About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 499lianap0 contributionsFalse Advertising - don't believe the listed priceI reached out to SAHARANSKY to ask a few questions about the experience. When I did the price was listed as $699 per person. After taking a few days to answer my questions and confirming availability SAHARANSKY then quoted me $1,395 per person - $600 more than what it had been originally advertised for. I tried booking on TripAdvisor where the price was $799 but they promptly cancelled my reservation. I called them on the price discrepancy and their response was that there was "an issue with the pricing engine" and they then offered me a price of $825 per person but with a shared buggy instead of one each. I am super disappointed with the bait and switch. If they'll try to gouge you on price are these really the people you want to trust for a two-day Saharan adventure? My answer to that question was a resounding no. Consider yourself warned.Written 8 November 2024

The camel ride was an incredible way to connect with the desert’s peacefulness, and the camp was a delightful mix of traditional charm and comfort. Quads are really new and the experience of driving over the dunes is top. Camel tour for seeing the sunset is amazing. Probably one of the best I've seen in my life. Way way way over priced big rip off 240 US for what a 2 hour ride on a Camel guided by a nice kid but only speaks Arabic. Meals consisted of lunch an omelette chicken leg potato’s and salad . Dinner 4 chicken wings a salad bread and fruit. breakfast a hard boiled egg bread and cheese. The shower had only drops of water coming out . After the camel ride sat in a tent all day fighting off flys nothing to do no activities just laid down on a hard table with a carpet over it . The staff was very nice but still all in all a big big rip off for the price they charged

Seriously, book now! My son (19) and I have just finished our tour this morning and we've talked about it non stop. It's the exact experience we wanted, and they've got everything you might be looking for. Organizers and guides a really great and can't do enough for you but crucially you are also left to enjoy the peace of the Sahara. Such a wonderful experience, I would recommend it to anyone.

Great experience must do. The trip had so much content. Seeing the Sahara and salt flats was amazing. Even though I am not a Star Wars fan it was interesting to see the film location via jeep safari. The colosseum at El Gem is a must see. The guide Mo and driver Bashir were fantastic.

From the beginning to the end we loved every moment. The help Sarah gave us on the phone to find our driver in the busy square was really appreciated, making sure we got into the right car.
Atef, the driver, was great and told us some really interesting facts about Douz on the 30 minute journey, he gave advice on several restaurants and even dropped us to one on our way back after the tour.
Once we arrived at the camels, we did not stop laughing until we got off. Our guide, Sofien was absolutely brilliant, he made it so much fun!
I would definitely recommend this company, they were very professional and the camels appeared to be well looked after and in good condition.

Riding out into the desert on a camel sounded a bit intimidating. We were worried about the cold and potential for rough comforts.
Turns out all of our fears were unnecessary. The ride out was exciting, the facilities were fantastic. Beds on frames in tents with 4 or 5 blankets for each bed to help with the chill at night, running water for showers and such, a cozy firepit area for night time songs and day time chilling, comfortable building to keep you out of the wind at mealtime, and even solar powered charging for your phone/camera/etc.
The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.
I highly recommend this little adventure as a great way to taste the experience of the desert without having to rough it.
