that we have, although disappointed you rated the experience "1" based on presumptions of what the tour included and where it went rather than contacting us to confirm if there was uncertainty. This is the first complaint of its kind we have received, however acknowledge your comments and we will update the website to be even more specific on our experiences to ensure there is no confusion in the future. We apologise if you did not see the inclusions on the tours that were offered nor the map that indicate that the River & Rainforest travels along the King River through the Rainforest to Dubbil Barril where it is turned (nowhere mentioning it travels over the rack) and that the Rack and Gorge travels over the Rack and through the gorge as the name suggests. This is also shown on the map. When we advertise our tours we don’t advertise what we don’t do, we promote what we do include. We have 3 tours the full day Queenstown Explorer that covers the entire line, the ½ day River & Rainforest out of Strahan to Dubbil Barril return and the ½ day Rack & Gorge out of Queenstown to Dubbil Barril return, each with their own great experiences. We are truly sorry we did not meet your expectation of something we don’t offer nor promote on this experience, we are sorry you did not enjoy the tour for what it is as our other guests do, but pleased that you believe our staff are friendly, we trust you may return and have our friendly staff take you on the Rack and Gorge experience. We trust you enjoy the rest of your travel around Tasmania and thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Hi Jason, Appreciate your review and pleased that you enjoyed the experience. We like to think of it as an experience rather than a train ride. What makes the expereince unique is that you are travelling on the only railway of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, travelling into area unaccessable, through terraine that is inhospitable and that railways just don't travel through, this brings the challenge that the train just can't turn around anywhere and it takes time to get to the gorge then on to Dubbil Barril where the train can be turned. Unfortunately the only way into Dubbil Barril is via train, raft or helicopter, making it unique. We are working on onboard entertainment to help those who are unable to last the 4 hours and hope to have this completed this year along with the continued enhancements of the remote stations and the experience.
