Incredible experience making pottery
Since we're stuck here in Cambodia during the COVID pandemic we thought we may as well experience as much as we could from the local businesses. Khmer Ceramics has been one of my favourite activities so far. Mr Kimshay was very helpful with the introductions and our teacher Sovanny was incredibly patient with our clumsiness. We learnt everything about pottery from how the clay is gathered in Cambodia, the correct steps with making a fine pottery product, and tips on how to define your own unique designs. We made a bowl, a mug, a vase and something else to our creation to get us more familiarised with pottery. We ended up taking home two bowls and paid an additional $5 for a plate. It took a little over a week for the final products to be ready. However, one thing we weren't aware of is how much clay shrinks! Our large bowls and plates turned out tiny, haha. Better luck next time. Highly recommended! Great spot for mates and families.

Helpful, kind staff and a great experience for all ages. While I'm an adult woman, there were also parents with children in the class and they seemed to enjoy it just as much. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling through Siem Reap!

A lot of fun at a reasonable price
Mar 2020
My sister and I went to the pottery class in Siem Reap in March 2020. We were picked up by tuk tuk and taken to the class - about 10 minutes away. The class is outside (covered) and was quite cool. the teachers are all deaf mute and there is one teacher to two students. We had a lot of fun and made 5 pots (with quite a lot of help!) You can have one fired or pay $5 for any additional pots. I never realized how much hard work it is to keep the wheel going - potentially difficult if you have back or hip problems. Definitely worth a visit. You can collect your pots the next day after 4pm (make your own way there) - be aware that they shrink a lot when fired! Would recommend this if you have a couple of hours free.

Excellent break from Angkor Wat learning traditional pottery
Feb 2020
This pottery class was a lot of fun. I'm not sure if a couple hours is enough to get the technique down but the teachers guided us and fixed our mistakes very easily. The wheel is a bit hard to get pumping as its a manual process but seeing the clay take shape makes it feel worth the work. You get to make 5 different pieces (cup and bowl shapes) and then design them with a wood pencil to decorate. You can choose one to take home and they fire it up for you or, if like us, you wont be here the next day for pickup they let you have something from their shop instead up to 10$. And lets be honest all their pieces were a lot nicer than our own so we weren't too sad at all to leave our pieces. The instructors are deaf, there is a lady who explains but the actual instructors who guide your hands cannot speak but there were no problems communicating. I liked that this supports jobs for them and they are very skilled, our instructor saved my broken clay many times and made it look so easy. Also the free pick up and drop off was very convenient and the staff even helped us to arrange a different drop off to our pick up as we were leaving Siem Reap the same day. I would highly recommend!

Fun experience
The pottery class was a fun experience and the instructors (deaf mutes) were super patient and helpful. It's nice to have pick up and drop off included, though I would have liked it better if you didn't have to pay for getting more than one of your pieces.

Great time!
This was a last minute decision but so glad we made it. Our two teenage kids had a great time and we did too. The staff were so skilled, helpful AND patient! Very well organized and a lovely garden setting and a shop onsite with some really unique and beautiful pieces.

A wonderful experience in Siem Reap
Feb 2020 • Couples
We enjoyed the pottery class during our staying in the beautiful city of Siem Reap. The place was quite easy to find and the location is really relaxing and quiet, compare to the busy city center.
They showed us a simple demonstration to understand the process of making ceramics pieces and then we started to play with the clay. For all the time we had a special guy that help us making our pieces. He was really nice with us and he had a lot of patience!!¡
The day after we went to the place to pick up the pottery and we were surprising to see how beautiful was the result!
For sure a great experience to suggest to everybody who wants to relax and discover the world of ceramics!
