Highlights
Visit Giza, Sakkara, and Memphis in a day on a private tour from Cairo
Experience three top Cairo sites with ease and learn about them from a guide
See Giza’s pyramids and sphinx; Sakkara’s step pyramid, and Memphis ruins
Private return transport, plus upgrade for lunch and Solar Boat Museum entry
What to expect
Start your private tour with a hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza, and travel by air-conditioned minivan to the Giza Plateau. Head into the site with your Egyptologist guide and marvel at the pyramids. Take snaps and listen as your guide explains how these monumental tombs were built in around 2,500 BC for three pharaohs. Get free time to explore inside one of the pyramids independently (additional cost) — your guide is not permitted to accompany you. Alternatively, take a camel ride (additional cost) and absorb the sweeping views over central Cairo.  See the enigmatic Sphinx, and perhaps complete your visit with entry to the Solar Boat Museum (additional cost): home to the funerary boat of Khufu, the pharaoh for whom the largest Giza pyramid was built. Gaze in awe at the wooden boat, and learn how its remnants were discovered and reassembled by archaeologists.
Next, make the short drive to Sakkara, the home of Egypt's oldest pyramid, constructed in around 2,650 BC. Admire this incredible, stepped structure as you learn how it was built for the Pharaoh Djoser, and enjoy time to explore at leisure.
Then, continue to Memphis, Egypt’s ancient capital and administrative center until around 2,200 BC. View the UNESCO-listed sculptures and ruins in its outdoor museum, and behold the star turn: a spectacularly large, fallen statue of Ramses II.  During your day’s explorations, break for lunch (additional cost) and visit a papyrus institute to see the ancient craft of papyrus painting in action. Watch the artisans at work and perhaps buy some of the delicate artworks. Your day trip finishes with a drop-off back at your Cairo or Giza hotel.

Great time!
We had Henry as our guide and we are so pleased we did! He was a super informative and passionate Egyptologist...my husband and I were blown away by the history lessons and the stories shared with us on the tour. We had a driver, thank goodness, and they both did a wonderful job. He even helped take some amazing photos that will be hung on our walls at home. We still think about that day at the pyramids...what an unforgettable day! Thank you Henry! We will visit again one day and hopefully be able to hire you again in Luxor

Amazing Tour
Jan 2020
Our tour from Cairo through Viator was amazing. We were met in the lobby of our hotel promptly. We traveled in comfort & safely. Our tour guide, Amgad Ali, was phenomenal. During our drive to the first destination, Amgad gave us an overview of Egyptian history. He was thoroughly knowledgeable, spoke English perfectly, and sensed the pace we needed to absorb the multitude of information. We, truly, feel we got to experience the magnificence of these sites! You won't be disappointed.

Such kind people who count on the tourist industry to thrive. My suggestion is to be as generous as your wallet permits.

Our private van, and driver were clean, and cool. This service was exceptional! We will definitely book again. Great for family or friend groups. Egypt is safe, and ever so friendly! First visit to Egypt
Tour guide knowledgeable and willing to explain. I wish it was less commercial around the papyrus offers. It is truly a pitty the city is so full of garbage, there are not proper bathroom facilities at any of the attractions, and the proliferation of street salespeople is overwhealming. Such an amazing site the Pyramids; yet once visited, not to come back.

This tour was fascinating! We learned so much about ancient Egypt. Fouyed was a fabulous guide. He was so knowledgeable and even added a stop at a carpet school, so we could see how Egyptian carpets are made.

An astonishing day. A tough tour guide.
It has been a lifetime dream for me to visit the pyramids and Egypt in general. We were picked up promptly by a driver and a very enthusiastic guide. On the way to the pyramids he gave us a lot of his background and what we could expect from the day so I was thrilled that we would have all the information when we arrived.

It really is important to get a tour guide if you are not familiar with Egypt… Our tour guide was able to bypass all of the lines and get us in to the pyramid complex very quickly and easily.

Once we actually walked up to the pyramid that’s when things got weird… Apparently our guide wanted to give us a one hour talk standing just 40 yards from the pyramids instead of going straight to them and wondering around as I had expected.

It was news to us that there were six more pyramids besides the main three and we wanted to go see them but he would not let us. My son and I went inside the great pyramid which was incredible, but while we were inside my wife and our friend were not permitted to walk around the complex at all and was consistently Warren to buy the guide that every other human being was going to try and take advantage of them which is not true and extremely weird.

We briefly saw the sphinx and the pyramids from a good vantage point but just as we were expecting to see the solar boat and spend another hour the driver was driving away from the pyramids and as we protested they said sorry that’s all the time we have.

We booked our other two days of tours with other tour groups and had much better experiences… But I did not let our frustration with the tour guide to get in my way of having an incredible day at the pyramids.

After that things went much better we had an incredible lunch on the way to Memphis and Saqqara. By this time our tour guide started listening to us and we asked to make some small changes to the tour and he was amenable to that.

The moral of this long story is this. Whatever tour group you use sit down with the tour guide first thing in the morning and explain exactly what you want to do and tell them exactly your knowledge of what you were going to go see that day. Things will go much better for everybody if you start out on the same page.

It was so frustrating to have a tour guide who didn’t seem to understand our wants and needs but I still gave this four stars because it was very well organized and the day was still incredible no matter how frustrating our guide was.

Excellent Day
Jun 2019 • Friends
Excellent last day in Egypt before flying home, we had spent most of our time in and around Luxor. We were met promptly from our overnight sleeper train which was above and beyond expectation, which meant our private tour began early avoiding much of the midday heat. We started at Memphis, then on to Sakkara and the step pyramid which was my personal favourite as you've seen less of it on TV! Make sure to follow your guide's advice and go inside the collapsed pyramid there rather than paying to go inside the Giza pyramid later, which is empty. Next was the famous Giza Plateau, pyramids and sphinx which, although we've all seen it on TV, is absolutely breath-taking. We then enjoyed a camel ride and photo opportunity. Followed by lunch with a view of the sphinx. Highly recommended.
