Bird Watching
Had a great time spotting birds around the area. Guide helped us spot and identify many birds, and helped us spotted the yellow throated toucans. Guide was very knowledgable about birds! Scope allowed us to view birds easily. Great tour.

trip in the park
We had a lovely guided tour of the beautiful park, our guide was very, very good, and really knew his stuff. The only downside, and it was a big downside, was the mayhem at the entrance, it really was a free for all and very disorganised. We had a guide with us, dread to think what it would have been like if we had visited independently, and it was at 7.30 am. Also the big hotel at the entrance really spoilt the feel of the place, making it look and feel very commercialised.

Tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Marvin
Marvin was a phenomenal tour guide. He was kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. Before we even got into the park he showed us a sloth! His expertise has no bounds because there were moments when we didn’t see anything at all and he would set down his telescope and show us some of the most amazing animals that we wouldn’t have seen had we been casually walking around alone. In total we saw 5 sloths (including a baby sleeping on its parent). I would highly recommend anyone who visits the National Park was to book with Marvin!

Excellent Guide, absolutely worth the price!
My friends and I went on a tour of Manuel Antonio with Marvin. Our hostel booked the tour the night before with no problem. Marvin was an excellent guide! Before we even got in the park he found a sloth in the distance for us to view. He has a really great mono scope and when you see he has spotted something and gets the scope set up you should get excited because you are about to see some amazing animals/insects up close. We were amazed at his ability to spot animals in the far branches or that were so well camouflaged! Marvin spotted sloths, howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, lizards, reptiles, butterflies, bugs, and other things- all of which we never would have seen just walking along ourselves. We all agreed it was the best idea to get a guide for the park and are so glad we did. Highly recommend to anyone interested in seeing all Manuel Antonio has to offer!

AMAZING!
Marvin was an exceptional guide. He picked us up at our hostel at 7:30am and got us into the park smoothly. He took time to tell us about all the animals we saw and he has such a sharp eye! He could spot even the smallest lizards or sloths super far away, and set up the telescope to show us. We appreciated his kindness and his patience, & he dropped us off at the beach after the tour so we could spend the rest of the day in the park. I would definitely recommend to anyone on the fence about whether to hire a guide or not. You get SO much more out of the experience!

As much authentic as much marvellous!
Andrés our guide was amazing: a real expert and a definitely friendly person! Showered and explained us the whole park in details focusing on many animals and some plants. Andrés helped us to see all the animals better thanks to his telescope and he made some great pictures for us as well! He also answered to all our questions on Costa Rica and gave us very useful advice. We spent such a great day with him: thank you Andrés!! Best guide ever!

Marvin was so interesting and knowledgeable! Also take binoculars!
Had a GREAT tour with Marvin - he is charismatic and informative and he managed to find so many sloths and the other "big hitter" animals - but also showed us loads of smaller or lesser known creatures which I loved as well. He really knows his stuff. He is also a fantastic photographer, getting photos on everyone's phones through his scope. Perfect English and Spanish so nothing to worry about there! He really cared about the environment and the animals and was not doing tricks to tempt the animals to appear or come closer which I personally really valued. My comment about taking binoculars was just around if you want to be selfish and stare at the animals without having to share the scope :P (Marvin has his own but you have to share it with the other people in the group)

A Lifesaver!
This worked out great for us! The driver met us at the airport and took us straight to the hotel near the Arenal Volcano. I was debating about renting a car and am glad I didn't do it. As it turned out, a value added tax went into effect a couple of days after we were there and the truckers blocked the roads and I would have never been able to figure out how to get to the next place! This driver had given me his phone number and I texted with him and he got us picked up from Arenal by his company and taken to Manuel Antonio and then we contacted him again when we needed to go back to SJO to get out flight home. He was a lifesaver! We never saw him after the first trip but he arranged all our other trips for us with his company, on his own time! The vans were clean and all had water and WIFI. They were great!

Fantastic high recommended
Nathan was our tour guide and he was an expert not only in identifying plants animals and insects but in his ability to spot the tiniest of specimens and with his high powered telescope we were able to see close up many many animals than you wouldn’t normally be able to spot walking through the park yourself. Monkeys, sloths iguanas insects bats snakes it’s was amazing! Having a guided tour is the only way to go! Also do yourself a favor and book the afternoon tour like we did - no crowds to battle!! Awesome!!!

Top tour guide for a reason
We just completed a tour with Marvin as our guide. He was able to accommodate us as a last-minute tour (we were enroute to the park). We were extremely lucky. It was obvious from the start that Marvin is a well respected guide among the other guides as well as many of them followed his cues. He somehow spotted tiny rainbow grasshoppers at 20 yards among other amazing animals. You could walk through the park a hundred times and not see what he was able to see. His spotting scope provided great pictures using just the camera on our phones. 10/10!

Excellent Guided Wildlife Tour
Marvin took us on a guided walk in Manuel Antonio park. He is very friendly and informative. Thanks to him, we saw so many animals that we would never have seen on our own. We used his scope to get amazing photos of owls, toucans, howler monkeys, iguanas, a white tailed deer, a raccoon, agouti...and many more creatures. We were so happy we chose the guided walk with Marvin and highly recommend his service to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Marvin - we’ll be back!

Excellent guide - excellent tour!
We have booked a tour with our tour guide Marvin Parra. The tour with Marvin was excellent. It seemed as if he knew everything about the park and the animals living there and most important: where to find them. Highly recommended!

Marvin Parra´s Guidance in Parque Manuel Antonio
Our guide, Marvin Parra, picked us up at our lodgings for our tour of Parque Manuel Antonio. He is extremely well-informed about the flora and fauna in the park; his English and his sense of humor are excellent; and he made our visit particularly interesting, as we would never have been able to notice the wildlife without his keen eye. Our tour was about two hours long, an easy stroll, and we parted ways at the beach, opting to take a bus back to our lodging. We highly recommend this tour!
