Our driver Mian Sajid contacted us to advise pick up time and arrived promptly. He collected another couple on the way to the desert, showing us points of interest on the way. Mian was very friendly and remained our driver/guide for the duration of the trip. You have the option to go quad biking (at an extra cost) and the local shop to purchase head scarves, which I would recommend as very windy on the dunes. We thoroughly enjoyed the 4x4 sand dune ride where we stopped to do sand boarding and take pictures. We were then taken to the BBQ and show, where food was plentiful and varied. Henna, camel ride, dancing, fire act and belly dancing followed.
All in all a great day out. Thank you Mian😄

Simply the whole experience start to finnish was amazing, iv been on dessert safaris before and they are all fundamentally the same. The only difference is the host/driver and on this trip we were very lucky to have Mr Muhammad.
The Trip started with a message from Mr Muhammad to inform us he was on route to our hotel and updated us as he got closer. We were greeted by a very enthusiastic welcome. We were joined by another couple Mel and Ariani and Mr Muhammed using his unique sense of Humour broke the ice between my family and the Mel and Ariani.
From the Moment we left the hotel grounds he was like a tour guide of Dubai informing us about landmarks and developments and what was taking place within Dubai. Upon nearing the meeting point where we were to join up with the rest of the convoy Muhammed informed us of the itinerary.
Muhammad organised the hire of a ATV while he and the other drivers prepared the vehicles to go off road.
After our little stopover we headed out on to the dunes and me and my son were sat at the back and all I can say it was one hell of a ride.
Muhammad had been driving as a Safari driver for 10 years plus and it showed his handling of the vehicle and navigation was impeccable.
We also got the feeling Muhammed was not just a liked individual within our car but he was engaging with anyone who he came across regardless of they were from our tour our another.
Muhammad was as it turned out a man of many skills, beyond the Dakar dessert race driver he was a photographer and a natural entertainer with charm.
After the bash thru the dunes and "photo shoot"
We headed to the camp site where we were given opportunity to ride camels and take photos once more.
We were taken to our seating with a cup of khawa and a donut like dessert. We then sat as a few different types of dances took place with food served inbetween. While everyone was enjoying the entertainment we were suddenly wrapped in a blanket as I looked up it Muhammed who in a camp of maybe 200 had gone and got blankets for the 5 in his car.
Like I said every safari is good but what makes it memorable is the people and Muhammad was the man to make it perfect.
I would recommend this tour group and if possible ask for Muhammad he will entertain you from start to finnish.

Excellent from start to finish!
Our guide, Asghar Ali was polite, knowledgable and helpful.

He picked us up on time from the hotel (make sure you send your WhatsApp number through so he can message you) and the car was modern, clean, air conditioned and comfortable.

The journey to the desert took about 50 minutes. The first stop is at the quad bikes where they also prepare the car for the dunes. Asghar took us to the ticket kiosk and helped us buy the tickets we wanted. We just purchased the kids quad bike 30 minute session but you could also hire dune buggies, adult quad bikes or go on the camels (you need to pay for all). There is also a couple of cafes / shops and toilets (take tissues!).

We then went on the dunes in the jeep. It was excellent! You could also get out to take photographs and have a go at sand boarding.

This took about 30-40 minutes and afterwards we drove to another area so the car could be cleaned and the tyres pumped back up. There were also shops here.

Next we drove to the camp, this took about 30 minutes. On arrival Asghar took us in and poured us the coffee and gave us some delicious Arabic sweet donuts and our starters, he also showed us around the camp and took us to our table.

The food at the camp was excellent, loads of it and very organised. There were also lots of drinks. The show was very good.

Afterwards our two children had a go on a camel which was great!

We were greatly looking forward to the experience, 2 families of 5 adults and 4 children. We were picked up on time from our hotel in two separate 4x4 cars and driven 45 minutes to the first of two venues: the dunes.

