My wife an I booked this ferry trip to Colonia, Uraguay online, prior to our tour of Brazil & Argentina. We had a free day, so we chose to add another country, as a day trip from Buenos Aires. Colonia is an old walled city and there are many shops and restaurants in an area

Ok, so first off, I have to tell you, that we didn't actually get to go on the tour, even though we paid for it, however, the trip is NON-REFUNDABLE. So, you are probably wondering why I would even write a review then, well, let me tell you. I hope I can save you some

Dear Amy, We are truly sorry for the inconvenience. However, we would like to comment you that when you cross the border, even if Uruguay is close to Argentina, you need to arrive at the ferry at least 1h30 before the departure, as you are going to pass through the immigration area. That is why it is a long tour, as crossing the border 2 times in the same day makes you “lose” 3 hours already. We also mention in the description that the tour lasts 10 hours, without the transfer option to your hotel. Also, our cancellation conditions are clearly indicated on the page you booked your tickets and you must have received a email of confirmation as well, with terms and conditions of the tour. Thank you for taking the time to let a review, Best regards,

Basically you do everything yourself until you get to Colonia Uruguay. This means check in via immigration and customs, boarding the boat etc Once you get there it is quite nice (scenic and outdoorsy) and my tour guide Fabian was very knowledgeable with a good sense of humour.

Colonia is pleasant, but there is nothing really special here. There are a few historical (17th-18th century ruins) but otherwise this is just uninteresting and a bit touristy. Our guide was a real sweetheart, and did have some interesting things to say about the history of

Dear Jay, We are truly sorry to hear that you did not enjoy this experience. Colonia del Sacramento is one of the oldest towns in Uruguay. It is renowned for its historic quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For these reasons, the city is visited by many tourists who wish to see it during the day. We regret that the city has not fulfilled your expectations as this city it is known for its cobblestoned Barrio Histórico, lined with buildings from its time as a Portuguese settlement. We are pleased to know that the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We really appreciate your comments as it helps us improve our services. Kind regards, Tangol

We booked the previous evening and paid $110 pp. It is bigger square of cobbled streets. Laid back and quiet like any small town. Nothing special. May be if you stay for a couple of days you would enjoy the walks and slow pace. But for a day trip at that price definitely not
