In my opinion, this is the best way to check out Yosemite for the first time and simply enjoy its natural beauty without the hassle of logistics planning. Denise was a stellar tour guide! She told engaging stories throughout the drive, informing us about the history of California, it’s landscape and the many figures that shaped Yosemite’s history. She was also a deft driver. Whew! Those mountain roads are no joke and Denise got us to our many destinations safely and on time.

Our tour through Yosemite exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Denise, was fabulous. Her knowledge of the park and its history was amazing. She made sure we had all the information we needed when going on our own and answered all questions. Denise was kind, respectful, knowledgeable, funny… I would recommend her and extranomical to anyone! Thank you so much for making the tour such fun!

We had limited time to visit Yosemite, so were thankful that someone else was driving us into the park from Groveland. The road in from the north could be challenging. There is so much to take in as you travel through the valley and it is usually busy in the warmer months. Thanks to Roman and extranomical tours for a great overall view of this awesome national park. Would love to revisit and stay in the park some day!

My friend has terminal cancer, has a wheelchair and one of her wishes on her bucket list was to see Sequoia trees. She has one lung which has cancer and also has it in her pancreas and liver. She can walk but for short distances and wanted to use her wheelchair. She would be pushed by her friend through the park so she could relax and enjoy the scenery. For sake of anonymity we will call her RC.

Extranomical's bus driver told RC to walk and not use her wheel chair. The two had no idea how long the walk would be and he did not provide ANY accommodations for a disabled person. I am sure he understood that the terrain would not be good for them to use a wheel chair but he did not arrange for a ride or assistance at all. This must be a violation of ADA rules and standards for companies transporting customers in federal, state and county parks.

Not only did he not help them to get to the trees which is what they signed up for, he yelled at them telling them "to figure it out" after stating that they needed help. He lectured RC and then after finally getting a park ranger after she was short of breath and couldn't walk anymore, he continued yelling and stating that he told them not to see the trees. This is not okay, RC is dying, this was the one thing she wanted to do. Anyone that saw her would know right away that she is going through chemotherapy and is doing the best that she can.

On extranomical's website they have no information about wheel chairs or any restrictions about having one on such trips. If your company can not accommodate then it should be on your website and stated so people understand that they may not be able to see what is advertised if they have a disability.

They trusted your company to guide them and you failed. Your driver should have asked them what they wanted to see on the trip and contacted appropriate channels to get them the help they needed, not ostracize them and raise his voice to them. He showed absolutely no empathy for someone who is struggling in life.

The company was contacted regarding the matter and they totally ignored all correspondence. SHAME ON YOU! - DO BETTER

Your friend is certainly in a tough situation and she has all our sympathy. We were delighted to show her Yosemite Valley which has many wheelchair-accessible roads and trails from which to enjoy the incredible scenery. I hope she enjoyed her free time there. Sadly, the wilderness surrounding the Tuolumne Grove of trees is not a thing that can be “accommodated”. In hindsight, I wish we had encouraged you to take your friend to Muir Woods where the majestic sequoias are far more accessible. We have processes a full refund and hope that this softens, somewhat, your disappointment. I was in nearly constant communication with the driver during your tour and I’d like to correct a few things in your review: • Our website states in several places that the hike to the grove of sequoias is strenuous and not recommended for anyone with respiratory issues and any other disability that impacts mobility • Your guide advised your friend not to attempt the hike since the dirt trail is not paved and the climb back up the 15% uphill grade would be difficult if not impossible. • An accommodation we did make was pausing the tour for 30 minutes while we secured the assistance of two park rangers to rescue and carry your friend back to rejoin the tour. • Our website and other descriptions distributed to our partners' state clearly that, at this time, we are unable offer wheelchair compatible vehicles. I hope that the national park service will one day soon make the Tuolumne Grove more accessible to persons with disabilities. We promise to use our influence to try to make that happen.

Yosemite is gorgeous so any bit you get is worth it. I understand time is a constraint, but I would have appreciated more frequent stops to various view points. The driver’s accent was hard to understand. I would have appreciated to see sunset in Yosemite. This trip is ok for the price, just not too impressed.

Expedition leader, Gino, was very knowledgeable and made sure that all involved had a good time. He ensured we had enough time at each stop and even gave us a view of San Francisco from Treasure Island on the way back. The free time at Yosemite Valley was the best part - such an adventure with great views!
