Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- kimberlysX5616OH0 contributionsTime well spent. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Johnny. He was fun and informative. Great driver too. He connected well with the group.Written 21 March 2025
- nitzanegron020 contributionsNot worth the costFor the price of this tour the experience was very disappointing. We chose an English tour guide at booking. It ended up being Spanglish, with a guide whose English accent was so bad you couldn’t even really understand. Also he just stated random facts about Pablo criminal life, it wasn’t chronological so that the people like me who aren’t super familiar could follow. So I became disinterested quick. The bus AC wasn’t working so it was extremely hot inside and miserable. I literally ended the tour knowing the same information as when I came. It wasn’t worth the cost whatsoever.Written 17 March 2025
- LightPacker7484200 contributionsPablo tourInteresting tour. Johnny was very knowledgeable and informative. Some language barrier, sometimes difficult to understand therefore some questions not answered. A little pricier compared to other tours. But, overall good tour.Written 12 March 2025
- Mark H0 contributionsTrip was ok. Trip Advisor Suck !There was no communications with anyone before the tours. We did not know where exactly at the park was the meeting point. We sent several messages through the website. Responses came so late and some after we started the tour. This was much more expensive than other website . I will NEVER use Trip Advisor ever againWritten 8 March 2025
- 811angied0 contributionsPablo Escobar TourThe Pablo Escobar tour was very informative and provided a deep dive into his history and legacy. The guide shared detailed stories that helped bring the past to life, making it especially interesting if you've seen Narcos or El Patrón del Mal. Visiting key locations from his life and understanding the real story behind them was a unique experience. Unfortunately, the heavy rain and traffic made moving between sites a bit challenging, but overall, it was still a worthwhile tour. It's definitely a good experience.Written 3 March 2025
- K3935NThannahm0 contributionsGreat!Tour is exactly as described. The sights are quite far apart by bus, so you spend a lot of time in the bus, but the guide is excellent and very knowledgeable, talking during most of the journey.Written 3 March 2025

- R4479SAedwardw0 contributionsA nice tourIt was a nice tour. The guide, I forgot his name, had a lot of knowledge, especially about the various people involved. He wasn’t always easy to hear clearly and wasn’t always the best storyteller - some things he explained better than others. The places visited were interesting and the cemetery had some excellent views. The nature of this tour means you spend a decent amount of it driving.Written 16 February 2025
- T9040VJbrandonk0 contributionsFun and informative!I took Jhonny’s tour. He was a friendly and knowledgeable guide—but even as a native English speaker I had difficulty understanding him at times. Nevertheless, the tour was enjoyable, especially visiting the Pablo Escobar neighborhood.Written 16 February 2025

Outstanding tour put together by the guys. Lucho was a really great guide. There is a really good vibe in Comuna 13 and it's great to see how people have the power to change things for the better. If you are coming to Medellin on vacation this tour should be number 1 on your list because it's real quality at a very reasonable price. Thanks Lucho for your enthusiasm and razor sharp wit.

I heard about this tour but I was not sure what to expect. First of, the instructions on trip advisor were very clear and made locating the instructors pretty easy. Because we were a large group, we were divided into two groups. I also liked this because it is easy to get lost in the sauce when it’s a very large group. My group was paired with an instructor who is local to Communa 13. Alex was a great instructor, highly intelligent and very knowledgeable about everything. I went on a Sunday which we were told was the more busy days and you could see the crowd but being a local, Alex was able to guide us through the alleys, provide historical background to monumental places and shared with the history behind significant graffiti’s. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend being paired with Alex if you go for the tour. We also got to experience some local appetizers of some sort which they curated as well. I think the tour is well planned, only thing I may have like was to visit the places that hand the hand sculptures to take pictures but that’s a personal preference.

Most of the time on this tour was spent watching two performances by local dancers and rappers and going to two places for street food. Our guide Carilyn did an ok job but could have provided a lot more history and information about the neighborhood. I felt she only scratched the surface. The street food was not at all healthy (fried empanada and sausage) so I passed on most of it. Although the street food tasting was included in the price, the drinks were not and I felt that going to 3 establishments was more to provide income to the places. We were grouped with other tour groups to watch two street performances (again bring some extra money as tipping is strongly encouraged). Although the neighborhood is interesting to learn about, unfortunately is has become packed with hundreds of tourists on many groups which comes along with hundreds of vendors selling similar items (hats, etc).

this was a wonderful tour, mixing personal stories with narrative and history, and really bringing the community and life of the neighborhood to the perspective of folks walking the tour. Letting us experience how the place has grown and changed over time and really understand the importance of such a wonderful space within the city. I was so happy to be there to experience the art the culture of the people it was really a wonderful adventure and would highly recommend to others looking for Something that is authentic and true to the city

Witness this enterprising community seek to overcome their many challenges with art, dance and stories of resilience. They didn’t skimp on the food either - all of which was included in the tour price.
I wondered why this tour was so much cheaper than others, and it was explained that it’s because they want to keep it affordable so that more ppl can hear their story. Fair play. A fun and informative half day. Book this tour!!

Take this tour!!! Our guides were Julio and Jeremy and they were fantastic. They’re locals and you could hear their passion as they described the history of their neighborhood. The area is touristy (be prepared to be taken into various shops) but that’s part of the fascinating history of a community that used to be incredibly dangerous and then used art and now tourism to take back control and become a safer space. Our tour lasted 4 hours but our guide asked us if it was ok to take longer before we started and we all gladly said yes. Finally, highly recommend taking the 4:30 tour because then you get to see the city lights twinkling at night. Thank you so much!!!

What an amazing tour! Julio is such an awesome tour guide and really took the time to help us understand the history and current climate of Comuna 13. The walking tour was full of beautiful people, artist, artwork, food, coffee, and views! Literally one of the best walking tours I’ve ever been on and I would recommend it to everyone!

The Comuna itself is a very lively area so definitely a place to visit with lots of street vendors, live music, dance and of course souvenirs.
The host of our tour was really nice and extremely passionate about his job being thorough and educating the group on the history of Colombia.
My only con was the tour was meant to be 3 hours and ours got pushed to 5 from the amount of information being delivered and staying longer at certain spots.
So maybe just to be a little more mindful in terms of time.
On that note, I do recommend purchasing street food during the tour as the snacks that are included are two very small empanadas with a quarter piece of a hot dog and a flattened and fried Plantain with Tomato. Just as you’re doing quit a bit of walking the empanadas and the other vendors are large, cheap and very delicious! All in all the tour was a delight and we would be happy to recommend anyone visiting!

Highly recommend this tour to gain insight into history and life in the poorer neighbourhoods of Medellin. Our guide was Jameson and he was excellent. What elevated the tour to the next level was his personal experience of growing up in Communa 13 and the dramatic & tragic stories he shared from his own life & family. The food part of the tour is delicious and the views of the city from the top are another treat. Overall a warm, heartfelt & colourful experience. Come prepared with comfortable walking shoes (there are plenty of stairs) and a hat and/or umbrella.
