About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- janetd900 contributionsGreat Company to Work WithWe did three tours with Boquete Outdoor Adventures. The employees were thoroughly professional and well informed. Jaime was our guide on the Pipeline Trail and to the Lost Waterfalls. The man has a wealth of information about the flora and fauna of the region, along with the ability to walk on a trail while looking in the treetops without falling down. My significant other and I agreed that we wouldn't have seen a tenth of what there was to observe without Jaime there to locate and point out wildlife and plants. Pipeline Trail: Easy. Wildlife. Old-growth trees. Very busy. Lost Waterfalls: Moderate. Lots of stairs. Some steep climbs. Muddy. Moderately busy. Three waterfalls. Our third tour was the Island Tour, which took us to a national park in the Gulf of Chiriquí. Ed was our guide that day. We enjoyed the boat ride with Ed pointing out sights along the way, including howler monkeys. Then there was swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding from a beach, as well as a lunch featuring, among other things, an array of delicious fresh fruits. A guide can make or break your tour. Jaime and Ed did an awesome job.Written 22 February 2025
- staciehagwood0 contributionsIsland Visit/ Snorkeling Muy Tranquilo!A great, relaxing excursion. A 20 minute boat ride with Eduardo to a sandy beach with adjacent reef. Snorkel, hang out in a hammock or take a swim. Fantastic lunch. We snorkeled and saw pufferfish, a tiger snake eel and a sea turtle, along with an array of beautiful, colorful fish.Written 19 January 2025
- staciehagwood0 contributionsExcellent RaftingOne of THE BEST rafting trips I have ever been on. Knowiedgeable guide (Chebo) pointed out things along the way (saw squirrel monkeys twice and a boa hanging out in a tree, plus lots of birds). The rafting was challenging but in a good way. There was never too much time of having to paddle to the next rapids. Great lunch. Highly recommend. Love that they take pictures and you can retrieve them for free.Written 19 January 2025

- Leslie G0 contributionsVery bumpy ride worth itWe did the 4x4 Volcan Baru sunrise tour. It was beautiful. The ride is bumpy as everyone says. We are used to 4x4, country driving, and Pink Jeep. This was far bumpier than anything we had experienced. Not bad. Very technical. David was our driver and we felt safe the entire time. One of us is scared of heights and hates driving up mountains. This is tress and rock on both sides. Felt a lot safer than hanging off the side of a Colorado or Nevada mountain going 50mph. David drove slow, explained things as we went up, had a great playlist, and has good English. At the top it was raining and cloudy at first. David gave us jackets, gloves, and blankets. We walked to the top, then down for breakfast, then all chose to go back to the top once the clouds cleared after breakfast. David made us a breakfast of pastry, cheese, strawberries, corn cake, candy, and hot chocolate and coffee. Pick the hot chocolate with marshmallows. David had great playlists of classic rock on the way up and chill music on the way down. Best part of the day was the way David helped people. We saw workers walking up. David stopped to carry their bags up. We saw tired hikers at the top. David rearranged the truck to fit them in on the way down. His pure, loving heart showed and was as beautiful as the view at the top. Thanks for a great day.Written 26 November 2024
- lkrocks0 contributionsThe most AMAZING experience…not to be missed! The MOST amazing part of our trip to Boquete! From the moment we got into the van, to the narrated drive, boat trip to the island and our 4 hour island stay the memories just kept on being made! Our guide was excellent and he and the boat captain worked hard and found whales AND dolphins! Guide also set up a beautiful lunch, had all the gear (noodles, paddle board etc) pointed out the wildlife, and overall just made sure we all had the best of times! Highly recommend this trip!!!!Written 16 November 2024
- kentl3820 contributionsHave a spectacular tour with Boquete Outdoor Adventures. We did!Ed was our guide and provided us a thoroughly delightful day of whale watching, beach relaxing, snorkeling and tropical lunch. He is a true professional and always provided us details on what we were seeing and explained the whale activities and got us some awesome closeup photos! We highly recommend him and his company. The entire day was well organized, energetically presented and fun from start to finish.Written 18 August 2024
- rich_green0 contributionsBest day of our holidayThis was our favorite day of our whole holiday . Ed was a great guide and we were extremely lucky to see baby humpback whales jumping out of the water on our return as well as a pod of dolphins and other whales on the way there. The 4 hours on the isla bolanos was brilliant snorkelling and paddleboarding. Ed prepared a tasty lunch. We also had access to thebphtots and videos ed took on the day.Written 12 August 2024
- 620brendanf0 contributionsGreat experience for new and experienced white water raftersThis was a really great excursion. My mom and I went, and this was her first time white water rafting, but it was my third. The guides were very informative and helpful, and the rapids were exhilarating. The water was refreshing and the lunch picnic was great. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in trying out white water rafting.Written 20 May 2024
- ChoHa130 contributionsfun family timeGreat fun for the kids. The guides were fun, and helpful, and very skilled. I saw one guy haul two big adults out of the water simultaneously. The rapids were really mild and not terribly exciting for adults. However it was the end of the dry season, and Panama was experiencing a drought. So perhaps your trip may be wilder. Lots of beautiful birds. Tips: it is over an hour bus ride from Boquete. So if you are in David, sign up and save some driving time. Our valuables were safe on the bus while we rafted. We were told to bring clothes to change into. There was nowhere private to change. No bathrooms before or at the end of the trip. However that did not stop any of us from having a fabulous time.Written 13 May 2024
- annikadietmayer0 contributionsOne of the best things in PanamaWe booked the Rafting-Tour and it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was brilliant, we felt super safe and Tini our guide was absolutely funny. He managed everything perfect and did many jokes. We laughed all the time and had an amazing day. Also he gave us all advices in spanisch and englisch. Everybody who wants to go rafting in Panama should go to Boquete Outdoor Adventures.Written 29 March 2024
- dumbows0 contributionsJump on this one! This tour was wonderful! We were the only two on our tour and the company did not cancel or try to reschedule. Then we ended up being the only two people at the canyon! Water was clean and warm. Jaimie our driver/guide was super friendly, knowledgeable and took great photos for us! He walked us through where to jump, water depth etc. Great experience!Written 26 March 2024

