The best decision you can make= Nick's Adventures
Apr 2021 • Couples
If you're reading this and trying to decide which travel experience to choose while you're in Bolivia, the rest of your day just opened up. Nick and his team are your answer to a once in a lifetime experience in Bolivia.

My husband and I planned a last minute, 3 week trip with Nick's company and they couldn't have been more accommodating. We worked with Gladys who helped us to organize and plan the trip. She's amazing. She is responsive to your emails before the trip and your whatsapp messages during the trip. She even helped us find a pharmacy in Bolivia when my husband got an eye infection.

Nick's company planned all days of our trip, with the exception of 4 of them, and, honestly, we probably would have had even more fun if we had them plan those 4 days.

We went to JaguarLand with Nick (el jefe and world class jaguar advocate), Jose Luis (driver and Bolivia's greatest treasure), and Yethey (cook and aspiring airplane mechanic). We saw 2 jaguars on the first day (!!!), macaws, monkeys, river dolphins, armadillos, and so much more. Unbelievable wildlife sightings and memories made.

Nick's Adventures also planned our experiences to Amboro (shout out to our amazing guide Paolo), Uyuni/Sucre/salt flats, and Madidi- Chalalan Lodge. I would recommend them all, especially Amboro if you like hiking.

If you want to see the beauty of Bolivia and meet some incredible people, contact Nick's team now. You won't regret it.

Superb trip professionally arranged by Nicks' Adventures !
Apr 2019 • Couples
Just come back from a 14 day birding trip to Bolivia including a 3 day package to Amboro N P and the locally run Red Fronted Macaw reserve near Comorapa .It was a particularly tricky venture to arrange as my usual agent could not get a local tour firm at any where near the price I wanted to pay and because of my already extensive South America list there were very specific locations I needed to visit to see my target birds .I contacted Nick by email and straight away I realised he knew the area well , I had a particular bird , a KING VULTURE , that I had been trying for right through Central and South America . Nick identified that he had seen this bird recently in Amboro N P and immediately quoted me for a 3 day trip with English speaking guide and 4 wheel drive vehicle with driver , to include a second night at the Red Fronted Macaw site , a bird with less than a thousand individuals left in the wild!
To cut a long story short , we agreed a price , I sent Nick 50% of the total by credit card and subsequently took in cash the day before departure and had a really successful trip adding both birds to my life list along with a further 40 unseen species . This in itself may not seem a lot but I had already seen over half of the 1400 Bolivian species before I made it to the country !
Overall the service I received , was beyond the call of duty ...Nick also agreed to obtain a copy of the Birds of Bolivia [in english ] , I of course paid in advance and the brand new copy was there to greet me ! This may not seem a big deal but anyone considering doing a similar trip will already realise that it is impossible [you try!] to obtain a copy of this book outside the country !!!
In conclusion my UK agent quoted just under £4000 for my total 14 day trip without specialist guides and I had the excellent Ramon [bird guide ] and the great fun driver ,Eriman as company and we did the whole trip for £2209 adding a further 102 birds to our life list ...hats off to Nick and his team and I would recommend any birder taking on a similar venture to give him a ring ! jim N uk

Hi Jim We are very happy to hear that your birding trip was a success. We are working extremely hard to provide high quality birding trips in Bolivia and we only work with the most trusted guides and drivers. Amazing to hear you saw the King vulture and the critically endangered Red Fronted Macaw as well We would also like to let you know that money from this trip also went to the local community which helps preserve the Red Fronted Macaw so we would like to thank you for supporting our conservation efforts as well Cheers Nick and the team

Unforgettable Trip/Jewel of a Guide
Apr 2018 • Solo
I took the multi-day trip to Amboro in January 2018 with Nick. I've traveled a lot, and this is one special trip that pops up into my happy memories often. The hikes are exciting and beautiful but Nick made it an over the top exceptional experience. He was a wonder, super passionate about the wildlife and jungle, knowledgable, and always reading about jaguars in his down time. If you want to tour with someone who truly cares about the location and your comfort as a guest, this is the guy for you. I even ended up missing his company after just a few days together! Take any trip with his group! You won't regret it.

The highlight of our Bolivia visit
Feb 2019 • Family
We were lucky enough to head down to Refugio los Volcanes at the edge of Amboro National Park from Santa Cruz with Nick. We tried to plan for a larger group of our family members to go, and Nick was flexible and quick in getting back to us through the entire process.

It ended up just being my family of four, and despite the fact that we were rather last minute in finalizing our plans, things could not have worked out better for us.

