Discover the charming town of Cartago on a half-day tour that begins with a scenic walk to the train station in San Jose. Take the train to Cartago, then follow your guide on a bike tour around the small city. The guide Gladys was sweet and knowledgeable. She took us on a loop around Cartago on bicycles, to the basilica of Juana Pereira de Los Angelos and to the market. There is one big hill but I am in decent (not amazing) shape and made it with only a brief rest stop on the way up.