As soon as we left the vehicle we were approached by many locals wanting to sell us various goods, from head scarves, to quad biking, all excessively priced. Personally, we don’t like that approach. Once we were clearly uninterested, our guides became equally uninterested in us.

Despite this, approximately 45 minutes later we were driven through the sand dunes, both drivers showing tremendous skill in driving the vehicle. Once we reached the top (about 30 minutes later), we were able to use the sand boards, and our guide took great effort in taking photos of us with our phones to capture the experience well.

We then headed back down to the camp where another 30 minutes of pressure selling was imposed upon us. By this point both instructors were totally silent. When’s e reached the evening venue, we were able to take a 5 minute camel ride which the kids loved, again lots of photos taken. We then went into the camp, greeted with a coffee and snack of chicken shawarma and falafel, and we sat aside the central dancing floor for the evenings entertainment. The BBQ was delicious, loads of fresh salads and lamb and chicken skewers. The entertainment was fun, including belly dancing (us Dads particularly enjoyed that!), fire show and dancing. Afterwards, our ‘guides’ drove us back to our hotel without a single word. Across the desert to the road took about 20 minutes and at times was terrifying. Far too close, at very high speeds, next to the many other 4x4s that all had passengers that had been to the evening BBQ and entertainment. Note: this is a camp and not exclusive. We wanted exclusivity when in the car, a luxury we had to pay an extra 400 AED for, but unnecessary due to being in low season. By the time we drove back to the hotel, it was obvious the guides were fed up. Maybe it was because we chose not to buy anything in addition to the considerable amount we had paid earlier that day and didn’t want to partake in the quad biking.

All in all, a good experience but ruined a little by the constant bartering and pushiness of the various locals, and the very brief and limited communication from our hosts / guides. A bit of humour goes a long way.

Overall we left feeling a little disappointed from the tour. We opted for the four hour option as having done a desert safari before, I know the BBQ section is very touristy and not worth the money. Our experience was as follows:

We were picked up from our hotel around 3:30 in a 4x4 with air conditioning that wasn't working, so we only had the fans. The guide didn't introduce himself or explain to us what we would be doing, and in fact didn't say a word for a long while. We stopped to pick up another group on the way and then drove for about an hour into the desert; the driver was on his phone most of the time and at one point took a roundabout far too fast.

You then pull up to a rather bizarre point just off the main motorway where those who have paid for the camel ride and quad biking can do this. We didn't opt for either and fortunately they have an air conditioned room for you to wait in. The toilets were very dirty and there are a number of stores facing onto the site, where you are hassled to buy tat and overcharged for drinks if you're not careful (one store tried to charge 20DHS for a Fanta! He wouldn't go lower than 10DHS so I left). It wasn't a nice experience.

The desert safari itself is good, you go up onto the dunes and get some great shots. You're also able to do some sand boarding which is really fun. The driver got the truck stuck, and this lead to two cars having to rescue us, though it took about 1.5 hours to sort out it actually made the trip :D, as otherwise we would've felt a little short changed.

After the car was dug out we stopped back at the bizarre camp again, before driving back to Dubai.

I say we were disappointed because the reviews for the tour were good and the office staff a real credit to the company as they helped out when we had booked the tour for the wrong day. I had a similar experience with another desert safari a few years ago, so maybe they're all just like this ...

Our guide and driver was with PV Mohammad and he was so fun, energetic, funny, and helped me take great photos on my phone! I would recommend him if you want someone experienced and not boring. I suggest you put in a request when they call you to confirm the booking. Even the arabian music choice in his car was cool.

He checked in on us many times and answered all my questions. We were hydrated for the desert. At the end, I was dropped off back to our hotel at the time they promised. I met great people from different countries on the way because of PV’s smooth introduction.

Overall Im glad I booked this tour last minute. It was the only company available the day of booking 2 hours before it began. All the other tour companies I clicked had to be booked one day in advance.

