Long day, beautiful trip

The process was a little bit unorganized. I met with q tour guide the day before who gave me the rail tickets and park entrance tickets. The next day I was picked up by a taxi at 5:30 am to go to the train station. Once I got to Aguascalientes, I found another tour guide who stated that he would get my tickets for the bus and to meet him in 2 hours time. After 2 hours elapsed I met with the guide who then stated that we would wait another 45 minutes until we would catch a bus to Machu Picchu. On the way back, the train does not continue all the way to Cuzco it drops you off at Oyllantaytambo, where you will be picked up by q transfer service back to Cuzco. The ride back was very bumpy. Be prepared to spend a lot of free time in Aguascalientes until it’s time to enter the park. All of that set aside it was a beautiful trip with beautiful train ride.

A wonderful family experience…

Oswaldo did a great job putting together our tour in spite of many challenges with our schedule. We were met by where we were staying, transported to the train station, and then met in Aguascalientes for a trip to Machu Picchu. The tour we were given by Raul was very informative and it added a lot of context to what we were looking at. I recommend this tour to anyone looking to see Machu Picchu while staying in Cusco.

A beautiful place to visit.

Our tour to Mach Picchu was beautiful. The scenery up and back was breathtaking and our time touring Machu Picchu was perfect. My only complaint was the process of transferring from the train to buses, which involved hundreds of people and Pedro, the person in charge, didn’t properly guide people and several of us got lost.

Amazing place, great tour guide, poorly constructed package.

**The 2 star rating is for this deal not the trip or tour guide itself. Those were all great. **

Machu Pichu is a picture perfect destination, the tour within the city was great, however the process after the tour was confusing.
This package includes pickup and drop off but the tour itself is only about 2-2.5 hours and this package was a whole day event. In other words from the time our tour was over we needed to kill about 3 hours before we could catch the train back to Cusco. The train ride back was about 2 hours longer than the initial ride because we were getting dropped off in a different area than from our pickup, we didn’t know why.
From the train station a bus is supposed to have picked us up, but they left us after I went into the restroom for 5 minutes, luckily we caught a taxi.
If you are going to Machu Pichu buy your ticket in advance, get to the train station early and book your guide at the site. It would be a lot cheaper and you don’t have to wait on anyone’s schedule, just my opinion.

WOSRT ORGANIZING EXPERIENCE

Terrible organization. Last minute we were told we had to buy our own tickets and no one was alongside our group to assist us. We had to get the money back from the organizer. The pickup driver got lost in finding our Airbnb. I asked if he was using GPS as there are two streets with the same name as ours. After chatting with the other guests, the driver couldn't find anyone on time. Bus transportation up to Machu Picchu was also missing from our reservation. We had to pay out of pocket and once again connect with the organizer to receive that money back. The only good thing out of this package was the tour guide they outsourced. Book with another organizer.

Disappointing ogranisation

The pick-up at the hotel was 40 min late which is particulary annoying at 4am. Also, the driver didn't come to pick us up in the return at the train station at Ollantaytambo, we waited for 20min and then paid to some other minivan. Machu Picchu was great of course but the organisation was awful.

from the moment they did not want to wear the mask and protection they already put the group at risk ... you took too long to get out of the train station ... our car cannot wait too long for half an hour just for you Leave in Ollantaytambo, it is a long time, the car had to leave and you had to wait for the next turn ... they put a complaint without foundation

Once in a lifetime experience

This was a great experience. I am 72 years old, over weight, bad knees and I made it all the way to the top and back down again. My son, daughter-in-law, daughter, 11 yr old grandson and two friends were here with me. My grandson was like a llama or alpaca going up the pathways, me I was slow but made it. We took great pictures and our guide Edwin made sure we took time to truly enjoy the beauty and immense splendor.

Book this tour NOW ;) This was a wonderful experience and It could have been perfect with one change. Keep in mind this tour is all day. Your tour guide will meet you the day before to explain all, give tickets etc. Don’t try to plan anything else on this same day. You will work with a couple different people during this experience. I had no problems communicating with anyone I can into contact with because I speak Spanish. I did notice some others having a little bit of trouble. There was one point were some of the guides seemed a little bit confused on which group to take. You go from taxi to train to bus to Machu Picchu so travel light. Bring a rain jacket even if you think it won’t rain because it will I promise you. There the tour guide Daniels knowledge and kindness was wonderful. You have time to take photos and all. One you leave the train from Ollanyantamo you take another small bus if you are staying in Cusco , then you find your own transportation back to your hotel . This tour was wonderful . Don’t forget face Sheild and two masks is required on train and bus. Enjoy and book.

Great tour!

This trip was perfect for first time visitors. Oswaldo came to our hotel the night before to explain how the day would go. All train and bus tickets were bought in advance which made it very easy. The trains were comfortable and the tour guide at Machu Picchu was thorough and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour!

Never felt alone with a great team

Our tour operator was fantastic. There was a lot of communication ahead of the trip and plenty of people on the team at each step to guide you along.
When I missed my return train, our operator worked extra to secure our ride back in to Cusco.
I was very concerned because we did not have tickets to Machu Picchu ahead of time but the team got us in line for the daily tickets and we were able to see this wonderful site.
Had we not chosen this tour option, we would have missed Machu Picchu… which is something you should never do when visiting Peru.
