A great way to get the “flavor” of Chicago!
This was a fantastic way to get the “flavor” of Chicago. Literally and figuratively! We are from Connecticut, and we travel a lot but had not made It to Chicago. This tour was a great into to Chicago: a little history, a little pop culture, architecture, and of course, local food! Jeff, our tour guide was like an old friend 5 minutes into meeting him. He was genuinely interested in everyone in our group. He went out of his way to find out about them, their reasons for visiting Chicago and he offered advice on how to best enjoy Chicago tailored to each. He went beyond the topics covered by this tour. He was such and amazing resource. We highly recommend this tour on your first day in Chicago if possible.

      Amazing experience
I loved this tour so much. I even went back to the restaurants that were given on the tour since they were so good. Our guide was amazing, explaining the city along with the culture and the food. Highly suggested.

Really fun way to explore Chicago!
Highly recommend if you wanna try a couple staples food dishes of Chicago and sight see the Windy City! Jeff was phenomenal, he provided lots of fun facts, was humorous and just overall a fun time to be with! We lucked out and it wasn’t too cold for our tour but be prepared to walk around the city. It’s the perfect amount of food to not feel overstuffed. There’s an alcohol upgrade option, we didn’t do it but also a nice option to have beer with the food items. Learned a lot of fun facts and was so happy we included this on our visit to Chicago!

      A great tour!
Lily was our tour guide, she was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time and learned a lot! I would not recommend the $20 add on for drinks, you only get a half a glass of wine, a half a beer and a bubble tea. Doesn’t seem worth the value to me, but we had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour!

Best way to spend a few hours in Chicago!
This was an amazing tour and a great way to spend time in Chicago! The food was incredible— pizza like I’ve never had before— and we also learned a lot about the city. Our tour guide (Greg) was fantastic— very knowledgeable, FUNNY!, and made everyone so comfortable. This was a Christmas gift from our son and my husband and I enjoyed it so much. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The walking wasn’t difficult, and we had plenty of stops along the way for picture taking and taking in the great city of Chicago!

Terrific tastes and tour of downtown Chicago!
Greg Scheem is a terrific knowledgeable and fun tour guide and as a bonus, a highly entertaining comedian. The food was delicious, the sights and architecture fantastic- overall a great introduction to Chicago! My 19 year old son and I are so glad we did this tour and had Greg as our tour guide. We are already recommending this to our friends.

Great guide, good food and a fun experience
Wonderful experience! Our guide, Greg, was personable, informative and fun. He took us to sample original, Chicago deep dish pizza. This was followed by eating a Chicago hot dog, Italian roast beef and delicious brownie. All the establishments we visited were very friendly. Combine all of this food samwiched between a very entertaining history of the areas we visited led to a wonderful experience. My favorite dish—the pizza. Greg, thanks for such a great tour. Highly recommended!

Educational, entertaining, and lots of walking, but really fun.
We learned so much about the rich history of Chicago, the people who started the restaurants, the history of Chicago’s iconic foods: pizza, hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, this fires that destroyed Chicago and how the Chicago people rebuilt it time and time again. If you like good food, entertaining/educational presentations, this is definitely your kind of day trip! As I said our guide was Jeff who is a gifted storyteller with an endless vault of Chicago history. Ask for Jeff when you book your food adventure. He is an A+ guide.

      Fran is amazing!
Fran was such an excellent host. She shared great local knowledge about the places we visited and passed along our way. The temps were chilly, but she found ways to keep us warmed up as we moved.

Immersive Chicago Experience, Food You Won’t Forget!
We try to do a food tour in every major city we visit, and Bobby’s walking food tour took the cake! Our guide, Jeff (Chicago Gandalf 😂) was incredibly amiable, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel like a group of friends enjoying excellent food while gaining insight into the history and architecture of Chicago. He was a wealth of knowledge, but he was definitely sensitive to the vibe of our group and didn’t barrage us with information that we didn’t show interest in. It was great to have a guide who was flexible and socially aware. There were also a few families on our tour and it inspired us to bring our kids next time - it truly was the highlight of our trip. Thanks, CG!! You made our foodie New Year!

      Amazing tour with guide Jeff
This was the perfect way to start our Chicago vacation! Our tour guide Jeff made sure everything was on point. It was obvious that a lot of thought went into each stop that we made. They made sure that everyone's needs were taken care of and everyone had an enjoyable time. If you're considering a food tour, choose this one it was full of history, fun and of course great food!

Jeff (Chicago Gandalf) was an exceptional guide. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic from start to finish. Our tour ran about an hour long due to unexpected event traffic, but Jeff never lost his enthusiasm and commitment to a great tour. He paid special attention to a female traveling solo and tactfully encouraged the rest of our group to make her feel included. By the end, in large part due to Jeff’s encouragement, our group was chatty and social, making the tour that much more fun. At one point, my bike had an issue and Jeff swapped it with his own for the remainder for the trip. We saw a bunch Chicago, enjoyed some good bites and beers, and had a good time. I’d highly recommend this tour.

