What to Expect
Begin your day with convenient pick-up at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal and then head by bus to Meiji Shrine, Tokyo’s most popular Shinto site. Here your guide fills you in on the fascinating history of feudal Japan. Keep an eye out for the shrine’s larger-than-life torii, or Shinto gates—some of the tallest in the country.
From there, cruise past the Japanese House of Parliament on your way to the Imperial Palace East Garden, the sprawling lawn of an Edo-era castle. Browse the souvenir stalls along Nakamise Shopping Street before getting a peek at Tokyo’s oldest temple, the 7th-century Buddhist pagoda of Senso-ji (aka Asakusa Kannon).
Enjoy a tasty lunch at a garden-side restaurant before setting sail on Tokyo Bay, where you can admire the city’s neon-filled skyline during a scenic cruise. The tour concludes at Tokyo Station.