My 9 year old moves at a near sloth-like pace and I was just getting moving again after an injury, but Nick was still able to show us so much in the limited time we had. If there is wildlife around Nick will find it, you top that off with stunning scenery and refreshing waterfall swims and you have the recipe for what my kids referred to as "the best part of the whole trip to Bolivia". Many things about our trip were amazing so this says a lot.

A few other bonuses for us were that there were way less biting insects than we expected in Amboro, there was an abundance of healthy vegetarian food served at the lodge, you could be content just sitting in the hammock enjoying the view all day, it's that lovely, and Nick was extremely knowledgeable about many things Bolivian. Of course getting picked up at the hotel and dropped off at the airport made things ridiculously convenient for us as well.

I would not balk of the price of this tour. The experience is once in a lifetime, everything went seamlessly and we learned and enjoyed a wide variety of things in a short amount of time, a tour well worth every penny.

The next time we're in Bolivia we'll definitely hit Nick up for another tour.

Wonderful stay last week at Refugio los Volcanes, Parque Natural Amboró, Bolivia. Total digital detox. Reminiscent of “The Lost World”...! Matchless guide Saúl, sooo knowledgeable about birds, etc.
Also did the Lomas de Arena trip with Iver, great.
10/10 to Nick’s Adventures.

Great service for getting close up to wildlife in Eastern Bolivia
Dec 2018 • Business
I have used Nick's Adventures several times for business trips to Santa Cruz and have enjoyed the best quality tours Nick and his staff provide. Nick is a top notch guide and wildlife enthusiast, and his passion for conservation of wildlife is outstanding. This man is a credit to the places he runs tours and I could not recommend this service more if you are travelling to Eastern Bolivia (which I also highly recommend.)

Solo travel was safe and fun!
Jun 2018 • Solo
When my company sent me to Bolivia for work, I knew I wanted to spend some extra time to see this beautiful country. As woman traveling alone, I wanted an adventure but safety was also on my mind. I am so glad I found Nick’s Adventures! I went to Refugios Los Volcanes with Iver and I felt completely safe doing so. Iver’s English is excellent and I learned a lot about the nature and culture of Bolivia.

It was winter in Bolivia, so there were very few guests at the lodge but the family who runs the lodge made me feel welcome. The home cooked meals were tasty. Winter also meant that there was not much wildlife out, but I knew that ahead of time. I did get to see the Macaws flying through the tree tops which was a special treat.

If I get to go back to Bolivia again, I will definitely contact Nick’s Adventures for another tour.

Fantastic all round service
Mar 2018 • Solo
I never met Nick but his service was excellent. I was a solo travellar and as normal travelling solo can be costly. I booked the English 2D1N to Refugio De Los Volcanes and kind of accepted the high cost due to the 5 star reviews this company as. Anyway Nick found 2 other travellars for me which helped bring the cost down for me which was a great start!

The tour itself, well it was superb. Everything was on time and run smoothly. Our guide (I forget his name but it was Ivan or Iver) and he was brilliant. His English was top notch and he was very caring and open with us in terms of what we would like to do at Refugio site. He also has some stories we got to hear over dinner. On the subject of Dinner I don't think I told Nik I was vegetarian but either way the food was fantastic for me even in such a remote place.

Oh also the accomodation is great for being in the middle of a jungle.

In terms of the actual trip I won't ruin too many spoilers but it's a beautiful and very unique setting. Definitely worth doing.

Hi Ed So happy you enjoyed the trip , and that we were able to find other travellers to lower the costs. We really worked hard to find others as we know for solo travellers it can be expensive. Thanks for leaving us feedback as well, it helps us improve our services, about the guide, i will pass on your feedback to Iver as well, we only work with a selected few guides which is why we can have the best quality tours in this region. I also sent you images from the camera trap as well, so hope you enjoy them Best wishes Nick

Refugio Los volcanes lodge tour
My partner and I went on the 2 day, 1 night Amboro south tour to refugio los volcanes. Nick provided prompt and excellent help from the start and even after our tour. He helped advise of what tour options we had and provided help of what else to see and do while in Santa Cruz.

The refugio is in a stunning location, with amazing jungle to walk in the surrounds to the lodge. The service was excellent to and from the hostel door. Iver our guide had fantastic English (since our very poor spanish) and was keen as us to go hiking in the pouring rain and even took us on a night spotlight even though it wasn't planned.

It was good to go with the tour as we got heaps of information about the local area but if you are an independent traveller you can stay refugio and hike by yourself.

Thanks again Nick for all your assistance we really appreciate it!
