Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
With our guide, you will spend your day exploring the beautiful countryside around Battambang on a bicycle. Weave along the river road while visiting Cambodian families who produce traditional products (such as rice paper and bamboo sticky rice), made in the same way they have been for generations. You will learn first hand about every day life in Cambodia from the families you visit and from our amazing local guides.

Highlights: Meet families that make traditional products such as rice paper, dried banana, bamboo sticky rice, fish paste and rice wine. Enjoy seasonal fruits and coconut water. Finish by visiting a memorial site for the victims of the Khmer Rouge.

A portion of your tour fee goes back to the local community and your guide is a local student getting vocational training through Soksabike.

What to Expect
After meeting your guide at your hotel, start the day with a welcome drink at a local café, learn a few Khmer phrases, and go over the basics of bike safety. As you ride, make a series of stops at local family houses to learn about some of the products they make, such as rice paper, dried banana, bamboo sticky rice, fish paste, and rice wine. Pause at a traditional house for a snack of fresh fruit and coconuts, all while learning what life is like in the villages you pass. Throughout the tour, take advantage of your time with a local university student guide to ask questions about Cambodian culture or history. He or she might even share some personal insights with the group. After your final stop at a memorial to the victims of the Khmer Rouge, you’ll finish the ride at a central location in Battambang.

This was such a great way to see areas of Battambang I otherwise never would’ve visited. So interesting to see how locals live, and to experience their culture. I had a great time!
