Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did a private day tour of Johannesburg with Clement and it was amazing! Clement was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about Johannesburg, Soweto, and the apartheid era. Clement shared that he grew up in Soweto, which explains how he knows so much about the area! He was also very professional throughout the day.
We did Constitution Hill, Soweto, the Nelson Mandela House, the Hector Pieterson Memorial (just the lawn), and the apartheid museum. We also had a typical South African lunch in Soweto. Somehow Clement got us to all the spots and kept us on schedule. If you don't have much time in Johannesburg, I really recommend doing this tour and booking it as a private tour. That way you can be more flexible with timing.

Solly is a wonderful character who has such knowledge of the areas you visit. He picked us up from our hotel at the exact time he said he would and his vehicle is spotlessly clean with the offer of sanitiser and fresh water. We were taken to several interesting places including constitutional hill, mandela house, ghandi square and the hector peterson memorial. Lunch was included in a restaurant in Soweto which was exceptionally good. Solly was flexible in that at our request to see the cooling tours in Soweto he gladly did a small detour. We learnt so much from him and i would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone coming to Johannesburg and wanting a great guide.

I would recommend this tour to anyone traveling in Johannesburg. Solly was our guide for the day, and he is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the city. He enjoyed answering any questions we had, and he's very thorough in describing what you're seeing in the city. Seeing the Nelson Mandela house was a very unique experience. I learned a lot about the history of Apartheid and the history of Soweto, specifically.
If you're like to see more of Joburg and learn more about South Africa as a whole, I highly recommend this tour!

I had Solly, the owner and operator of the tour company, as my personal guide for two consecutive days - first one being this tour of Johannesburg and Soweto. Solly is extremely knowledgeable and kind and attentive to details - giving me all kinds of historical context around what I was seeing - and it made my experience so much richer and reward. If you are looking for a local guide who really knows the history, the culture, and the essence of what it means to be South African, Solly is your guy.

Solly is very knowledgeable and friendly. He arrived on time was personable a d ready to go first thing in the morning. I learned so much on this tour even though the Apartheid museum was closed due to COVID I enjoyed his walk thru of the constitutional court to that of the tour guide. You could tell he was more experienced and knowledgeable.
COVID precautions. Solly kept his mask on the entire time and even reminded me that he needed to crack the windows. I felt safe and reassured as he was so conscientious of safety protocols.
This was a great way to spend the day and to learn more about South Africa.
Thanks Solly!

Had a great time with Solly as he took us around to popular sites in Johannesburg. Very down to earth guy and quite knowledgeable too. In between stops he gave us countless history facts about the city and South Africa in general. Definitely recommend for anyone like me who is visiting Joburg for the first time and would like an introductory tour.

Had one day in Johannesburg, leaving on an evening flight. We decided to do this day tour and it was fantastic. Our guide, Lilo, was excellent - incredibly knowledgeable. We were dropped off at the airport which made life so much easier. Of course, you could always spend more time in places - the Apartheid Museum is worth a day by itself. However, the combination of things such as Top of Africa, gave us a really good idea of the layout of Johannesburg and we would definitely recommend this tour.

We had Clemens give us a day tour of Johannesburg and Soweto and loved the experience. He has a wealth of knowledge around the history of the city and did a great job giving us a glimpse of all their is to know. Really enjoyed the tour at Constitutional Hill and the experience within Soweto and getting up close to the community. He did a great job adapting the tour with some locations still closed due to COVID. Highly recommend!

Clement was a wonderfully knowledgeable and passionate guide! We learned so much from him and from the various specialized guides at each of the sites. I also appreciated that we were not forced to (not refrained from) buying art or other souvenirs from local vendors and we couldn't help but cone into contact with some due to the tourist locations we visited. Well worth the visit!

Solly is a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable, explains everything thoroughly and enjoys answering questions. We were on a tight time schedule and he even constructed a personalized itinerary for our second day of touring. Would definitely choose Solly again.

Dear Sir/Madam,
We are a family of 5 adults and would love to do your Soweto / Johannesburg tour. We will be traveling from Graskop/ Sabie on the morning of the 23rd of September hoping to be in JHB by lunchtime. If we were a little later than the 1.30 start time would that be ok? Just incase there is a delay ?
Thanks Tova

I am staying at the Johannesburg Marriott Melrose Arch. I have only 3June available. I have a 0900 COVID test at the hotel. Will that prevent a pick up for me at the hotel
