So glad I did this as a tour and not on my own! It was super soggy so the Wellingtons they provided were perfect (wear thick socks for more comfort). You also get to see more of the country with a guide since you don’t come back the same way as going in. The guides speak English

This is a 10km (6 miles) round trip hike up to the Emerald Lagoon, which is absolutely beautiful. However, the 10km belies the fact that for most of it you are slugging through peak bogs and mud, which makes the 10km seem like 20km. Additionally, the last third is at a 20-25
