Trudy and David from Singapore
This was a fantastic tour on so many counts. Our tour guide Mustafa is knowledgeable on many aspects and occurrences of the siege, and my son David and I were in thrall to his vivid accounts of his own harrowing experience going through the tunnel, having lived through the siege as a teenager during the war. Though the weather was cold during this end of November season, we were totally immersed in our own experiences as travellers to amazing BiH, and were privileged to hear a first hand account of life under the siege, aside from watching features of it on video on site. We could feel the courageous spirit and ingenuity of the inhabitants of Sarajevo during those challenging times as we crouched in the short segment of tunnel that has been preserved and which is accessed through the original modest building that concealed it. The cold weather in fact contributed to a unique experience, as it began snowing on our way up Mount Ogman earlier on, and Mustafa was astute to seize the opportunity for some atmospheric picture taking amidst the falling snow. The snowy scene at our stopover lunch spot, Fish Farm and Restaurant Toplik, continued to enchant us with the beauty of this amazing country. We came back from the tour totally fulfilled, full of admiration for the indomitable spirt of the Bosnians who underwent the siege, and filled with awe for the magical mystery that the snowy Bosnian landscape embraced us in. Our hearts were warmed beyond measure by the hospitality of both land and people alike who showed us the best they had to offer. I would highly recommend this tour to travellers who hanker for experiences that demonstrate the resilience and generosity of the human spirit, and a charming and enchanting landscape.

I am glad I chose Funky Tours to be my tour operator during my recent visit to Bosnia. From the moment I communicated via emails to my arrival in their office it was a very positive experience. I want to give a shout out to friendly Nadira and wonderful Emir. He was my guide on all the tours I took. Emir brought the history of all the places I visited to life. He is a great storyteller. I really enjoyed the Streets and Food Tour. I even went back to eat at one of the places he took me to eat Bosnian food.
I hope to come back to visit Bosnia i Herzegovina one day and I will use Funky Tours to continue learning about this beautiful country.

I knew I wanted to visit the Tunnel of Hope but didn’t really know how to get there on my own. I decided to take the easy way out and signed up for a tour with Funky Tours. It was one of the best decisions I made in Sarajevo. I’m an independent traveller and never really a fan of guided tours, but I’m glad I did. We were transported in a comfortable vehicle from the city to the tunnel, and our guide Amir told us stories along the way, pointing out the significant buildings. I learnt so much of the siege from the tour and Amir answered all our questions. The tour felt very personal and he even shared some personal experiences of his father. If you’re interested in learning more of this history, go with Funky Tours. I have to give a special mention to Edna. She wasn’t my tour guide but she was so helpful in answering all my questions about Bosnia (as I arrived at the office earlier). She even helped me find some hotels as I was thinking of extending my stay in the city. Definitely a tour company which treats you like a friend more than a client.

Dear Diana, thank you so much for taking a moment of your time to write about your experience with our company. We were truly happy and grateful that we were able to bring you closer to understanding our rather complicated and sorrowful history. We always strive for that personal approach, so that our guests feel like they are surrounded with long know friends. Once again, thank you for booking this tour with us in the first place, it was such a pleasure to meet you and to assist you in any matter needed. We truly hope to see you again in the future. Sending you a lots of love from Funky Tours team <3

We loved this tour and learned so much about the tragic war of the 1990s. Our guide, Almir, was incredibly informative - we couldn't have asked for a better person to provide us with so many details. He lost a brother in the war, and was a soldier who was wounded in the war himself, which made it even more poignant to us. We'd 100 percent recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sarajevo.

The company - The communication with this travel company has been absolutely flawless! From assisting with booking tours at late hours, to helping with luggage storage. This has been one of the best companies I've worked with during my travels.

The tour - a really interesting tour to take! If you are interested in learning about the history of Sarajevo, do not hesitate to take it! Our guide Adnan had so many interesting stories to tell about the city as well as his experience during the siege. You get a bonus story if you ask about how he met his wife :)

Thank you for a really great experience!

I did a few tours with Funky Tours during my trip to Sarajevo and they were all excellent. The team really went above and beyond to help me plan my time there and get the most out of my trip. The guides were fantastic, knew a ton about the history and included their own personal stories which really enhanced the tour. Sarajevo is such an interesting city and I hope to come back soon. I would highly recommend a trip to Bosnia and when you go definitely do a tour with Funky Tours!
