First things first: We got to see some spectacular panoramas of the Andes in glorious weather. If that's your only goal, go ahead and book.

Unfortunately that's where the positives stop. The rest felt like the worst kind of tourist mass processing.

- Guests are being picked up in random order, so if you're unlucky to be picked up last, you have to take whatever seats are left, possibly away from your family/friends and almost certainly not next to a window.
- Although the tour was advertised to be in English and Spanish, the guide didn't say a single English word throughout the day.
- The fact that the microphone constantly cut out due to a loose connection didn't help either.
- The individual stops at Potrerillos, the Aconcagua view point and Puente del Inca are only between 5 and 15 minutes each. That's half an hour for a 12 hour day.
- There are longer stops at Uspallata and Las Cuevas, but these are almost exclusively to buy food and/or souvenirs.
- All the shops and restaurants are crammed full with other tour groups, so a lot of the precious time is spent waiting in queues.
- Travellers are being urged to rent (!) winter clothes at one of the shops in Uspallata. I had enough warm stuff on me, but I'm sure it's not a concidence that this wasn't mentioned anywhere beforehand, plus it takes up even more time.
- After having lunch at Las Cuevas we were all asked to board the bus again, only for it to manoeuvre around for 10 minutes and then come to a halt less than 100 metres from its original parking space so we could buy coffee and alfajores at a shop that was literally across the street from the restaurant.
- At one point there was an incident ahead of us, which caused a traffic jam for 1 1/2 hours. While that's certainly not the company's fault, there wasn't a single announcement made throughout that time to at least acknowledge what was going on.

If we hadn't had absolutely perfect weather conditions, this day would've been an utter waste of time.

Booking the trip was easy and the pick-up by our Airbnb right on time. This is a minibus tour so you need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the road. The van was comfortable and air conditioned, with an excellent driver on some impressive mountain roads. We were the only English speakers on the tour and the guide did her best to summarise the key information for us, which suited us well rather than extensive commentary. She was great at answering questions we had. The tour is well planned with regular stops and just the right time for photos, coffees, etc. The lunch was simple but good and eating at communal tables a pleasant experience. There are many police check points and some treacherous roads so it would not be straightforward to do this as a self drive. We highly recommend the tour.

This was a great trip in every way. The scenery was stunning along the route. Our guide Marcos was knowledgeable and friendly, and spoke English very well. We enjoyed each stop, with the short hike at Aconcagua as the highlight. How can you be a beautful car ride from the highest peak in the Americas and not go take a look? The Puente del Inca is a natural bridge over a hot spring that was far better to see in person than I had expected from the pictures. It was fascinating.

We did the private trip. We saw their bus trip at a couple of stops and that looked good too, but with the weak peso right now, the convenience of the private trip was an easy and affordable choice.

Just…WOW!!!! Amazing views and landscape! Everything about the day was excellent. Just can’t get over how beautiful these lands and mountains are. The photos ops are incredible!! Definitely bring a sweatshirt though at least. When you get to the top of the mountain w/ Chile & Argentina it’s windy and definitely a bit cold. Lunch was good too. I would do this tour again 100% the views are that wonderful ❤️❤️🤘🤘🤗🤗

I really recommend this to anyone wanting to try a different experience. You'll see all the beautiful sights Mendoza has to offer while receiving the best guidance from the best guides. In our case, it was Andrea. She's incredibly passionate about her city, she made us really fall in love with it. This trip is incredible because it's unique, you'll see Embalse Potrerillos where you'd feel calm and relaxed and ofc you'd take amazing pictures. Then you'll head out on another 1-hour ride to Aconcagua where you'll start the adventure. The trail is really easy to walk through, and you'll enjoy nature at its best.

You'll end this adventure with Puente del Inca which is really a historic point and worth-while visiting.

In summer, the temperatures in Aconcagua can go down to 0 celsius with big wind, so you better bring suitable clothing and also do not forget your sunscreen, you'll be exposed directly to the sun for about 3 hours.

This review of the Andes Day Trip has been long overdue. The reason why I am finally writing this, is because this tour of the Andes was one of my favourite memories of Argentina. In this regard, I was fortunate enough to tour Argentina just before the COVID-19 outbreak there.

A huge benefit with this company, was that I got picked up & dropped off exactly where I was staying. Their mini-bus picked me up a little later than I was initially informed, however, I soon found out that being late was not an unusual occurrence in Argentina. The other travellers, who were all South American, were usually late getting back on the bus from our various stops & so this was just something to be expected. The only reason I'm mentioning this is to let fellow travellers know not to panic if their mini-van doesn't arrive exactly on time.

The trip covered a lot of distance, so it was a pretty full day: 12 hours worth! We made a number of stops to various landmarks on the way to & from the Principal Cordillera of the Andes.

There were lots of opportunities for photo ops & our tour guide Hernán was not only a great guide, but was kind enough to give everyone enough time to take in the scenic sites & even help us with some photo taking. What impressed me the most about Hernán, however, was the extra effort he made to ensure that I didn't miss out on anything. This was a lot more work for him for just one person, given that I was the only English speaking tourist. He would first provide all the information in Spanish and then very patiently explain everything to me in English right after. Give this man a raise!
One of my favourite scenic points of interest was at a lookout point close to the entrance of Aconcagua National Park. From there we were able to get a nice view (albeit from a distance), of Mount Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere.

Of course, the main highlight of this trip was reaching the mountain peak where the historical monument Christ the Redeemer of the Andes, was located high in the Principal Cordillera on the border between Argentina and Chile. The views of the mountains surrounding that area were beautiful & being able to see both Argentinian & Chilean sides, was quite special. I have to say that the dramatic drive on the narrow winding roads to ascend & descend that mountain, made the trip & scenery even more incredible. Incidentally, it was extremely windy on top, so I would bring a windbreaker with a hood. Do not wear a baseball cap up there -- it will fly off (like mine did).

There were plenty of bathroom stops & so I would strongly recommend bringing your own toilet paper or Kleenex in addition to hand sanitizer (which is probably what most people will be carrying now).

Let's hope that things get back to normal soon, so people can travel freely again & not miss out on seeing new & amazing sights like the ones on this wonderful Andes Day Trip!

We went to see the Andes with Leandro and Nico from Trout & Wine. Leandro was full or fascinating information about the mountains and the cultures that surround them. Aconcagua takes your breath away, figuratively and literally. The park where you see the great mountain is at 9,000 feet. Nico was our driver and boy howdy, does he know how to handle those mountain roads. At one point we had thought about driving up to the park ourselves. Mighty glad we let Nico do the driving and Leandro narrate our way up and back. As with Valeria, Leandro and Nico were very considerate of what I could and couldn't do. I felt totally safe with them. If you are planning on a trip to Mendoza, be sure to schedule a tour with Trout & Wine. You will learn so much about this part of Argentine. You will eat and drink well. (The barbecue we had for lunch after seeing Aconcagua was delicious. Leandro even supplied the wine!) You will meet people who share your passion for travel. And you will be in the company of gracious staff who love sharing their country's geography, culture and cuisine. If I could give them more than five stars, I would.

I took this tour with my husband and mother-in-law. We all had the most amazing time. Our tour guide, Estoban and driver Marcella were excellent. Estoban’s knowledge of the history of the Andes and Argentina in general was just fascinating. His enthusiasm gives you chill bumps. We had several nice stops along the way and were given ample time at each place. He welcomed questions and answered each one in great detail. He did the tour in English and Spanish which was nice. He was so helpful and made sure everyone was safe and enjoyed themselves. . I highly recommend this tour!