Note: Lots of food on this tour, so come hungry. A full slice of deep dish, a full Chicago dog, a very rich cupcake, and probably a full pint of beer across multiple stops. And as a reminder, these kinds of guides rely on gratuity - we recommend $15+ per person, especially considering the length of the tour and their commitment to guest safety.

This was a fantastic experience! It was the perfect way to get a feel for the city's neighborhoods, and check out a few places you might want to go back and explore more. We biked through Lincoln park, beach front, and got some great views of the iconic Chicago skyline. The food stops were delicious—just the right amount of local bites without going overboard or having to over commit $$, as there was only my friend and I travelling.

Our guide, Fran, was absolutely amazing! She was so knowledgeable and made the entire experience even more enjoyable with her insights and kind, welcoming nature. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Chicago in a fun and active way!

My husband and I were only in town for a couple of days and wanted to see the city and try out lots of foods, so chose this tour and it delivered. We loved trying the pizza, cupcakes, Chicago style dogs and seeing so much of Chicago. We often do bike tours when we visit a new city and this was one of the best curated ones we have done. We did it in early November and it was a bit chilly, but overall perfect weather for biking (we did encounter some wind and rain at the very end, but anticipated by checking the weather beforehand and so were fine with coats and ponchos). I'd recommend not eating too much beforehand and making sure you feel comfortable biking 13 miles (mostly flat terrain).

This bike tour with our guide Jeff was an awesome and educational experience to see, taste and engage in the Chicago culture. Their preparation and bike equipment was well maintained and they are prepared to handle the environment and weather with providing water and ponchos as our tour day experienced a little rain but that didn't put a damper on the activities or experience. The Chicago culinary choices were great although I would have preferred more pizza and hot dog type food vs cupcakes but that's 'cause I don't have much of a sweet tooth but the amount of food left us completely satisfied so you do get a meal out of this tour as well as learning about places around Wrigley field that you want to go back to having been given exposed to them and learning the local history. Highly recommend this tour for all abilities since there are no hills and the tour riding is broken up so there's no challenging parts of the ride.

    Best Way to Cover Chicago!

Jeff, aka Chicago Gandalf, was engaging, entertaining and knowledgeable, as well as a consummate professional and rabid cubs fan. The bikes and equipment were outstanding, safety a priority, and a wonderful smorgasbord of local delights made this the highlight of our visit . Would recommend to fun lovers of all ages, but you must be 21 plus to enjoy the bikes, brews and brats trip.

We booked a private tour with Bobby's and it was fantastic. We decided rather late to do this tour with a group of 17 people attending a reunion and they were able to pull it together. Everyone was easy to work with. Our guide Rai was fantastic. The bikes were in excellent shape and comfortable. The food and drinks were fun and appropriate. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a different way to see Chicago. Also, we biked to Wrigley field and back and it was very easy despite being only an occasional biker. No one used an electric bike. It also felt very safe riding in the city streets as a group.

Thanks Joe for a great evening tour! We were only 3 people on the tour so almost a ''private tour''. This was a perfect introduction to Chicago and a nice leisurely ride. I would recommend doing this early in your trip as it provides a good overview of the city while sampling chicago classics like deep dish pizza and hot dogs. Bonus, pick a wednesday evening in the summer to enjoy the fireworks off Navy pier at the end of the tour.

My wife & I lived in the Chicago suburbs our whole life. Every time we visited the city we saw people riding bikes along the lakefront. My wife said she'd love to do this someday. I purchased this tour as a Christmas gift for my wife in 2019. Since Covid struck in the spring of 2020, we couldn't go. Then, we moved to KY last year. Thankfully, Bobby's told me the gift would never expire. We finally got to go last week. It was better than we ever imagined!! Dan was our tour guide & he was absolutely amazing! We highly recommend this tour!

First, let me say that Julia our guide was beyond fabulous. The bikes we rode on we’re absolutely fabulous if you want to E bike make sure you reserve it early. She gave us a complete history of the city of which I knew nothing about and made a 14 mile ride fun, interesting and a total blast and certainly the highlight of my trip to Chicagoland. The stops on the ride were wonderful and we ate and drank, ate again, ate again, drank again till we couldn’t eat anymore. I would have paid double for this bike ride and that still would not have been enough. Thank you Julia for being such an ambassador to your city and Giving us such wonderful equipment to ride on. Bobbys Bikes & company delivers seven star service with the itinerary, the equipment and our incredible guide Julia! Jac Smith Keller Williams St Pete And Tampa, Florida.
