Visit Masada at dawn, and Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea in a day from Jerusalem
Cover three sights in a day, with an early start and transport made easy
Hike up Masada for sunrise, roam Ein Gedi, and bob in the Dead Sea
Relax with return transport by air-conditioned coach from central Jerusalem
What to expect
Your tour begins with pickup in the early hours. Then drive to the base of Masada Mountain, crowned by the UNESCO-listed Masada Fortress. While your driver waits at the mountain’s base, embark on a challenging hike to the mountain’s summit to watch a desert sunrise. Enjoy free time to explore the ruins before making your descent and reconvening with your driver. Your next stop is the Ein-Gedi Nature Reserve. Follow your choice of well-marked hiking trails independently, admiring waterfalls, caves, and wadis and then return to the vehicle for the journey to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on planet earth. On arrival at a private Dead Sea beach resort, you have ample free time to float and flounder in the salt-saturated water, which is reputed to have healing properties. After drying off and showering, return to your original departure point in Jerusalem.

A sunrise in the desert, a walk in a natural reserve and floating in the Dead Sea in one day - an incredible experience!
Feb 2020
An absolute mesmerizing tour I will never forget! The pick up is quite early, but getting to watch the sunrise over the desert was incredible and so worth it. Everything went to plan and we were very happy with the quality of service. We got to the top of Masada exactly on time to watch the sunrise. We also had enough time to walk around and take photos. The visit at Ein Gedi was very interesting and I'm glad it is included in the tour, as I wouldn't have thought of visiting it otherwise. Getting to float in the Dead Sea at the end was the perfect finish to the trip.
Highly recommend Tourist Israel!

One of the Top 10 days of my life...
Feb 2020
The trip was mostly self guided, but that was perfect because we got dropped off and picked up at the right time in the right places and in between could enjoy what was one great adventure. History, natural beauty and amazing sights...unforgettable.

NOT RECOMMENDED
Jan 2020 • Friends
Despite the beauty of the sites and the good combination of spots , I would not recommend this company. I paid in order to be able to see the sunrise on Massada and was very disappointed when our driver told us the road was close . The company didn't even notified us when we bought the tickets, that it could have been a possibility due to the weather condition. We then lost 2 hours in the middle of the road at 4am waiting for the road to open. Those 2 hours that we couldn’t get back and made us rush on every site we have to visit.
I tried to call the company to have explanations and at least a gesture or a refund but the only answer was that they are not responsible for any of this and that it was not their fault. Totally uncommercial of them ! Without even having a notification of those possibilities ! Very disappointing ! Go ELSEWHERE !

Hi Lavibu, thanks for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the situation with your tour. We know it is frustrating when something out of anyone's control, like the weather, has an effect on the tours. This normally does not happen, but we cannot predict the weather and are unable to notify anyone in advance of road closures or site closures. On this day, Masada was closed in the morning to weather conditions which we were not made aware of until the last moment. We wanted our customers to still be able to experience these amazing sites, and since everyone had already arrived for the tour we went to Masada as soon as it opened back up for the day. This is the same situation that would happen with any tour or tour company with such last minute closures.

Bus late more than 2h, no sunrise
Jan 2020
The bus was late more than 2 hours, so I had to wait outside the hotel in the cold night and I finally didn't see the sunrise. Masada was amazing, but we had not enough time to enjoy it fully. Ein Gedi Nature Reserve was ok. We visited the northern part of the Dead Sea, with the muddy ground. The beach was a little dingy, sunbeds was cracked. For the price, the trip was average.

Hi AnnaB4529, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the bus was so late. We have looked into it and see that it was delayed because it broke down. Unfortunately, this is not something we have control over and we did our best to get the bus running and ready to pick up the group as soon as possible. We hope you still enjoyed the tour!

Taster Experience of three exceptional destinations
Oct 2019
This tour can only be described as a taster experience, as commented by others our party of four would have liked longer at each destination to allow time to explore, sit, gaze and marvel at everything you see - words cannot describe the views from Masada or how your skin will feel after a mud bath and soak in the Dead Sea.

It's a self-guided tour, make sure you download the App for info on each destination though leaflets are available at Masada and Ein Gedi.

Only criticism was that the driver did not make it clear what time to return to the bus prior to transfer to each destination. I had to rely on others we travelled with for this very important fact and not all guests on our trip spoke English.

Hi Neil P, thank you so much for your feedback. As you said, there is unfortunately not enough time in the day to explore all three of these incredible and breathtaking sites in depth, but we are glad that you got such a great "taster experience" and we hope you are able to spend more time at all of these sites in the future! As for the issue with the driver, we will definitely look into it and use your feedback to improve future tours so that they run more smoothly. We hope to see you again!

Worth the 3 am pick up
We had a very early pick up and stopped an hour later at 4 for a coffee and toilet break at a decent stop. We reached Masada before 5 and started the trek up the snake path. We had to return to the bus by 8 am. The climb up in the dark in the snake path was an adventure. The sun was rising over the Dead Sea before we reached up. Then the sun played hide and seek and we got great views. But to reach back down by 8 we had to leave by 7 giving hardly any time to relax after the uphill trek and look around the fort, enjoy the views. After we got down the next stop was in half hour at ein Gedi to see some waterfalls in the desert. But we didn’t go up as it was tiring after the trek. We stayed at the cafe down which just had some drinks. Those who trekked up said the falls were good. The last stop was the Dead Sea where we were taken to a private beach. It was a good one and crowned our tiring day. We got back on scheduled time by 1. There was no guide accompanying. The driver drove reasonably well and gave instructions in English.

Very easy
My daughter and I wanted to go to the Dead Sea for the day from Jerusalem and then be taken to Tel Aviv. It was easy and enjoyable. The guide Hanoch was a pleasure and originality from New York. I would recommend this company.

Exactly as described. A brisk tour but ideal if you are pushed for time. Would have liked longer at Dead Sea and not get back to Jerusalem early.