- bobm1890 contributions3 Excellent Guides and Tours - Recommend HighlyWe did 3 tours with Boquete Outdoor Adventures in one week and all 3 were great. Each guide was specific to their tour and extremely knowledgeable about their area of expertise. We would give 5s to each of our 3 adventures, and our guides, who all spoke excellent English. Our first tour was the Pipeline Cloud Forest Trail with Jamie. His grandfather owns agricultural land adjacent to the trail and it was evident he knew it well. The trail itself was mostly even but definitely a climb up into the cloud forest. The trail was well kept with several “bridges” over the steam as we crossed back and forth. Jamie pointed out all the significant flora and fauna and explained a lot of the local agriculture and history. He found and spotted 2 different Quetzales for us. He even took some pictures through the spotting scope using our camera. Best yet, all the pictures he took were available on-line the next day for free. The second tour we took was the Isle Bolanos Beach Day tour in Chiriqui National Park, a marine reserve. Eduardo, or Ed, was another excellent guide. He filled us in on the anything we wanted to know about Panama on the informative ride to the Boca Chica, and worked hard to make our all day experience fun and relaxing. Isle Bolanos has a pristine white sand beach with idyllic turquoise green water. Ed did all the work, setting up a wonderful picnic area in the shade with hammocks, and brought all the water toys you might want: Paddle boards, floats, snorkeling equipment, etc. He set up the area for us and delighted us with a delicious lunch he prepared while we enjoyed the beach and water. The best part was that we were the only ones on the beach for the entire afternoon – an unexpected bonus to enjoy the day! The tour also includes changing rooms, banos, and showers if desired before heading back to Boquete. Again, all the pictures that Ed took were available the next day on-line for free. Our third adventure was the 4 X 4 Tour for Sunrise at Volcan Baru. Our driver and guide was Felix. After a 3:45 am pickup, we rode for 2 hours up to the tower array at the top of Volcan Baru. The trip was exciting, to say the least. The 4X4 trail was extremely rugged, but Felix did an excellent job of navigating the steep and very rocky portions (we have done the white rim trail in Canyonlands National Park in a 4X4, and this was more rocky). We arrived at the top about 40 minutes prior to sunrise, and hiked up the trail to watch sunrise. Because one of us has knee problems, we skipped the final very steep and rocky part to the very top and cross in the dark. Felix put us on a mid-point outcrop with the same panoramic view. We were lucky in that there was no cloud cover on the Pacific side, and some limited cloud cover on the Atlantic/Caribbean side. The sunrise was beautiful and we were able to see both the Atlantic and Pacific – the only place in the Western hemisphere you can do that. Sunrise was followed up by another delicious meal - picnic breakfast on flat land on a rug, with chairs, and hot coffee! It was chili (but can be cold), but we were prepared. The guide had hats and gloves if needed but we did not need them. The 4X4 trip down was even more fun because we could now see where we were going! We would highly recommend using Boquete Outdoor Adventures for any tours you want to take in and around Boquete.Written 4 March 2024

Great experience! We learned a lot of the biodiversity and saw things we would definately have missed if we were without a guide. The guide was super enthusiastic and could answer all our questions. Would recommend if you want to do a hike at a different way then just walk the trail :)

Hike was reasonably priced, started right on time, included a small and happy group. Pace was tailored to interests of participants. Guide (Jaime) was knowledgeable about plants, insects, and birds, and knew exactly where and how to find a Quetzal. We lingered in the forest taking photographs and admiring the beautiful bird. It was a great finale for our trip to Panama.

We did the Lost Waterfalls hike with Jaime, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Panama! He was so informative, taking time to discuss the history, and pointing out different plants and insects along the way. Jaime set a nice pace for the hike. He made sure everyone was safe and had time to enjoy the breathtaking views. He took lots of pictures of our group and made them available online for free.
And the best part of all was being able to swim in the waterfall pools! I can't recommend this tour highly enough!

Our guide grew up on the land surrounding the tour. He is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area.
Without him, we would have seen only plants. He showed us a hummingbird on the nest, crazy insects, and all sorts of cool flora/fauna.
We did the tour in the afternoon, which was way too hot. Recommend morning hikes

Our guide Jaime is clearly in love with nature, the area of Boquete, and his role as an ambassador of nature. And it shows from his enthusiastic description of the locations, plants and animals. We did not get to see a quetzal in a close-up view, but one was flying overhead. From the lucky days when Jaime captured even more beautiful views than presented themselves to us today, he saved them on his phone and makes them available for download.
Very nice experience! In addition to Jaime, the other staff in the Boquete Outdoors Adventures office is also very nice, for example Lily.

Our guide, Jaime, was fantastic and made the experience one of the highlights of our trip to Boquete. Jaime was thoroughly knowledgeable about not just the area, but also about the history, the biomes and the impact of the broader climate on the area. We really enjoyed our hike, and we saw several Quetzal birds!

Jaime our guide was fantastic super knowlegable and took great pictures of us along the trail! we ended up seeing four waterfalls with translucent butteflies and cool insects dotted along the trail. some parts of the trail required a little athleticism as there is a rope on some steep muddy parts. wear comfortable shoes to hike in!
When we went the clouds actually lifted and we enjoyed a very sunny bright hike through all the waterfalls. It was great if you visit Boquete, You have to visit the cloud forest!

Cordiales saludos.
