A truly memorable day out...
What a memorable day out! I had transmitted the canal many times during my time at sea with the British Merchant Navy in the 70s and wanted to get an update from a different perspective. Panama Marine Adventures did not disappoint and I was amazed by how things have changed here (all for the better) in the last 45 years.
Their service is top notch from pick up at your hotel to drop off at the end of the day. The boat that we took our trip on was clean, modern and very comfortable with plenty of seating and viewing opportunities both outside and indoors in the air conditioned spaces below the upper two decks. Our trip included breakfast and lunch which were both plentiful, hot and absolutely adequate. Our guide for the day was Gus and his commentary in Spanish and English was first rate.
The other members of the staff are also extremely friendly and helpful.
Gus’s commentary was both educational and peppered with interesting facts and figures about the canal and its operation. It was clear that he was passionate about the subject matter.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and water are provided throughout the trip and there is also a pay as you go bar service with cold beers and wine for those that want a little extra something for their refreshment.
Please remember to bring a hat if, like me, you are going to spend the trip outdoors on the fore-deck.
Oh... and don’t forget your camera!

We went on this partial day canal tour. Me and my husband were treated wonderfully by a staff member named Billyjean she definitely cares about the tourists around her & helps them feel safe and looked after. The partial canal trip was in my opinion the better option 8 hours instead of 12 hours for the full trip. The partial tour shows you everything you want to see!! They included breakfast & lunch in the tour as well. English & spanish guide talks about the history as you go through the canal.

Beginning in Panama City and ending in Gamboa. We are so glad that we took this tour from the water for a very unique view of such an engineering wonder. I recommend going to the canal museum in Casco Viejo prior to going on the cruise for the history, artifacts, and construction of the new, bigger locks. Lunch and breakfast were even good. It got rather hot on the top of the bow so the air conditioned compartments became very welcomed. They also had ample bathrooms. The crew are all very courteous and helpful, plus there is a wonderful tour guide who gave a wonderful account of the sights we were seeing. We didn't opt to go back to Panama City right away but arranged for a driver to pick us up in Gamboa to go for a hike in the rainforest and monkey island, then back to Panama City. If you do this though, arrange with the tour first so they can get a permit for your driver to enter the port in Gamboa. We tried emailing to let them know but I didn't get a reply. It turned out okay though, just a heads up though. Also, the Gamboa rainforest cafe in the hotel of the same name proved to have amazing views of the Chagres river and the rainforest.

Fantastic Trip!
Mar 2019 • Friends
We won't ever forget our partial canal transit tour. It was amazing! We started on the Pacific side and made our way through the Miraflores Locks and then the Pedro Miguel Lock. The boat (the Pacific Queen) had a tour guide, Gus, who talked us through the whole experience in both Spanish and English--both of which were easily heard and understood. The tour also included breakfast and lunch, both delicious and well organized. We even had the opportunity to visit the bridge and have our picture taken! Highly recommended for any trip to Panama City.

Once in a lifetime & unique Experience
I was debating as to whether to take the full day tour or partial transit tour and Ibsm glad that I opted for the partial transit tour from the Pacific side on towards Gatun Lake. When my family took this particular tour, it was offered only on Fridays. So do check the schedule on their website to know about their days of operation. The time of the start of this partial tour varies from one day to another as it is decided upon by the authorities of the Panama Canal, just the evening before, depending upon the number of ships passing on that day. One will see the operation of the Miraflores Locks and Pedro Miguel Locks while navigating on this tour. The live commentator was extremely knowledgeable and gave several interesting facts about the canal during the journey. One will get several picturesque photo opportunities while sailing on the boat. Buffet breakfast and lunch is served on the boat, making it very convenient. This is once in a lifetime unique experience which no tourist should miss while in Panama City.

Learned So Much about the Panama Canal
Feb 2019 • Couples
I had always wanted to sail down the Panama Canal and until I went with Panama Marine Adventures I did not realize just how special and unique of an experience this was. Sailing through the canal and going up the locks is quite an undertaking. It was so nice to be able to sit back on a boat and learn all about this process with our bilingual guide. I ended the day understanding so much more of what it mean to sail through the Panama Canal. If you get the chance, definitely do this at least once in your life.

Great Day Sailing through the Panama Canal!
Feb 2019 • Couples
My wife and I were so thankful to have had the chance to sail through the Panama Canal with Panama Marine Adventures. I enjoy history and was pleased with the way our bilingual guide incorporated manageable & memorable amounts of information at select points throughout the tour. The lunch was good and the boat facilities were nice. This was a great experience, thank you so much.