The safari was the highlight of our Dubai vacation. We highly recommend purchasing the 7 hour tour (otherwise it won’t be a full experience). Our guide was Alam. He picked us up on time from the hotel. First we arrived to a station where you could ride quad bikes, camels or just a stop for some refreshments. After that we took off to the desert. Alam is a professional sand dune driver, and he made sure everyone is safe and feeling good during the ride. He took many beautiful photos of us, and taught us sandboarding. After the desert we arrived at a station where first we had welcoming snacks and drinks. There were beautiful dance and fire shows throughout the evening, and in between there was a buffet with lots of food variety (vegetarian friendly as well). Once everything was over Alam took us to our hotel. Overall such a magnificent experience and it is worth every cent we paid (it was actually cheaper than the other tour companies were offering us). Highly recommend and request Alam as your tour guide (he is very friendly, respectful, answered all our questions, made sure we were safe and enjoyed our experience to the fullest).

We were really looking forward to this outing as we had done it a number of year ago with another company and were so excited to bring our kids along with us this time. Sadly it was really really disappointing. The driver didn’t speak to us at all, there was no communication at all. The journey took 1hr 15mins to get to the “meeting point” which is in Sharjah, not Dubai, when we got there it was an awful place, we were mobbed by men trying to sell us things, the bathroom facilities were vile (absolutely horrendous). The driver just walked off into some room and left us standing there for fifteen minutes, when he came out we had to go to him and ask him what was happening, he said “waiting for the rest of the group”. We said we wanted to get back into the jeep to get away from the constant pestering to buy things. It was like what you’d expect from a Turkish market. Eventually the driver began to drive out into the desert, after about five minutes of driving slowly over sand dunes in complete silence, I asked when the sand dunning would start. He told us this was it! I questioned where the rest of the group were that we had been waiting on and he said they had left without us! I asked for water for the kids and he reluctantly gave them luke warm water from the glovebox. Eventually after another five minutes of silence ad slow driving on our own I asked about the sand surfing, he stopped at a group of vehicles and appeared to ask if we could use their boards, the other driver appeared very disgruntled at the request but eventually said we could have a go. They then drove off and after taking one or two photos we left too. The total experience in the dunes was approx. 20 minutes including going once on the other persons boards. It felt like the “tour guide” was just a random person who had a jeep had picked us up and brought us out to the desert! We drove another 40 minutes in absolute silence back to Dubai where we went to the camp. It did improve from here as we weren’t with the driver anymore until the evening was over and he dropped us back to the hotel. The food was of acceptable quality, the lady doing the henna tattoos was lovely and very talented and the entertainment was enjoyable. Again, the bathroom facilities were horrendous. Other people at the camp had had a great day with other tour operators, so I do think we really just hit it bad with this operator. It was by far the worst spent money on our trip so far, we were very disappointed.

The sand dune and dinner tour was the highlight of my trip to Dubai. It was an exhilarating experience driving through the dunes with our very skilled driver Rashid, but then also beautiful and relaxing to stand atop the dunes for landscape photos with friends. Our driver and tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly, and made the entire experience stress free.

The dinner and entertainment in the traditional Arab camp was excellent value for money, and very well presented. This tour would be the first thing I would recommend to my friends or family when visiting Dubai. It gives you a real feel for the surroundings of the city, as well as a great contrast and refreshing experience to the glitz of the inner Dubai city precinct.

This was a fantastic experience, that was made even better by our brilliant tour guide Abbas who has a brilliant sense of humour. We got to ride quad bikes through the desert which my husband absolutely loved. He was like a big child. The sand dune crashing was so thrilling and then we stopped and got to take in the stunning views and sunset. Abbas then took some incredible pictures of us which I have included below. Sandboarding is great fun but be ready for the big walk back up the hill, definitely worth it though. The camels are well looked after and very friendly, although this is a short camel ride that is all you really need. The BBQ buffet was so much better than I had expected a great mix of food for everyones taste buds. This was actually a dinner with a show giving us an opportunity to emerse ourselves in the culture with traditional dancers, fire breathes and belly dancers. We really had an amazing evening and I could not recommend Abbas more.
