Greet your private guide at the AirAsia–Bukit Bintang Monorail station and head for the nightlife area of Jalan Bukit Bintang. Start at the Hutong Food Court to experience “siew bao” (crispy barbecued roasted chicken buns) and the Malay classic curry puff, a flaky pastry filled with chicken curry.
Amid the hawker stalls and seafood eateries of Jalan Alor, let your guide select dim sum and satay, Malaysia’s answer to kebabs. Visit a “mamak”—Malaysian-Indian eatery—for paper-thin “dosa” pancakes served with Indian sauces. Wash everything down with a foaming glass of “teh tarik” milk tea before you bid your guide farewell in central Bukit Bintang.
