Highlights
  • Learn about the city's culinary history through commentary
  • Visit neighborhoods that many city visitors don't get to
  • Enjoy the authentic dishes Chicago made famous
What to expect
Meet at the tour’s bike-shop departure location along Lake Shore Drive, where you’ll listen to a safety briefing and get set up with a properly sized bike and helmet. Pedal through local neighborhoods, leaving the navigation and planning to your guide. Just follow along for the roughly 13-mile (21-kilometer) ride. On the day tour, ride through Wrigleyville, Old Town, Lincoln Park, and Gold Coast. On the night tour, visit Gold Coast, Chicago’s Riverwalk, Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain and Chicago’s Lakefront Trail. Learn what makes Chicago deep-dish pizza special, why you’ll get dirty looks if you ask for ketchup with your hot dog, and where to find the best local craft brews. Learn about the history of each neighborhood, and finish with a cupcake at one of the city’s best bakeries. Your guide will be happy to provide you with more suggestions on where to eat and drink in Chicago during the remainder of your stay. Both the 11:30 am and 5:30 pm tours include healthy portions of Deep Dish pizza, Chicago hot dogs, locally crafted beers, and dessert to top things off.

First off, Bobby’s was kind enough to allow us to move our reservation back nearly 3 months from July to October when our flight was unexpectedly canceled last minute over the summer. Amazing customer service!

Secondly, the TOUR WAS TOP NOTCH! The weather was windy, cold and rainy and that made the tour more unique and special! We rode on wonderful bikes for 14 miles through the streets of downtown Chicago and finished with 45 minutes along Lake Michigan while the water was crashing into the bank like crazy… made for amazing views!

Well-organized and safe, we had a slice of Chicago deep dish pizza and then a local beer, award-winning cupcake and a Chicago-style hotdog and finally a few local beers.

4 hours of memories, well worth the cost for the experience! Julia was a terrific guide!!

This is a must do while visiting in downtown Chicago. We were able to see parts of Chicago neighbor hoods and ride along the waterfront of Lake Michigan . If you don’t want to drive around or take cab services all the time, this is the way to see some of Chicago , and next day you can rent one of their bikes at a very discounted rate if you have taken the tour, then ride all day yourselves!

I had a wonderful time. All my worries about riding in traffic on city streets came to nothing. Our guide, Thomas, kept us in a pack, safely navigating the route through all kinds of residential, downtown, and bike trail traffic. I felt really good the whole way!

We are 4 friends that booked this tour to see Chicago from a different perspective than walking or a bus. We did not go on this tour expecting anything special but it turned out to be insanely fun, both due to Chicago being a fun city to visit but not least because of our tour guides, Julia and Josie, they are a bundle of fun and made us all really enjoy the 4 plus hours the tour takes. Insidentaly they are both aspiring actors/singers and very talented so you just might be taking a tour with future stars.
If you take this tour ask for them to guide you :)

What a great way to experience Chicago and all it has to offer !!! We loved biking around the city, visiting the local eateries and learning a bit of history. Pizza, cupcakes, hot dogs and beer, oh my !!! My only critique would be to make it four stops rather than five. We felt a bit rushed at the last bar. The other four places we stopped, we had a chance to sit and talk with our guide, Nate, and to others on the tour. But with the last bar stop, we were crowded into a small dark bar and did not have enough time to really enjoy our beverages. I would still highly recommend this tour. It was one of my favorites from our week long adventure in Chicago.

This was an absolutely fantastic tour! We went on a 13 mile bike ride around Chicago and stopped at 4 different establishments plus a few unique places. We also rode through many different neighborhoods, so we were able to get a good feel of what Chicago is like. Everything is included in the price, so you don't have to worry about paying for any of the food/drinks on the tour.

Julia (our guide) did a fantastic job going over easy-to-remember safety guidelines that helped us ride on the busy Chicago roads safely without being worried. She was extremely friendly and engaging to every single person on the tour, so we all felt like a real part of the tour. Even after herding us around for 13 miles and 4 hours, Julia still had endless energy at the end of the tour.

This was such a cool tour! Julia does a great job of being entertaining, informative yet also allowing us to take everything in. My favorite stops were Lu Malnati’s and Harry Carey’s bar on the pier. Julia even, somehow, convinced me to eat the Chicago dog without ketchup 😂… and it was good too! We also got great suggestions that we were able to use for the rest of our trip. 10/10 would recommend, and I will also do another one of their tours when I visit Chicago again.

My wife and I did this tour over July 4th weekend, and we really enjoyed it! It was a little intimidating at first to be on a bike out on the street with cars and all, but we didn't have any issues whatsoever, I think Chicago drivers (at least in the downtown area) are used to seeing cyclists and tourists on bikes. Our guide Kevin was great, he was super accommodating as well as knowledgeable about the city and the food, etc. He also did an excellent job getting us through traffic as a group, not an easy thing to do! The places we visited to eat were all delicious and the combo of eating and biking was just fine because we weren't eating a lot at each stop and the biking itself was not strenuous (Chicago is mercifully flat). It was really hot the day we did this (lower 90's) so we ended up good and sweaty by the time we finished, but from here we headed over for an architecture boat tour and it was not an issue!

We had an absolutely phenomenal time on our Bike, Bites, and Brews Tour with Bobby's Bike Hike! We know Covid times are weird, but this gave us an exceptional and unique way to see the city and try some delicious treats from some great local restaurants and hidden gems. We are so thankful to our tour guide, Gabe, for braving the frigid cold with us and teaching us so much! Gabe cannot get enough praise for his historical knowledge, fun spirit, amazing impressions, sense of the city, and aptitude to guest service. An incredible time all around and I cannot recommend booking a tour enough!!

I would highly recommend this to anyone. We done the Bikes Brews and Bikes night tour. We were a little worried about biking through the streets. But the organization of those leading the trip and the fact Chicago is so bike friendly settled that very quickly. The route we took was beautiful and the stops chosen were fantastic. It really is the best way to see the city. The guides were friendly and informative, they shared their personal experiences of the city as well as sharing historical facts. This has been my favorite thing we have done in Chicago and will definitely use them when we return in the future.
