We just got back to the ship and we had such an amazing time that I HAD to write a review. First, we were met at the ship by Dan who has a CRAZY amount of knowledge about all things Alaska. He typically gives a little tour on the way out of town but when we were early and had already heard most of the stuff he was going to share at a tour we took that morning, he decided to do a 5 min stop at the hatchery and ladder. We were blown away by the amount of Salmon trying to get in to spawn along with how knowledgeable he was. He noticed that the salmon that hadn’t entered the ladder were going crazy and pointed to us to keep an eye out. We were blown away to then watch a sea Lion catch a salmon and eat it!! Then it was back in the van to meet the boat.
Sarah met us at the top of the gangway and was super sweet and informative from the first minute we met her. Both “Scientist Sarah” and “Captain Serge” were amazing people. We felt pampered by them both right from the beginning and they really got into the game of trying to find whales to delight us with. We had told them early in the ride that one of us had a bucket list hope to see an Orca in the wild. Without telling us, they decided to try to find a pod of Orcas that they had heard about by Portland Island. Suddenly Sarah squealed: she and Serge had found us the pod of Orcas.
We were all ecstatic. Our bestie had misty eyes to know that he had seen such a rare site that he had always dreamed of seeing. He turned to Sarah and said: when we get home and tell people about Alaska, THIS is the story I’m gonna tell.
This tour would not been the same if we did not have Dan and his excitement of sharing his love of Alaska with us, And Sarah and Serge who are the most hospitable, knowledgeable team who genuinely love what they do. I really feel like we walked away with true friends. Is this tour expensive? Sure. But this is a once in a lifetime, bucket list thing and I cannot recommend to you enough to take the tour. Treat the three well on behalf of our group who left a little better because of the time we spent with them. Amazing.

What an incredible experience! The whales were really putting on a show for us. And Lilli kept the bubbles flowing while sharing her extensive knowledge about the whales we were seeing. The boats were beautiful and comfortable and our captain Ben shared so much about what we were seeing. Also, the charcuterie was fantastic! We couldn’t have asked for a better excursion! Don’t miss this in Juneau!!!

Shannon and Jacob the great did a fantastic job and gave us an experience of a lifetime. We saw in total 11 whales with whales acting in different manners. We were even able to see a cub jump out of the water several times. Not only that they were extremely insights and knowledge about the whales and answered all the questions asked to them. An amazing experience.

We had a family of 6. We booked from a cruise ship. The most expensive of all excursions, but boat was great. Driver that picked us up was nice and knowledgeable. Naturalist that was on board, Meghan was knowledgeable and was great. The captain, Taylor, however, was awful. Hardly said a word, did not engage with us at all and was on her phone most of the time. She couldn’t have cared less if we saw whales or not. We did see some whales, but we were VERY far away. We didn’t move from one area. She was very uninterested. When you pay $2700 for 2.5 hours, I guess we expected more. Meghan was great, very helpful, very personable and loves whales. Also, we came back to the dock 20 minutes early. When you’re paying $2700 for an excursion, we wanted to be watching whales every minute we could. We got back early (10:10) , we had to wait another 30 minutes (10:45) for the driver to pick us up. So actually out of a 4 hour excursion, you only get 2.5 hours on the boat, and only 2 hours out of that watching the whales.
After reading other reviews, apparently most excursions from this company are great. But the crew can make it break it. Our captain was not in the league as the other captains. So if you book this, make sure your get one of the other ones that were mentioned.

My 78 year old mom and I took this excursion as part of our Carnival Miracle Alaska Cruise. It completely exceeded our expectations. The transportation staff from the excursion was so warm and informative about the area. We had a few photo ops for the Mendelhall Glacier, saw hundreds of bald eagles, stopped to see the fish ladder, etc. This driver was amazing! The boat was beautiful and the driver and naturalist were just as lovely. We learned so much about the whales. We were fortunate enough to see Orca whales that were traveling as well as many humpback whales. Our naturalist was well acquainted with the whale names and had pictures of the tails to prove it. The boat had perfect treats and drinks. Loved the onboard bathroom. Everyone had access to binoculars and photo opporunities galore. I highly recommend this trip for an adventure of a lifetime, the price is worth every penny.

This tour was the absolute highlight of our Alaska Cruise. We booked this tour through our cruise line's excursions and it totally exceeded our expectations. Our shuttle driver, Carter, was full of information and facts about Juneau and the Mendenhall Glacier. He was such a pleasure to meet. When we boarded the yacht it was stocked with drinks, and the snacks-especially the salmon dip-were delicious! Our family was 8 people so we were lucky enough to have Captain Ben and guide Ryan all to ourselves. They were super informative and so much fun! We learned so much, saw many whales and some sea lions, and even a bald eagle on the lightpost at the dock! We cannot recommend Alaska Luxury Tours enough for their hospitality, professionalism and amazing service. Truly a once in a lifetime experience we will never forget.

Best excursion with carnival to date. The bus that picked us up from the pier and the yacht were very clean and welcoming. The staff Andy, Lilli and Capt. Ben did everything to show us the whales. We managed to see a whale breach about 4 times. I highly recommend that you pick them to get you out to see whales in style.

Went whale watching with my mother and friends. Flame and her calf, Bolt, were showing out for my mom’s birthday. Bolt checked out our boat up close and personal - liking popping up to tell her Happy Birthday (see photo). Flame was tail slapping, back stroking, and Breeching. I live in Juneau and have taken Alaska Luxury Tours twice now. I don’t think I could ever go with anyone else. The captain, first mate, and driver were friendly and professional. They truly care that you’re having an amazing experience. The food and booze was delicious. Highly recommend.

Although we had a cloudy, rainy day, we very much enjoyed our private luxury tour. We saw whales, seals and eagles, ate a lot of yummy salmon dip, loved the charcuterie board and had plenty of adult beverages. Captain Brent and Naturist Lilli educated us on many whale facts, including their baleen. A very great memory from our Alaskan Cruise for our 50th anniversary. Highly recommend.

Sergio and Sara took us out on a proper yacht with an open bar and charcuterie. Sergio was a great Captain who took us straight to the whales. Sara was a marine biologist with a depth of knowledge on whale behavior to a point where she could time and predict the behavior of the whales, so we were ready for their next move.
