Great way to learn about the Croatian culture
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Lucy, learning about the Croatian culture and history while simultaneously enjoying traditional food and drinks. We found our guide to be extremely knowledgeable and personable, which made the experience very enjoyable. The variety and portions were generous, and each stop provided a new culinary experience. I highly recommend this tour.

I had the most wonderful evening. I have learnt a lot about Split and Croatia not only historically but also in terms of people. We have been to lovely restaurants which gave me great insight in the variety of Croatian food and how delicious it tastes. I can absolutely recommend this tour.

Can't recommend this enough, we were in Split for a week and it was amazing but it would be perfect if you were here for a short time - there's a lovely balance of history and traditional food and drinks. Olga organises special tasting platters at some amazing restaurants so you can safely try lots of different food without having to order a full plate of it. The food was absolutely delicious, things we never would have ordered on our own without really knowing what they were. Olga is so lovely and enthusiastic and so knowledgeable about both history and food. One of the best things we did all week, just wonderful!

Pleasant first night in Split
We enjoyed a lovely evening tour with Vicjencia. The meeting point was clear and on time. Our tour provided a nice orientation of the waterfront and Diocletian’s Palace. We learned fun historical facts and a lot about Croatian culture. The four food stops were traditional, unique from each other and items we wouldn’t normally stumble upon. Despite unexpected rain, we were able to improvise the walk and still enjoy our time together. This was our fifth city food tour and we would rank it pleasantly comparable to others. Our favorite parts were Vicjencia’s passion for history and an emphasis on regional wines, which are wonderful.

My partner and I really enjoyed the tour by Olga in Split. She was very informative and friendly and took us to some very interesting sites and food vendors, both market and restaurant. She also gave us some good tips about where to get good coffee and wine. I highly recommend this tour. 👍

Our guide Olga was great and friendly. The Green Market was nice and informative. The rest of the tour is minimal with small portions. A little overpriced for what you get.

Dear Andrew, Thank you very much for you feedback as we always do our best to improve as much as we can. Not quite sure what happend when you visited as most of our guests coming back to us with ''to much food on the tour'' and ''come hungry as you will leave stuffed''! We are very sorry your experience was different and will do our best for your experience do not repeat to any other guest. Thank you again and best wishes... Lucy EAT IN SPLIT FOOD TOURS

Lucy was our guide and she was amazing – a sincere guide with lots of valuable information to offer – not only on the palace, but on Croatia in general. This was a great way to meet other people and to experience the great tastes of Split. The food and the wines are perfect matches and you should arrive hungry.

Very Nice Food Tour and some History
Sep 2019
soparnikOlga was a great guide.for our 10:30 am tour with a group of 11 adults. In the green market, we started with a very generous sampling of Croatian cured ham with Peka bread followed by kuren sausage and 4 different types of cheeses. Then some sampling of sugared preserved orange peel. We then moved on to a quick tour of Diocletian’ s Palace with an overview of Croatian history.

This was followed by a generous slice of soparnik - which is Swiss chard pizza. Then we had a sit down lunch at Konoba Makarun where we were served an appetizer with prawn ceviche, a tuna pate, and a cured fish - where everyone had a small taste of each item. The main course was pasta with a shrimp sauce and another pasta with chunks of beef. The pasta was fine, but would have enjoyed an entree that was more Croatian than Italian. The lunch was served with both a white and red wine. Afterwards, we each had a scoop of ice cream.

Dear Times, Thank you very much for your detailed review and we are sorry you did not like homemade pasta as an entree. Gastronomy in the South of Croatia was influenced by Italy during WW2 and Venice troughout 15 16 17 and 18th century so it simply reflects our menues today and you will see homemade pasta and gnocchi very often on our tables for big Christian holiday or big festivities. The actual origin of pasta is China (noodles) where from pasta was brought to Europe by Marco Polo who was Croatian (born on Korčula island) who worked for medieval independent state of Venice. Tavern(konoba) Makarun where you had your homemade pasta is owned by a Chef who is from Korčula island and is one of the last in Split Old town that can still offer this handmade delicacy so we are so very sorry you didn't like it as an entree and for misunderstanding that it is something necessary Italian. Thank you again for taking time to write down this review and wish you all the best from Split. Lucy EAT IN SPLIT FOOD TOURS
