What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your San Pedro de Atacama hotel. Meet your guide and settle into the air-conditioned minivan for the journey into the heart of the Atacama desert. Make a short stop along the way to see the Cordillera de Sal (Salt Mountain Range), a rugged landscape of canyons and dunes. Upon arrival at the Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon), pay the entrance fee (own expense) and get insight into the area's geology and ecology through the museum's exhibits. Then, with your guide, venture into a small cave to explore its formations, then hike up a sand dune to view the spectacle of the setting sun lighting up the desert with an orange glow. Afterward, return to the van for the return journey. Your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your hotel.

Out of all the Atacama desert tours, this one seemed a little rushed and lacking in any narration. The sights themselves were beautiful but it would have been better with some engagement from the tour guide. Not sure if the other tours are any better.

For the price it didn't expect much but in the end, it was great. We visited 4 different places and besides the 3 Maria's, which was a Foto-stop only, had time to explore a bit of the area. Ending with a great sunset, the satisfaction was complete. In addition to that, the

It was the first time I got to feel the desert sun and to see the sand dunes. Moon Valley is absolutely impressive and we liked the ride and walk across it very much. The view from above and the sunset over the Valley is definitely something worth seeing!
