After meeting your guide at your hotel, start the day with a welcome drink at a local café, learn a few Khmer phrases, and go over the basics of bike safety.
As you ride, make a series of stops at local family houses to learn about some of the products they make, such as rice paper, dried banana, bamboo sticky rice, fish paste, and rice wine. Pause at a traditional house for a snack of fresh fruit and coconuts, all while learning what life is like in the villages you pass.
Throughout the tour, take advantage of your time with a local university student guide to ask questions about Cambodian culture or history. He or she might even share some personal insights with the group. After your final stop at a memorial to the victims of the Khmer Rouge, you’ll finish the ride at a central location in Battambang.
